A great interview from Thursday's Angels Warmup of GM Tony Reagins, interviewed by Jeff Biggs.

Tony Reagins was quite clear about embracing the wealth of talented catchers that the Angels have. Mike Napoli rumors and speculation in the media is just that: rumors and speculation. "Most of what you read is far from the truth!" I guess that little birdy out there in Angels blog land did not talk to Tony before twerping to the twerp. On Brandon Wood: Tony observes that his batting practice sessions have been going great. Reagins does not rule out a rental player, "We are going to look to improve." TONY REAGINS AUDIO

Also here is some audio of Mike Scioscia discussing the eye injury to Juan Rivera: MIKE SCIOSCIA AUDIO

The credibility of the little birdie is now suspect at best.
When Reagins makes a move, it is always something out of left field and a player or

players nobody has even discussed. Speculation is fruitless, and more often than not, makes the speculator look like a fool. Because of this secrecy it still makes the Angels the favorite team to speculate about.

Do you have a blog I can subscribe to?
Something out of left field?

But we already have like 3 left fielders!

That settles it.

We’re getting Cliff Lee :D

LOL about the birdie ;o
"We are going to look to improve."

Excellent interviewing skills to elicit such groundbreaking information.

Still, that does differentiate the Angels from the Pirates
The Pirates are looking to improve, too.

They just have decided to not take any active participation in the effort.

Yeah, well, GM’s always say that and then the next day, what do you know, Napoli’s a Yankee or some shit.

Like Lady Gaga Reagins appears to have his poker face on....

Which leaves me Torn like Natalie Imbruglia, meanwhile Jack Z is Calling All Angels like Train, and Napoli, looking to fullfill his kinky needs is downtown asking for the Red Light Special, and some TLC…..

Naps stays = me happy

At this point, Napoli looks like a good candidate for team MVP (if it’s not Quinlan). He has taken over for Morales in every way possible, except he doesn’t speak Spanish as far as I know. If we trade him now, we are really tempting fate.

I heard him on XM a few days back and he said we will be 'active', and specifically mentioned the bullpen.
Well, that's reassuring.

It’s good to know they aren’t totally blind to how SCARY BAD our ’pen is. Hey! I just realized something! It has been a looong time now since us Angel fans have used the typical pre-trade deadline chant of “we need a big bat.”

The only birdies talking to Chuckles are his fellow turkeys
Did you get that from an inside source? ;)
Naps better stay an Angel...

Napoli is the one guy I’ve followed since he was on the Quakes. He hit 2 homers against the Jethawks the first time I saw him. And I’ve liked him ever since.

It would suck big time to see him on any other team but the Angels.

Reagins doing nothing souds great

Considering his last several decisions are suspect. At best, he’s been an “average” GM thus far.

I would disagree
who's better?

Trading Kotch for Teixeira was bad? Signing Hunter was bad? Signing Fuentes was bad? Signing Abreu was bad?

Just my opinions, but here you go

Trading for Tex: good move. Letting Tex walk: won’t know for another couple of years until the draft choices either make the majors or not

Signing Hunter: good move thus far. Torri has a 2.4 WAR this season which, thus far, is below last season’s 3.8 WAR. Let’s see how those 2011 and 2012 seasons work out for us at $18m per year.

Signing Fuentes: bad move. After last night’s game – plus a littany of simialr games, what more needs to be said. Just counting saves is a really stupid stat.

Signing Abreu: the one year, $5m deal for 2009 was very good; the decision on the two year $19m deal signed in 2010 is suspect and currently trending toward bad move. Abreu’s WAR last year was 2.8, in 2010 it’s an uninspired WAR of 0.6.

Trading for Kazmir: bad move. Tampa Bay fleeced him.

I hope Kazmir puts up ridiculous second-half numbers, just for you.

I sincerely hope he does too!
You know how they say there's "coachspeak?"

Can we call this “G.M.-speak?”

perfect example
So you thinking that Napoli possibly gets moved?

I have no idea, except Reagins comments mean little in regards to the possibility.

The Cubs have Carlos Marmol

and other interesting bullpen pieces like Bob Howry. Howry should be cheap, but Marmol might cost the Angel’s a good prospect or two.

Marmol is no better than Fuentes.

Also there is no chance we go get a closer at the deadline as we have two on our roster already and one waiting in the wings.

there is no chance that there is no chance

saying there is no chance has no chance of being accurate
