but I work in an office full of people all from Wisconsin who pretend Wisconsin is the only state in the world that matters and bandwagon harder than everyone you’ve ever known on Wisconsin sports teams.
They need to be silenced just this one season…for the sake of humbling these obnoxious turds.
Before this job, I never would have cared for a second.
Saints (even if SF slows them down, there’s no way they keep pace offensively)
Patriots (though it would be fun to see Denver win again)
Packers (it just makes me happy to see teams from NY fall short, though I’m hoping they don’t make the SB again)
Ravens (more experience, though I wouldn’t put it past the Texans defense to stop Flacco and A. Foster and TJ Yates do just enough to win)
And like that sport, I just love seeing brutal hits. Fights have shit to do with it. When I played football, I liked hitting guys. When I watch football, I like seeing guys hit. Simple, really.
The helmet to helmet stuff needed to go, so they're doing a decent job with that.
The “defenseless receiver” ones? There have been some whack calls on that, but sometimes I agree with them. I dont like seeing dudes get killed. But seeing a dude get his bell rung or a bone or two crushed will have me out of my seat.
I’m not rooting for the Saints just to piss you off. So take it easy. Not front running either. Don’t like the Packers and wouldn’t pull for them over the Niners.
East Village. 13th and 2nd. It’s and SF sports bar. Strange to think that such would exist but hey…it’s NY.
Personally, I’ve always thought it would be good to open up a So. Cal sports bar in NYC. Serve burritos and tacos, put a bunch of SD craft beers on tap…play only so cal teams…
cool history but it seems sorta touristy. East Village is aight. Its mostly NYU kids and snobby rich models in my experience. I just went there for the game….
I thought back to the AFC Championship game between Buffalo and Houston. The Oilers were up by like 32-34 points, thought the game was won, and ended up losing.
I guess from here on out i’ll pull for the 49ers. Don’t really like ‘em, just pulling for the West Coast now. All apologies to Rev (being a fan of the Pack) or Stirrups (since he’s a Pats fan).
NINERS!!!!!!

Go BRONCOS!!!!
docescobar07 - January 14, 2012
Usually I could go either way on that game,
but since everyone is hatin’ on Tebow so much I’d love to see the Broncos take that smirk of Brady’s face.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Everyone hating on Tebow?
The guy gets AT LEAST as much THE DUDE JUST WINS GAMES and HE’S SUCH A GOOD GUY crap as he does animosity.
Caseys Kiss of Death - January 14, 2012
He is a good guy
hk47 - January 15, 2012

everyone will regret it. Me especially.
Caseys Kiss of Death - January 15, 2012
Read the Rick Reilly article on ESPN this week
Tebow’s a great human being. Now, you can argue you’re “Tebow-ed” out, and I get that. You can blame the media for that.
It doesn’t change the fact Tebow is a great guy, and that’s really inarguable.
hk47 - January 16, 2012
But, I bet you are thrilled with how your Giants laid it on GB yesterday!
And the fact Tebow and Broncs got knocked out of the playoffs, so the Tebow talk will wane for now…
hk47 - January 16, 2012
Roger Lodge especially.
I wish Danny Boy would step to Rogelio on that issue.

Pretty sure NY teams are much more notorious for their massive bandwagons.

Or would you like me to post pictures in my Ron Dayne jersey?

Chompo - January 14, 2012
Saints!
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
I love football and my rooting scheme goes very similar to the MLB.
No Raiders(Dodgers)
No Boston(Pats)
No NY(Yankees)
No Dallas(Rangers)
After that, it’s whoever is the underdog or hasn’t won before(or in a long time).
So today that leaves me with TEBOWWWWWWWWWWW and Niners.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
No Raiders (A's)
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
I see what you're saying, but when the Raiders lose I never think about A's fans.
My mind goes straight to “Haha…stupid Dodgers fans.”

matthiasstephan - January 14, 2012
Good call, never give up until the whistle is blown
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
I know.
His teammates all pilling on and he walks to the sidelines.
One big hit is awesome (although leading with his hat was bogus, and unsafe), but just walking away is crap. Way too cocky.
matthiasstephan - January 14, 2012
He was probably a little rocked himself, whether he showed it or not.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
God, I love seeing a guy get the crapped knocked out of him.

Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Better than having your weakest link be your entire defense, like the Saints.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
what?
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
I was saying how the Saints defense sucked.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
Their points allowed during the regular season was better than the packers.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
They are both pretty bad. Aren't they both the bottom two in terms of yards against?
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
I'm not sure, but you're in the top two, in points in allowed in my heart.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
When you are getting slammed on the scoreboard
Running out the clock is not in your gameplan.
Lots of Passing yardage is made, in trying to catch up.

The levee is breaking early for New Orleans.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
Still early
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
On that note, their defense did look weak as shit there.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
P.S.
What you did there, I saw it.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
True. But when a team can't stop SF's run early in the game, it usually means they have a long day ahead of them.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
Yeah, giving up runs and a big pass play like that in the 1st, when their defense still has fresh legs.
They should be worried.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Who dat?
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012

Except the 49ers are a lot better than the Chiefs.
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
One team has more points than the other.

Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
Wow. I'm losing my shit right now.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Careful

blast21dave - January 14, 2012
That game made me very, very sad.
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
Depends
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Worse thing SF can do right now is relax at all.
They need to nail down even harder.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Holy shit man
Saints being the aints
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
Saints been plaing like this the past few games
Suck ass for a quarter and a halfish, then some record setting “O” produces.
eyespy - January 14, 2012
So how many pts
do the Saints usually give up before turning it around?
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
21-24
eyespy - January 14, 2012
I want to see Brees carted off the field after a Joe Theisman-like injury.
Then, and only then, can they let up.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
That's rather brutal. What do you have against Brees?
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
Part fantasy football vendetta. Part typical NFL bloodlust that needs to be satiated.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
So like the people who go to NHL games for the fights.
Alright.
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012

Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
NFL is the sport of peace.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012

The helmet to helmet stuff needed to go, so they're doing a decent job with that.
The “defenseless receiver” ones? There have been some whack calls on that, but sometimes I agree with them. I dont like seeing dudes get killed. But seeing a dude get his bell rung or a bone or two crushed will have me out of my seat.

Here here brother!
Been awhile since I’ve seen a glass-shattering check.
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
Yes. This.
Nothing like it in the world. Love it.
Fights are weak. Good checks are where the ultra-violence is.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
True.
The saints know how to score TD’s. And SF doesn’t exactly have a premiere pass defense.
Still a game until we have more points when the clock is 0:00.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012

Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Yeah, much more fun to watch than a blow out.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012

Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Saints defense, at it's finest.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
exactly
just like that 2 point conversion success by the Niners
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
HK47 play failed
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
looked like the 5 man infield failure.
angelsfan7 - January 14, 2012
I hate that defense so much
pretty much saying we give up without actually waiving the flag.
Although with Trout and Bourjos in LCF and RCF, that 5 man infield could be legit in a clutch situation….
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
Predictions?
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Fake FG attempt
for a heart-break TD
blast21dave - January 14, 2012

TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
Ouch
eyespy - January 14, 2012
Saints may have scored too soon
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
That's what I'm thinking
Now they have to make the 2 point conversion, and Alex Smith still has a minute and a half
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
Well okay, they got the conversion
Smith might still be able to pull it out though.
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
Is this going to be enough time for Smith?
eyespy - January 14, 2012
Could very well be enough
to re-enact “The Drive”
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
Here we go again!
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Rex, do the 49ers have any pockets left to pull miracles out of?

Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
Insane game. Props to both teams.
Can’t believe the saints were able to get that close after all those turnovers.
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
turned out to be better than it looked like it would be in the beginning.
angelsfan7 - January 14, 2012
Indeed so.

eyespy - January 14, 2012
unfortunately you're probably right.
angelsfan7 - January 14, 2012
Nah
this will be the catch-all thread for football today.
That and I’ve already updated the title.
blast21dave - January 14, 2012
Oh, NOW the Broncos defense decides to let scores in.
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
Must open Tebow overflow thread!
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Damn....down 14. Pats score another td and this game is over
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
If they can capitalize off of that pick, we got a game. Well, at least a decent game until NE scores again.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
true
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
TD that is. FG aint going to help them much in this game.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
Horrible throw
TheKingfish - January 14, 2012
iii Oraley TIMMAY !!!
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Can't trust the officials in New England
Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
Yeah...little iffy.
Even that second NE touchdown. I love Gronk, because he was a fantasy god for me this year, but that catch was sketchy.
Not sure where the unnecessary roughness was, either.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
I am so sick of the Tebow talk.
And I don’t like NE. At all. So, i’m pulling for no one. That’s right, i’m the Sweden of NFL playoff fandom.

Dono Romantico - January 14, 2012
We're everywhere.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Apparantly. I got there and there was a line around the corner. Can't believe I even got in.
I’m not a san franciscan myself. Lived there for a year. Always been a Niners fans, though. Rams never did it for me.
BryanHarvey'sMoustache - January 14, 2012
What was it called?
I was just out there.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Smugersons Bar and Smug.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
ಠ_ಠ
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Finnertys.
BryanHarvey'sMoustache - January 14, 2012
Awesome. I didn't get enough time to visit the east village. You could spend a month in each burrough..
I did get to go to Katz deli though, and to this German bier haus called Heildlberg. sp?
Just like SF though, I’m sure there are a lot of transplants out there so it’s not a bad idea.
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Never been to Katz....
cool history but it seems sorta touristy. East Village is aight. Its mostly NYU kids and snobby rich models in my experience. I just went there for the game….

halofolife - January 14, 2012
Denver needed an historic game from their D.
Historic in a good way, they got it backwards.
Mayheminthehood - January 14, 2012
THere's another game one?
RexTookMyStash - January 14, 2012
Technically, yes.
But not really, at this point.

Over/Under Pats break 70 in this game?
BryanHarvey'sMoustache - January 14, 2012
under
eyespy - January 14, 2012
Yeah, I can't imagine Brady playing much longer.
Safe thing to do is sit him. This game is over.
halofolife - January 14, 2012
But it's up to Bill
eyespy - January 14, 2012
And the minute I posted that,
I thought back to the AFC Championship game between Buffalo and Houston. The Oilers were up by like 32-34 points, thought the game was won, and ended up losing.
halofolife - January 14, 2012
MOTHER F-ing 49ers
such a great game
when VD made that catch i screamed and cheered waking both of my boys
DAD OF VLAD - January 14, 2012
Pretty bad beat down given by NE.
I guess from here on out i’ll pull for the 49ers. Don’t really like ‘em, just pulling for the West Coast now. All apologies to Rev (being a fan of the Pack) or Stirrups (since he’s a Pats fan).
