Well folks, WiHalofan is moving this weekend... no word on whether it is to the barn or the outhouse, but I am substituting with HALOLINKS for today, so let's get it on...
Angels pitching prospect Garrett Richards goes tonight in San Jose against the Single-A Giants in Game 2 of the Quakes/Giants California League Final. San Jose took Game 1 of this best of 5 contest on Thursday with a 10-0 shellacking. Saturday's GAME 3 is at the Epicenter here in SoCal and will feature DOLLAR hot dogs. Gates open at 6, it might be your last chance to see Mike Trout play in California until, well knock on wood (from a tree not Brandon), he is an Angel.
There is a detailed analysis of the Angels FIVE Catchers (count 'em, FIVE) at the LONG SUFFERING FANS blog.
There is a great commentary on the NY Jets Female Reporter Locker Room story at the IN PLAY NO OUTS blog.
Great reminder that Arte as owner should give Angels fans faith at the MONKEY WITH A HALO blog.
Angels prospect Jean Segura gets a shout out at the BASEBALL ANALYSTS site when looking at prospects who have climbed the depth chart for AL teams.
1963-64 Angel Paul Foytack wrote a nice, handwritten note to the ANGELS IN ORDER blog about his days in baseball.
At the TRUE GRICH blog, a detailed lamentation on the dwindling season.
The Angels renewed their association with the Arkansas Travellers thru 2012 to be their AA team, but the TRAVS AND SUCH blog ranted before this announcement about the shortcomings afforded Travs fans by Angels management.
So that was my attempt at Halolinks. Hope WiHalofan gets everything hooked up in time for Monday morning's version!

Not gonna lie, I don't really get the appeal of college sports
I just don’t understand rooting for, say USC, when I never went there and don’t know anyone on the team or anything like that.
Pro sports make sense to me because it generally goes: I’m from the LA area, so I like the pro teams from LA (or whatever city you grew up near). Also, the players in the pros are the best at their given sport, so I can even see people picking up some far away team just based on that.
Note: I’m not defending the NFL here, I think they should quit screwing around and move to LA already.

I agree with you
but USC was pretty much LA’s pro football team over the past decade. they helped fill a void for the area, but now that they’ve been raped and pillaged by Reggie and the NCAA, that void will be back very soon, and there will be a stronger push for an NFL team to come back to the area. at least, I hope (just no Raiders).

Don't worry about the Raiders coming back
It will never happen. But the Chargers owners may decide to move them here, and this whole blackout debacle only helps fuel that rumor. That would suck initially for me. I’m pretty sure I’d come around to rooting for them eventually. Philip Rivers is just such a bitch, anyone see him throw a tantrum all night monday?
I agree with Nate though. College sucks, and rooting for a school just because everyone else does is so annoying. We need a pro football team and bad!

I agree
I don’t get it either unless I went to the school, graduated from the school, worked for the school, or had family or friends associated with the program. It’s not like the players will stick around the school long enough anyway to follow them locally. I guess you can always root for a charismatic coach.

I just think the College games are more entertaining
The pace is just better in my opinion. The way NFL games are played, bores the living shit out of me.

Fail
ban-worthy fail! ;)

Today is Dan Haren's birthday, I wonder if the offense will give him any run support as a birthday present...nah probably not.
