Shit, Adam Gaylord and Parker Bangs are gone
Imagine having the gaylord-gangs duo as your 3-4 hitters

they’d be unstoppable

The Oakland A's have a really bad phone
Never mind, technical difficulties with the conference call as a whole
At #954, the Angels select 2B Michael Sodders from New Mexico State U
The Mets guy sounds like he's hungover
Dodgers just drafted Andre Ethier's brother
At #984, the Angels select C Brew Beuerlein from UNLV

BRews on your mind?
Just finished my last final EVER.

I’m now officially a 3rd year DPT student in a 3-year doctorate program.

What better way to celebrate than to follow rounds 31-50 of the MLB draft?

congrats man!

I’ve been out of business school for almost 1.5 years. And boy do I miss it.

Congrats!

My friend is in his first year of one of those programs at San Marcos.

So. My friend has a boat.
I'm on a boat.

Now look down, now look up.. I’m on a horse!

Congratulations!
Congrats!

I took what I thought was my last grad school final ever about 15 years ago — only to return to college again last year. I have a final next week, but it’s in a class I’m taking just for fun.

Congrats

I still have massive pile of finals
That’s why I get paid the big bucks (not)

DPT requires a degree

I saw that in a porno once and did not realize the actress had studied it for so many years.

Comedic inspiration truly doth cometh from strange and far off places
Indeed, once in a great while there is a late round pick "surprise"

I think the most famous would have to be Mike Piazza. Tommy Lasorda tells it as:
“No one drafted Michael. Finally, I told our club, ‘I want him drafted.’ We sent five scouts to see him and they told the Dodgers they still didn’t want to draft him. We took him in the 62nd round. That meant there were 1,026 players drafted in front of him.”

By the same token, I’m sure we could make a long list of first pick busts. The most well-known being Steve Chilcott, the first pick by the Mets in the ’66 draft, picked before Reggie Jackson. We all know where Jackson went from there. As for Chilcott… he never got past Triple A.

But that’s what is kind of fun about the draft. It’s a gamble, and there is no way of knowing if that “can’t miss” kid who does so well in high school or college can carry that over to the major leagues. Every player picked has the potential to be a pleasant surprise, or a huge disappointment. Flip a coin and hope..

At #1044, the Angels select 1B Jerod Yakubik from Ohio U
I just realized I missed one of the picks

It was RHP Eric Cendejas from Cal St Stanislaus at #1014

At #1074, the Angels select OF Ryan Rivers from UNC Charlotte
At #1104, the Angels select C Hampton Tignor from University of Florida
At #1134, the Angels select CF Tagan Struhs from WA(no school)
I have a dumb question

What happens with all these guys in the lower rounds? Do they all get signed and start in low A or that Arizona development league? Do a lot of them keep playing in college or HS or whatever to try to earn a higher draft position next year? And what’s this rash on my back?

Thanks guys.

They can do either really.

Some just want to get started in pro ball and sign, others want to go back to school and reenter the draft further down the read.

I think

about 25-30 players sign from the draft, so about half

they will go to AZL or Orem both Rookie leagues

the ones that go to the AZL are mostly highschool guys and the ones who go to the Orem Owlz are mostly from college

it's all so clear now

thanks!

At #1164, the Angels select 3B Jace Brinkerhoff from Utah Valley U
At #1194, the Angels select 2B James Allen from Rancho Buena Vista HS, CA
The Royals just drafted Dale Cornstubble. He has an awesome name
I want a fantasy team

stocked only with guys with awesome names like “Cornstubble” and Poovey"! How awesome would that be!

At #1224, the Angels select C Andrew Oldfield from Dixie State
At #1254, the Angels select RHP Justin Poovey from University of Florida
Life moves quick.

I just looked through all the players that we drafted this year so far.. Not a single one of them is older than me, the oldest one is 5 months younger. Haha.

I was thinking the same thing.

Course I’m 43…

At #1284, the Angels select RHP Chance Mistric from Louisiana State U at Eunice
Tampa Bay forgot how to work the draft
At #1314, the Angels select CF George Barber out of Brevard Community College
Michael Turner, OF, at 1344
At #1344, the Angels select LF Michael Turner from Chesapeake College, MD
i just wanted to beat you this once

:-D

That crappy guy from the Royals? This is a clear overdraft.
