Final Score in Arlington of Dallas: Angels 6, Rangers 2

The Moon tonight, shined really bright
deep in the heart of Texas
Midsummer pride, will soon have died
with annual collapses
Ervin Santana allowed two meaningless solo HRs in eight dominant Innings Pitched against the slowly dying Rangers offense on Saturday night as Texas started their annual midsummer collapse like clockwork.
Of six meager runs scored in the first three games of this series, Michael Young has accounted for three or all but three. It is a fact that may be connected to the Rangers imminent collapse, but baseball players tend to overachieve when they first start using cocaine but start to fall out of their game after continued use.
What else could possible explain the Rangers eking out almost no runs in the Launching Pad of Arlington? To read the analysis of Rangers fans, it could not possibly be the Angels and their superior pitching and clutch LOBster hitting. Cannot be the easy schedule, hmmm... the plot thickens, as do the mucous membranes of the nasal cavity when you party too long in manager Ron Washington's office. But hey, they don't call them "players" for nothing now do they Ronnie?
As far as the standings go, with 40% of the season to be played, the Rangers are going to party like the Angels did in 1995. Sorry boys, coke was illegal back then too, your treasured Miami Vice episodes notwithstanding...
In a game where Jeff Mathis homers, no deep analysis is needed, 'twas the work of the lord, or perhaps the gravitational pull of the July Full Moon setting off the first domino of doubt in Dallas tonight...

Nerd?
I don’t know who she is but I am admiring the engineering involved in making that dress stay up.

Not sure glue isn't involved, though.

If you look again...
You’ll notice two sturdy structural support beams that are really key to the whole thing.
Commander_Nate - July 25, 2010
I see those spaghetti straps that disappear under her arms.
Not enough support to keep the top part from shifting if she moves a little. I’d love to see the back of this dress.

Psst, Rev.
Unless you’re saying the Rangers are afraid of mice, I think the word is eking. Doesn’t look right at all, but the original word is eke.
opiejeanne - July 24, 2010
spell check said no to EAKING
and no to that spelling as well. Did not want to go the art route and make a Thomas Eakins reference……

Don't get cocky Rev.
Somehow that can always come back to bite us.

Restraint please
there is much piling on coming as the planets push us toward a date with destiny.
Rev Halofan - July 24, 2010
Sigh... Missed the one win over Texas!...
…because I already had plans/tix to see Inception.
Although that was a good movie, I still think Momento/Shutter Island are in front of it. However, if you like a thinking man’s type movie, it’s a great time if you have not seen it yet.
RedFog - July 24, 2010
-1 for talking about movies.
norcaliangelsfan - July 24, 2010
Inception is worth losing points
pretty good especially when the one dreamer wets his pants
Rev Halofan - July 24, 2010
Yeah I admit bringing up a movie is poor form as this isn't IMDB...
…but not that I said that, who wet their pants?!???!
Man, I was busting my two sober brain cells to follow that movie, and I love Nolan movies, so maybe I was concentrating too hard and missed it.
RedFog - July 24, 2010

Rev Halofan - July 24, 2010
Ahh good stuff, will keep an eye out for it the second time I watch it ;)
I plan on making a few more drinks and hopefully induce myself to enter level 2 dreamscape tonight.
And if the Angels somehow manage to win the division, I’m going into limbo level. No kick ever needed to bring me out.
RedFog - July 24, 2010
That's why when they a "arrived" in LA it was pouring down rain
Not the Greatest Movie Ever Made, but more thought went into Inception than in the combined major release slate for the entire Summer. I’ll see it again, but I did notice I thought more fondly of it a few days later than when I walked out of the theater.
George Kaplan - July 25, 2010
inception is the 3rd greatest movie of all time.
according to imdb.
The terrorists have won.
clover_black - July 24, 2010
Matrix minus Socialism plus a genius schoolgirl
Sounds neck and neck with Star Wars and Cuckoo’s Nest if you ask me…
Rev Halofan - July 25, 2010
That girl is hot in a...hot way. Maybe geek hot, not sure.
Didn’t realize she was the acress from Juno.
RedFog - July 25, 2010
i am not into the young ones
they chose youth to take out any sexuality from the character to not complicate an already complicated plot and it just made for a bland hotness.
Rev Halofan - July 25, 2010
Yeah but the IMDB rankings normalize... They always do.
Avatar at the start was the #1 film based on pure score (blasphemy and then some) but somehow their system grinds things down eventually.
In the same genre, I think Momento, and more recently Shutter Island were better films.
This is not even a top 25 or top 50 film but it doesn’t mean it’s not a damn good ride and worth seeing in the theater if you are into these kind of movies.
RedFog - July 25, 2010
forgot about Avabarf
glad the academy did too…
Rev Halofan - July 25, 2010

I liked it, but ist nowhere near top 3 of all time, IMHO.

ryanfea - July 24, 2010

Was a great game to be at, other than the crazy humidty going on there. We had seats in 325 right behind home plate with a great view (reminded me of my Dad’s old season ticket spot at the Big A). Barely any Angels fans were present, which was a bit shocking. One dude in our section had an old Disney era hat which lit up at night, so that was pretty cool.
Fans were good for the most part with me wearing my Weaver jersey (which he signed!) and hat, but of course there were a couple trying to talk trash…. All I ever said back to them was “So how many rings do the Rangers have, let alone playoff series wins?” and that seemed to shut them up quick, lol.
BrentSchmidt - July 25, 2010
hey...
were you the guy holding up the huge Angels banner near the end of the game? (right behind home plate)
dr-awkward - July 25, 2010
Nah, didn’t see that… it’s really hard to spot the Angels fans there though, as they’re shirts/jersey looks almost alike with the font, and of course the whole red and red thing, lol.
Here’s my pix from the game… not the best camera, but hey, got the job done.
