The Angels have not scored a run for Jered Weaver in his last 30 IP... so today was no different...
Final Score in Anaheim: Angels 0, Orioles 1

In three games against Baltimore, the Angels scored 1 run. It was on a balk.
The Angels had no RBI in their three weekend games. The Angels have now gone 29 and one-third innings without a single RBI.
Jeff Mathis scored a run on a Howie Kendrick base hit with two outs in the 6th inning of Wednesday's game.
Let's clock that RBI at the 2-hour mark and agree that, as of 3:30 PM on Sunday afternoon, the Angels have gone 97 hours without batting in a run... and counting.
If they score in the first inning tomorrow night they will stop the streak before it hits 125 hours.
Jered Weaver would have more support bagging groceries at Trader Joe's. The Angels have not scored a run with him on the mound for 30+ consecutive innings. But hey, bench Mike Napoli, yeah...

Why isn't Abreu a choice?
hk47 - August 29, 2010
Where's Howie and his amazing GIDP with a runner on 3B?
red floyd - August 29, 2010
I think Billy Mac is about to go off on the Angels again
~MMP~ - August 29, 2010
Wow, cool that Becks is a Halo fan
Or at least his son.

This year
SUCKS
AngelKeith - August 29, 2010
Fuck you Torii Hunter
A lousy single ties it up but nooooooo have to try and slug one out and instead it barely reaches the outer edge of the infield dirt.
blast21dave - August 29, 2010
More goes on abreu.
All he had to do was hit it out of the infield in the air. Torii actually had to get a hit.
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
True
but Torii is expected to produce as well and needs to earn the money (as with all players but Torii more so) that they are paid
blast21dave - August 29, 2010
There are $18 million reasons that we should expect more of Torii
RedHatHalo - August 29, 2010
this
Moondoggy - August 29, 2010
It is not his fault the Angels overpaid for him

Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
at least he got a hit to setup a possible tie or win in the 9th
Abreu sucks and so does Hunter
hk47 - August 29, 2010
Pretty dang cheap hit.
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
a hit is a hit
give me a break
hk47 - August 29, 2010
Okay.
6th inning, flyball ties it. Weak groundball to short. Ballgame.
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
*flyball gives them the lead
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
could say the same about Abreu in the 9th
hk47 - August 29, 2010
it doesn't matter, this team is horrible
hk47 - August 29, 2010
This team is like a bad tooth
It hurts like hell, but I just can’t leave it alone
Moondoggy - August 29, 2010
I agree Moondoggy....
it just begins to stop hurting and then there is another game…
angelsfan7 - August 29, 2010
That was my point.
He GIDP’d and still managed to leave two people on base.
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
Who are ironically supposed to be the big power threats.
Thus making them all the more blameworthy.
Clutch - August 29, 2010
That is the problem. This team has been lacking in hitting power
for the last how many years now? The only exception was in 2002
when the Angels won the Championship with Glaus, Salmon, Erstad
and Spiezio among others. In all the other years, we win the AL West
and is fine and dandy with a lot of fans. The obvious lack of hitting
power is now being shown in full light! Not a surprise there by a
long shot. This problem has been there for years and ignored by
the front office. Angels philosophy seems to be to add pitchers
and pitchers only. Nothing else matters! On the plus side, the
front office has to deal with it now or we face 2011 with more
of the same disappointment. Here is to hoping the front office
opens its eyes this time.
JimmyBlue - August 29, 2010
2004 had power.
Remember the “G-Force”?
red floyd - August 30, 2010
Torii Hunter is 15th in the AL in OPS
Robviously - August 29, 2010
thatd be pretty cool if he wasn't batting 4
clover_black - August 29, 2010
and if he actually got a hit when it F%$King mattered
Moondoggy - August 29, 2010
Abreu didn't even need a hit.
Seems like this BOTG is more like a lifetime achievement award.
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
Who else?
Figgi4life - August 29, 2010 via mobile
not implying there is somebody better for that ...
just unfortunate he is in the 4 hole
clover_black - August 29, 2010
Right now, every slot on the lineup card is a hole.
Stirrups - August 29, 2010
Weaver, great job
(shaking head in disbelief)
hk47 - August 29, 2010
another great start gone to waste
hk47 - August 29, 2010
Jobbed out by his own team
blast21dave - August 29, 2010
By now the starters have to at least be thinking to themselves
“What the hell is the point??”
RedHatHalo - August 29, 2010
Won't be long
before Weaver and Haren ask to be put in the DH role causing some sort of black hole in the AL
blast21dave - August 30, 2010
At least WTY was showing life out there.
Nobody else was.
red floyd - August 29, 2010
Screw Abreu...........
norcaliangelsfan - August 29, 2010
screw the FO for signing him for two years

