The doctors tried their best to save his leg, but the damage was just too extensive. It got him a early flight home back in ‘05. He still hasn’t gotten used to his leg 100%, but he’s doing alot better now.

Joining HH has really added to my joy of being a fan

Yeah I made an ill advised rant/post way to soon then had a learning curve with some of the stats and terms used by some of the posters, but that is pretty much standard course around here. As long as I made an honest effort I was treated well, though.

I've been lurking on this site a long time...

… I’ve seen the history and venacular of this site grow and multiply. Anything from Panther, Sothball, the availability of Granderson, Quentin flying out, Pregame Song Lyrics, Pregame picks, etc, etc.

The diversity and open-mindedness of this site is amazing. I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to meet several posters in person and can vouch for their graciousness and good humor.

Thank you to the Rev and the entire community for giving me something to read while at home, work and in the bathroom. I can’t wait to see this site grow even more.

I found it because someone over at the official site posted a link to a story, either here or on Rev's original site.

I think the story here then linked to a story and pictures of Napoli and various other Angels at a party.

With chicks.

My son turned me on to HH. Right after we ran into Rev at the stadium before a game.

Rev looked at my son with that “Hey, that’s nice. But I have absolutely no friggin’ idea who you are.” look. It was sweet. Then I came here and started reading up. I was hooked, so I created my account and entered the fray with a hello fanpost. That was followed a day later by a call from said son informing me that I was such a noob, and that such behavior was unacceptable in the hipster world of blogging.

He kind of checked out on me when he observed my willingness to mix it up with others. Something about bad juju.

I was over in Romania and far away from Baseball as a whole.

I had very limited access to the internet, but would check the Angels page on CnnSi.com. They would provide other links to Angels news and kept seeing halosheaven. I click over a few times, and the rest was history. I hardly go anywhere else for my Angel news. Been here just about every day for the last 5 years or so.

Keep in mind that the Section 300 rows they mostly are suggesting are...

vertigo-inducing in how steeply the rows are staggered. The aisle stairs are mountain-goat steep. The legroom is horrific.

The view from there IS, however, breathtaking. Beautiful baseball stadium.

Depends, of course, on how much you want to spend.

In the ‘under $40’ category I’ve been happy with Sections 211 and/or 212 or thereabouts (just beyond 1st and/or 3rd bases respectively). Under $50, try the (upper) lower-deck corollaries @ Sections 109 or 110. These are sometimes hard to score. Moving inward (towards home plate) from these costs significantly more (but make for GREAT seats!).

I can attribute this site to my newfound fascination with sabermetrics

I had been lurking on this site since ‘09 and realized the respect this community showed towards SubOp. He used foreign statistics which I later learned were called sabermetrics to argue his points. I still don’t fully understand the fancy dialect and graphed data sets that posters use on sites like BtB but I feel like I can at least discuss it now.

I just have to tell someone...

I hope this is the right place to tell about this. I just returned from a vacation in AZ and CA with my wife, visiting my daughters. Mrs MiHaloFan and I went to Disneyland on the 30th with what seemed to be a lot of Skankee fans. Over near the Pirates of the Caribbean, there was a group of Skankee loud-mouths shooting their pie holes off to a nice family man with his kids… all wearing Angel ball caps. One Skank, fully outfitted in his satin jacket and fitted ball cap, just happened to be unfortunate about stepping backwards into the traffic lines walking briskly forward… you just never know when there might be another Angel fan who is willing to dip his shoulder just slightly and send a message to a Skankee, “Tell us again how the Angels suck” while you’re picking yourself up off the homefield. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for growing their son BIG.

This was the first Angels site I found. In fact at first I thought it was the official site. It didn’t take long to realize it was the best Angels site around. I’ve enjoyed more games than I can remember right here in the Halosheaven game threads. I’ve learned a whole new way to appreciate the game reading the articles by guys like Matt Welch and Subop. And I have laughed myself silly reading Rev’s famous rants after an Angels loss. This community is my favorite of all the ones I participate in.

Well, thanks for the warm welcome!

I guess I should stick around and stick my toes in for a while. I have noticed the vocal (& cool) ladies here. That’s just another reason why HH is so great. My husband thinks I’m weird when I watch the games and read the game thread at the same time. While he’s an Angels fan, he’s not as intense about it. When I heard the news about Pujols, I ended up spending the day on the sofa reading HH, listening to the radio, watching the MLB channel and that 4-letter channel, and keeping an eye on twitter. Whew! What a day. When I think about Pujols playing here, I still feel like I’m dreaming. So excited!

It’s funny, as I have been a lurher and poster here(different aliases) on here(and other boards), how such an online fan community can come so far from just being a place where early internet and sports geeks got together to circle jerk each other, to being a place where regular posters and contributers have become like mini-celebrities. I guess that that crazy ass Andy Warhol was right, we all will get our 15 minutes of fame.

Even though I didn’t comment in the PhiSlamma vs. DOV thread (like one can choose between those two stalwarts), I love this site.

I believe that HH makes me a better Angels fan, and certainly makes it easier to be a fan. I don’t get to see many games (living in Denmark as I do), and it would be very easy to just drop American sports altogether (Baseball is never on, and the Danish commentary on basketball and football is mind-blowingly annoying), but with HH life is great as an Angels Fan.

Big thanks to everyone here, who provide commentary and live action feeds faster than any internet feed I could find. Off season fun is well, more fun with you all.

Love the site. Thanks Rev (and your new hosts) for making it all possible (and I hope you are making bank at it, you deserve it).

It is a place where a fan can be a fan, happy or sad, and not feel alone or out of place. Also, we have excellent leadership (Thanks Rev!) that keeps things going in a good direction.

Either way, you’re absolutely right. I lurked forever before I finally joined and even after joining, I seldom comment. I’m just not online when everyone else seems to be…much like now. But I still read and enjoy HH every day. Best. Angels news source. Ever!

But this is definitely the best fan site! I’ve checked out other ones and they do not amount to the awesomeness and easy to navigate/post website. Plus, Rev is the shizzit! Lol and everyone who posts here obviously.

It's hard being a transplanted Angels fan

I live in Iowa, and while the Kernels play just a bit down the road, it’s really Cardinals/Cubs territory. Halos Heaven is great because I feel like I can talk about the GREATEST FRANCHISE IN SPORTS, and it reminds me of the good things where I spent the first twenty years of my life.

Halos Heaven is the perfect name for this place.

Exiled SoCal native in Washington State

I probably would have gone postal on the Mariners’ fans here (both of them) or stroked out while yelling at Sosh (via the TV) for starting Premium if it wasn’t for this site. My wife also thanks the HH community for the distraction as she loves the Angels too but gets tired of my bitching at the TV.
The official Angels site forum often reminds me of the Billy Madison quote “Nowhere in your rambling, incoherent response did you come close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. We are all dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.”
