As I posted in the "Must Win" thread....
this is where we make our move. Matsui’s heating up finally and we have Maicer back (finally as well). This series will dictate so much. I think we’ll luck out and grab 3 of 4 this series and end up 3 games out. Then over the next month, we’ll slowly chip away until finally, at the end of August, it will be a dead even race.
If we do manage to grab 3 from the Rangers in their house, I think we’ll see Arte deal a coule minor leaguers for Scott Downs in the bullpen and if he isn’t traded, we’ll promote Mike Kohn and then we’ll be set.

it appears that as long as we keep everyone else but Vlad quiet
we might be ok;

I feel somewhat confident
with Weaver, the guy hell on rightys, to pitch against Vlad, but anyone else just intentionally walk Vlad. Good to see Rivera, Matsui, and Torii start to heat up last series. Izzy needs to be played at least 3 out of 4 games, his clutch bad is needed. Maybe Izzy can DH today for Matsui (Maicer is a switch hitter), then depending on Howie and Frandsen’s performances put him in 2nd or 3rd. This gives Izzy rest in the DH spot, while putting him in for his bat.
