Final in 10 innings: Big Macs 2, Royale with Cheese 1
Bobby Abreu blasted a big fly to right in the bottom of the 10th inning, making a winner of the Angels for the third straight game against the Royals. The home run also made a winner of Brian Fuentes who all of a sudden has figured out how to get hitters out with a minimum number of pitches. Fuentes pitched a one-two-three 10th, and now has allowed just one run in his last 19 innings.
Today's game featured some ace-on-ace action. As Halos Heavens poster Slyintine pointed out, for the fourteenth time this season, Jered Weaver was once again facing the opposing team's ace. This time Weaver was matched up against Kansas City's number one guy and last season's Cy Young award winner, Zack Greinke. Another Weaver fun-fact that continues to frustrate fans (and no doubt Weaver himself) is the lack of support from the Angels offense. In Weaver's 7 loses, the Angels have managed to score a whooping 9 runs. Once again, Weaver pitched well enough to win, throwing 8 innings of 6-hit baseball, while striking out 11 and walking two. Of the 6 hits, just the one mistake to Yuniesky Betancourt that left the yard was hit hard. The rest were jam-shots and bloop hits that found holes just out of the reach of the Halo defenders.
Abreu's home run was the first walk-off home run since Howie Kendrick homered in the ninth against the David Aardsma of the Mariners on May 30th.
The Angels are now 6-4 in August, and have won five of their last 6 games.

Let's feast on some BBQ'd blue jay this weekend and keep this damn streak going.
Fear the Halo Texas.

It won't be easy.
The Jays swing big bats.
And the freaking Rangers just fail to go on a big losing streak.

Bobby hits like a (the) Man!
Walk off HRs should be counted as two home runs.
And not just because I picked two for the pregame, of course.
Go Skankys!
vladtheimpaler - August 11, 2010
Bobby is it for me.
Jered was awesome but this would be a different year if we saw more hits like that…

Gotta be Bobby
Weave was studly but if Bobby didn’t hit that we’d still be playing ball and our blowpen would be getting abused
Epic Dean - August 11, 2010
Weaver
He kept us in it. If this was another Kazmir Nightmare, Bobby wouldn’t have had another at bat anyway because KC would have scored 8 runs.

Downing Rules - August 11, 2010
I suppose Haren could be Katy Perry... (the long hair fits)
But that would make Weaver Snoop Dogg…
Actually I like it. “California Gurls we’re unforgettable… West Coast represent now put your hands up…” You see now I’m just thinking of Weaver and Haren singing and dancing to this tune.

my girlfriend IM'ed me in the 9th while I was at work
I was away from my desk for a while, and when I returned I was greeted with the following series of instant messages:
“it’s the bottom of the 9th, one out, tie score.”
“mice tits got on base. two outs.”
“mice tits stole. howie kendrick is up.”
“two outs, man on 2nd.”
“they’re walking kendrick to face mathis.”
“now they’re in the 10th”
I laughed aloud when I read that last one.

produced by Will ferrell about a guy who used to be an MLB closer and won the WS years ago. his arm went south though but he still thinks he’s the man. he goes back to his home town and is basically a dick to everyone. I didn't think the show was that funny..
the main character is just too obnoxious. I realize that’s on purpose and that is will ferrel-type humor, I just don’t like it that much but that one girl on the show has the greatest boobs!! I’ve watched the show just to see her and the last episode had a great frontal nudity scene of her, wow!
