UPDATE: Time to vote for your favorite. Vote cut-off is at the start Tuesday's Angels/Red Sox game
HH poster tehphil sent me this screencap from a recent Colorado Rockies game. I completely forgot about the Angels World Series win in 1987 and Don Baylor's role in that championship!
How about an Day Off Photoshop contest? Using this messed up bit of fiction as a template, create a "Legendary Player" picture (click to enlarge). The winner will receive the autograph photo of Ken McMullen that I didn't give away before.
Entries must be submitted by the start of tomorrow's Angel/Blue Jay game and the winner will be selected by the community.

“I completely forgot about the Angels World Series win in 1987 and Don Baylor’s role in that championship!”
To be fair, Baylor was more of a supporting player on that Angel team. The victory was more from the efforts of future and current HOFers Bert Blyleven and Kirby Puckett.
Puckett, Hunter: We’ve had pretty good luck signing former Twin center fielders! Well, at least the ones after Bostock.
I don't know if the PE has changed a lot since I left Riverside in '92,
but I didn’t appreciate that paper until I moved to the SF area. It was so much better than almost everything else available it was shocking. We finally settled on reading the SF Chronicle, but later found out that the San Jose paper was pretty good. Nothing local to the east bay was worth more than lining a canary’s cage.
good job AlanFalcon, now I won’t be able to waste time at work trying to do one…wait I do it as an excuse to “enhance my photoshopping skills” (horray for being a marketing intern)
All 3 of my kids did Irish Dance. My daughter retired after Fibromyagia diagnosis :>( Son retired from dance to pursue track/CC at high school. He loved the fact that there were 200+ girls dancing for every boy. He still dances around the house for fun.
Celtic Gold used to be at the Brothers of St. Patrick (Beach & Bolsa) when my kids were there. Other OC dance schools are in South County & Fullerton area.
but they were already so busy in dance that they only got a smattering one summer when their studio director brought in a ballet teacher who also teaches Irish dance in SF. They loved it.
Dave Kingman hit one of his monster shots into the roof at the homer dome in 1984 and it never came down (got caught in the rafters or something). So before the following game, someone had the bright idea to drop a ball from the rafters , Hatcher would catch it, an umpire would call Kingman out, and Kingman would go nuts on the ump. High comedy. It was foiled, however, when Hatcher lost the ball in the white dome and it hit him in the leg.

Anyone else notice Rex Friggin’ Hudler on MLB Network? Glad to see him back to broadcasting. I think they’ve made him a regular.

I wonder if someone in their marketing dept.
saw this and went to management saying “we’re relevant! we’ve managed to stick in the minds of Angels faithful. the ad campaign worked!!”
2pintsofbooze - August 12, 2010
Annoying marketing works
that means we should expect more to come. Oh the huge manatee!
RexTookMyStash - August 12, 2010
NOOOOO!!!!!
I hate this friggin’ commercial. It causes my ears to bleed and leads to my indiscriminate kicking of puppies and small children.

Sorry for my horrible MS paint skills. I just had to mention a true legendary player:
RexTookMyStash - August 12, 2010
How do you post the pic from MS Paint, Rex?
Halos2011champs - August 12, 2010 via mobile
Save it to my computer, then I upload it to my photobuck account and post the html code.
www.photobucket.com It’s free as well.
There are other ways to do it but I like to keep it simple.

2pintsofbooze - August 12, 2010
I browse over the main page posts here and at other SBN blogs
On occasion I’ll look at the comments. I figured a photoshop contest might be a good one to look at the comments on.

No more San Bernardino County Sun. One of the worst papers around, although the Press Enterprise isn’t great, it’s much better than the Sun.

favorite Mickey Hatcher story
Dave Kingman hit one of his monster shots into the roof at the homer dome in 1984 and it never came down (got caught in the rafters or something). So before the following game, someone had the bright idea to drop a ball from the rafters , Hatcher would catch it, an umpire would call Kingman out, and Kingman would go nuts on the ump. High comedy. It was foiled, however, when Hatcher lost the ball in the white dome and it hit him in the leg.
