Final Score in Ohio: Indians 4, Angels 3

Someone's fantasy team somewhere had a good night as .240 hitting Cleveland Left Fielder Shelley Duncan had 3 hits, 4 RBI and scored 2 runs in the game on his 2 HRs. If you are Angels starter Scott Kazmir, well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was your night at the theater?
Kazmir is now 8-14 on the season. Angels leadoff man Alberto Callaspo was 0 for 5 on the evening, making the first and last out of the game, that last one with the tying run on 3B and the go ahead run on 2B. Of the Angels nine hits, FIVE were doubles, plus a Peter Bourjos triple and, yep, not only did they just manage three runs, two of them came with two outs in the seventh inning. Do the math, folks: 9H (6XBH) = 3 R (1 L)

The lead-off spot seems jinxed this year
No matter who the batter is, he performs well for a few games then tanks. The team really needs to find a player (within or outside the organization) whose OBP stays above 400. Right now our options are Callaspo (.315), Aybar (.309), Kendrick (.305) and Willits (.353). Reggie’s number is sub-par, the others are pathetic.

A .400 OBP is tough to find
There are currently 5 players in the AL with a .400 OBP, and none of them are really leadoff-type hitters (maybe Barton). Anything .365 and up would be great.
Reggie’s OBP is above average, actually. The others are indeed pathetic.

This looks like;
A) The theoretical math formula showing Obamacare will save tax dollars.
B) The “name” of Jaguar’s newest vehicle.
C) “Premium” failure of a select few MLB teams.
D) The secret combination to the safe where Soth keeps his flowchart.
E) The license plate # of the alien spacecraft that sucked the mojo out of the 2010 Angels.
F) Other

BOTG: Peter Bourjos
He never even took his bat off his shoulder in the 9th.
Halo Hurricane - September 14, 2010
But he also provided the only excitement of the game
And he is BOTG protected the entire year.

I had a back to school night to go to
Before heading out the door I briefly turned on the game to see that play where a grounder went to Aybar, he lamely fell down trying to tag (and missing) the runner heading to second, and ended up getting no one out. Not sure if it led to anything, but I just thought “well that’s typical for 2010”, turned off the TV and headed off to the school.
I’m sure things will improve next year. This year – even after that little win streak we just had – just seems like a hazy, lost, confused year.

Nothing came of that fortunately, Cassevah for Hafner to ground into a DP.
I had the same thought when I saw it though, “2010 Angels Baseball, here we go again!”

Cassevah got Hafner*
Not sure how I messed that up