What a series!
We scored a run…
on a balk.
Niiiiiiice.
Zaius - August 29, 2010
I give up
The Rangers are keeping the door wide open and we get swept by the god damn Orioles.
Gokyle45 - August 29, 2010
again
hobbit_86 - August 29, 2010
This is a new level of fail...
…perhaps historical, even for an Angels team. No runs (excusing the gift on the balk) against a last place team?
I saw some pathetic Angel teams in the early 70’s. This team – at least for this series – is worse.
sothball - August 29, 2010
I agree.
I was right there with you. I also some incredible FAIL in the 70’s, but back then we did not pretend that we had a contender on the field. These guys have no excuse for this magnitude of sucktitude.
Stirrups - August 29, 2010
Is this a low-water point for this organization in the last 15 years or so?
No RBIs all weekend.
0-6 versus Baltimore this season.
This team is pathetic.
And I’m beginning to see why Torii Hunter has never made a World Series. This guy isn’t fit to lead a Little League team, let alone a professional one.
bc56274 - August 29, 2010
He may have been back in day, and in some ways still is.
But yes, today was incredi-fail.
Clutch - August 29, 2010
He has been ridiculously stupid all season long.
I didn’t watch the game today, but some of the stuff I’ve seen him pull this season
has been absolutely jaw-dropping.
Getting caught stealing at third base, down two runs in the ninth inning, in Baltimore,
was the stupidest baseball play I’ve ever witnessed.
bc56274 - August 29, 2010
I dunno. Getting doubled off first last night is pretty close.
Not so much that he got doubled up, but the WAY he got doubled up. It was like he was thinking that if he was going to blow it on the basepaths, he might as well blow it on a ginormous scale. He probably regrets not burning the basepaths and getting a chance to slide headfirst into home before the throw came back to 1st base.
Stirrups - August 29, 2010
another wasted Weaver Start
atleast our best hitter is not going to the Soxs
oh wait he is
what will the women of Newport do if nap leaves?
DAD OF VLAD - August 29, 2010
Just find another guy with a ridiculously manicured beard
aces666high - August 29, 2010
Hello Ervin Santana.
Teixeira Who? - August 29, 2010
Interesting looking at the standings
all the teams with a .500 record or better have a positive run differential while the suck teams (including the Angels) have a negative run differential!
I guess now we have to beg the baseball gods for some lowly runs.
blast21dave - August 29, 2010
you just realized that?
phoenix15 - August 29, 2010
Seems like the Angels of this season
tried to ignore all the warning signs of suckitude thinking we can still do this. Now it seems like just finishing with 81 wins is going to be difficult.
blast21dave - August 29, 2010
Why is Tony Reagins' name missing from the poll?
scareduck - August 29, 2010
that’s
tomorrow, if he gives Naps over to the BoSox for a slap hitting middle IF
phoenix15 - August 29, 2010
The Angels are likely pulling him back
http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/red_sox/index.php/2010/08/29/red-sox-claim-napoli/
~MMP~ - August 29, 2010
if he give Nap to the Sox...
that is worse than any thing that Stoneman ever did. Why would you willingly give an Angel to a team that we detest.
angelsfan7 - August 29, 2010
First-ever season sweep by the O's, and they're in last place this year
Jesus t**ty f**king Christ! This is the first time in a long time that I am actually looking forward to the start of football season. Can’t believe I was actually excited to watch this series on TV instead of MLB.TV.
Big Easy Halofan - August 29, 2010
Haha same here (about mlb.tv)
BrentSchmidt - August 29, 2010
Fail
…. i got nothing. Bring up the RC guys. I went there last night and at least they can hit and score. Trout sucked, but he can move in the outfield. The rest were on fire.
Zookeeper - August 29, 2010
Everytime I think the Angels have already hit rock bottom
They pull out the shovel and dig a little deeper.
RedHatHalo - August 29, 2010
yup
angelsfan7 - August 29, 2010
what the?
just got back from fishing in the sierras for the past 4 days and am just now seeing that Fuentes is gone to the Twins (guess the Capps trade was a bust?), and Napoli could go to the BoSox.
craziness
2pintsofbooze - August 29, 2010
Capps is fine, they need BP depth
hauldog - August 29, 2010
You and I both
I just pulled into town from Big Sur last night and saw all the news. What the hell happened? I’d also like to point out that I pulled into town from Big Sur last year to find Kazmir as an Angel and Morales going 5 for 5. Oh how a year changes things.
Teixeira Who? - August 29, 2010
I wonder if 2 - 14 pitchers everywhere are checking the schedule to see if they can get a crack at the Angels
RedHatHalo - August 29, 2010
Scott Kazmir wishing for a trade ......to save career .
he knows he can shut the LAA lineup with ease , even a no hitter is possible .
Ed@northridge - August 30, 2010
The way he is pitching is a joke. They should trade him. His performance
in last year’s playoff should have been enough to get rid of him. Damaged
goods that he is, only the Angels are the fools for even taking him! Kazmir
cannot shut this Angel line up as bad as it is! That says a lot about him
as a pitcher.
JimmyBlue - August 31, 2010
Hurray for football season
Angels not even relevant anymore.
pam s - August 29, 2010
I've never even pitched...
and i would like a crack at this Angels lineup. I think I’d have a good shot at a CG.
Downing Rules - August 30, 2010
Lame
hauldog - August 30, 2010
Let's face it. If things don't improve, WTY is going to pull a Lackey and be gone. Why would he stay somewhere that the offense doesn't do shit for him?
red floyd - August 30, 2010
One bad year? Don't be ridiculous
hauldog - August 30, 2010
if Lackey left
due to lack of run support, than he must have focused on previous seasons since the season he left was the best offensive season in the team’s history.
Lackey leaving was purely about the $$$, and it will probably be the same for Weaver when he is a free agent.
