(Don't judge my effort, BHM thanks for the email)
I've had a rough weekend, have to do this mostly via phone and apologize for this being late. Ill keep the poll for this one up an extra day, tomorrow will be the next planned matchup as scheduled. BHM's emailed case he sent me will be posted below because i hate SB Nations phone app. Also, I love puppies.
Jan 23rd:
Stirrups (7) VS YETIJUICE (26)
Jan 25th:
SubOptimal (3) VS Halos in DE (30)
Jan 27th:
ryanfea (14) VS RexTookMyStash (19)
Jan 29th:
Casey'sKissofDeath (11) VS ladybug (22)
Jan 31st:
RallyMonkey5 (6) VS BigTizzie (27)
(Note: I think we want to replace Tizzle with someone who is more active. Make suggestions below and lets get it figured out before the 31st.)
I am curious to know if Rev had some sort of answer from the tech guys about the potential reward of this whole thing. Eyespy's complete lack on interest made me think of a completely different tournament idea, inspired by the emails I've received. If Rev is feeling up to it maybe we can get a Lunch Talk thing going soon and discuss such matters. Until then I have ten showers to take.

5 THINGS FROM/ABOUT BRYANHARVEY’SMOUSTACHE
HIS FIRST ANGEL GAME ENDED IN JACK HOWELL POPPING UP WITH RUNNERS IN SCORING POSITION. ANGELS LOST.
WHEN ANGELS LOST VS. THE SKANKS IN 2009, HE WAS LIVING IN NYC. THE FOLLOWING DAY HE WORE HIS ANGEL HAT ON HIS 45 MIN SUBWAY RIDE LOUD AND PROUD DESPITE THE ELIMINATION.
HE BELIEVES THAT A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF BEING AN ANGEL FAN IS ACCEPTING/REMEMBERING/EMBRACING LOSING/THE LOSING YEARS. THIS MAKES WINNING ALL THAT MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE AND BUILDS CHARACTER. WITHOUT LOSING, WINNING MEANS NOTHING.
HE BELIEVED FOR A LONG TIME THAT DOV AND PHISLAMMA WERE ACTUALLY THE SAME PERSON: USC, FRAT BOY DROP OUT WHO BECAME A SUDDEN RECONIZABLE AND POPULAR PERSONALITY ON HH BECAUSE THEIR FATHER’S CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN THE VALLEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND THEY SUDDENLY FOUND THEMSELVES WITH WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON THEIR HANDS AND A PENCHANT FOR STUPID MEMES.
IF YOU DON’T THROW A MEAN FASTBALL WELL OVER 95 MPH, THEY YOU SHOULD BE A CLOSER (HERE’S LOOKING AT YOU BRIAN FUENTES)
That aside, Cupie makes awesome t-shirts and his musical acumen makes Rev’s art video series watchable ( just kidding, Rev…great work). But I too was in NY for the 2009 debacle, and I too wore my hat proudly (well, most of me anyway…I had one foot in the grave…or the toxic waste bin, or somewhere). On that basis (as well as the fact hat BHM is a loyal game thread blogger), I cast my vote for him. May the vote bot have mercy on my soul.
I feel like me and Cupie got some shit treatment here. After all the effort you put into those other posts and you can’t even put my email in the body of the post?
He created Panther. That should be enough in itself.
My favorite story about Cupie was when he made friends with a random vagabond from The Western Casino. Shirts and Phone numbers were exchanged. A friendship cemented. I saw the same person wandering around the El Cortez Casino the next day. Proudly wearing a Halos Heaven t-shirt.
If you ever find yourself playing 1 dollar blackjack at The Western, and the gentleman sitting next to you is wearing a vintage t-shirt from this site, cupie was the man who spread the gospel of HH.
Both those games were crappily played. This coming from a Pats fan.
That second game was just brutal to watch. Either we witnessed the two greatest defenses in the history of the NFL, or two of the poorer offensive performances ever in an NFC title game.
If it were not for the Pats defensive play in game 1, which unexpectedly played out of their minds, I would have dissed all four squads for wasting my whole damned day.
Your bad offense was still more than enough to beat those Giants yesterday.
Even going only 1 for 13 on 3rd down conversions. The difference was that your special teams were even more crappy than your offense, handing the Giants the TD they needed to extend the game, and the FG they needed to win it.
Honest to God, that game was such a lurch that I kept expecting the Giants to fumble away their chance on that final drive in OT as they refused to take the game winning FG play after play after play.
In case it is decided to replace Tizzle with someone more active, I can’t recommend higher than Britain and HH’s own The Limey.
This isn’t because he wrote such of an epic defense of my own candicacy, it’s because he’s a truly great, hilarious, well-informed and frequent poster. You can almost always bet the Limey’s posts are worth your two cents worth. He gave us the unforgettable compilation of all the Things GA is Too Lazy To Do.
He’s also a truly charming and funny gent in person, too — one of the only HHers I’ve met in person. He couples his wry English accent and humor with having spent his formative years in Yorba Linda, and he knows his stuff. Add to that he manages to follow the Angels and comment on them better than most of those who live 7000 miles closer, and pays a heap of money to watch as many games on TV, the net, or in person.
Not saying who I voted for in this contest, cuz both guys are tops.
I say Go Limey, though there are also other worthy of consideration…
Sorry BHM. But let's imagine that we are in a 747 flying to London,
Suddenly the entire flight crews gets hit with food poisoning they caught from the unlimited shrimp feast at the Red Lobster outside Gate 24, where they dined together just before takeoff.
While the flight attendants scramble to calm the 240 members of the Yemeni Marching Band, fresh from their appearance in the Rose Parade, one man calmly walks through the chaos toward the front of the plane with a smile on his face. After pausing briefly in the galley to grab a pair of beers, he climbs into the flight deck and slides into the captain’s chair. Leaving the systems on auto pilot he radios in a may day and requests immediate diversion to Iceland.
Using instructions from ground control, he is able to manipulate the auto pilot to land the plane brutally, but safely, in Reykjavík. Amidst all the confusion of emergency vehicles and personnel, and passenger evacuations, our man has disappeared. It is only later that we find out why Iceland. Our man is found lounging in the spa at The Hotel Ranga, beneath the Northern Lights and with the glow of active volcanoes off in the distance. He is sharing the hot tub with the visiting Swedish women’s cross country ski team. And more beer.
Now I ask you, which HH’er is more likely to be our man? BHM or cupie?
Based on the calm background role he commands here at HH, I gotta vote cupie.
as he is the reigning champion of the Pre-Game Picks. Also a HR would not be complete in the game threads without him. ************************44FAN!*********************************

one further
the fact that the guy could have been a body double for Gary Coleman might add a little levity to the story.

My vote for cupie too.

The man holds the leash on the Panther.
Rev Halofan - January 22, 2012
I will say this for Bryan Harvey's Moustache though
I play his spotify mixes so often i think that me and neil youg owe HIM back royalties.
Rev Halofan - January 22, 2012
Haha...on the flipside of that, Cupie once gave me a mix CD, like it was 1999. The cover was a page he tore out of a People magazine. Old school.
Not to mention the Lassie Foundation cd, which literally didn’t leave my car’s cd player for over a month.
Mayheminthehood - January 22, 2012
One time after drinking together at the local bar, Cupie invited me back to his home to eat tacos with him and his family.
The man is obviously nuts. And I like nuts.
Wait, what I meant was he is obviously crazy, and I like crazy.

First the Ravens pissed me off, then my buddy lost a grip of money on the Niners.

When i saw the Ravens Kicker running onto the field with 15 seconds i knew he would miss it
when the Pats won i knew the niners would lose
after the foward progress no fumble the game was over
DAD OF VLAD - January 23, 2012
I am with you. Once the Pats won, something deep down told me the football gods were gonna hand the NFC to the Giants.

more accurate than you would imagine
he’s even make sure to hook p the Swedish chicks with all his friends and make it to the suite in time to call Darby in Yorba Linda.

Still down with the Limey though. Either one can have my spot though I am like Juan Beniquez, nodbody’s sure whether I’m dead or alive.

I chosse the Limey earlier
he also turned it down like moi.

We wouldn’t have the Panther without him. And without the Panther, philosophically we have no HH.
