The Angels have done better against teams both clubs have played against, however the difference is the other teams they've played. The Rangers are 11-0 against Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Houston, and Florida, while the Angels have gone 6-3 against the Dodgers and Cardinals.
Oh, and the Angels have gone 0-2 against the Rangers.

To add to your breakdown, or spin it from a different light
Although the Angels no longer lay claim to the toughest schedule in baseball YTD, they still have had the 5th hardest strength of schedule so far. The Rangers? They have had the easiest schedule of any American League club. What does the future hold for our friends from Texas? Well, try these facts on for size:
The Rangers record against winning teams: 12-18
The Angels record against winning teams: 20-23
Rangers road record against winning teams: 3-13
Games remaining on the road against (current) winning teams: 26
Rangers home record against winning teams: 9-5
Games remaining at home against (current) winning teams: 25
Rangers home record: 26-11
Rangers road record: 18-17
Games on the road after the All-Star break: 42
Games at home after the All-Star break: 31
By contrast, the Halos:
Angels road record against winning teams: 10-13
Games remaining on the road against (current) winning teams: 26
Angels home record against winning teams: 10-10
Games remaining at home against (current) winning teams: 24
Games on the road after the All-Star break: 34
Games at home after the All-Star break: 37
Conclusion? The Rangers really are fattening up on losing teams, going 32-10 against poor opponents. Unfortunately, they won’t have such an easy path the second half of the season. Over half of their games are on the road. Over half their games are against winning teams. They will most likely perform more poorly over the second half. Yet, instead of injuries, or the heat, it will simply be because they are playing tougher competition.
johnnyangel101 - June 25, 2010
Unfortunately, they're going to be playing us a lot.
And they seem to own us.
JDT217 - June 26, 2010
man
f the rangers. they have this winning streak because they have been playing weak teams. the marlins, astros (twice) and the pirates. cmon. will see if they can hold up this lead or just go down the drain like they do every year
Drizzy23 - June 25, 2010
karmis
RexTookMyStash - June 25, 2010
Did you read my fanpost???
it was focused at the fact that they have been playing AAAA competition and still had around 10+ games ahead with nothing but AAAA teams (i.e; pirates, marlins, astros, etc,) all the while we played teams in the thick of a penant such as the dodgers, A’s, blue jays and so forth. But go look at who they play right out of the gate in the 2nd half and through the first 20 games and you’ll see the nice bomb in place for their fans’ hopes while the Angels play mediocre to AAAA teams such as the Royals, orioles, mariners, and so forth.

Wow, nearly two weeks ago and he gives attitude to someone who doesn't remember his brilliance.
snowhor - June 25, 2010 via mobile
who's giving attitude??? LOL....ur funny!
and then you use brilliance directed towards me….such a kid.
Halofanatic - June 25, 2010
what are you and english teacher???
as well done….LOL….what a clown you are. You clowns better have a little more respect since you guys haven’t even been around that long. So don’t go puffing your chest out.
Halofanatic - June 25, 2010
In other words... Your post was lazy shit.
You linked to info rather than putting it into some meaningful form. That makes it less well written than this well put together post by wihalo. If you wanna pass on links to thinks do a fanshot.
Knowing the english language does not make you an english teacher, posting crap posts will get you ragged on.
Balls and Strikes - June 25, 2010 via mobile
ragged on??
LOL….i’ll tell you what……when you become somebody….then come and rag on me you lil ass hat
Halofanatic - June 25, 2010
Dude, your post was crap. Take it like a man.
If I post shit like that, feel free to talk as much trash as you want.
You post lame ass shit like “hey the angels had a harder schedule than the rangers the first half. Click these 17 links and look at the information.” Well no shit. We all know they had a harder schedule. That is why your post was garbage. It was redundant with what we already know. Nothing new, nothing insightful. Redundant.
Why this one is good and why I am laughing at you for acting like Wihalofan stole your idea is because he took all that info and compiled it into a meaningful post.
Where you say, “duh… the sun is bright.”
Wihalo says, “the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second”
Where you say, “it smells funny when I piss myself”
Wihalo says, “here is a diaper”
And now I am laughing at you for acting as though you have some sort of significance because you registered two years ago. Pathetic.
Balls and Strikes - June 25, 2010
I don't even have a problem with his post you lame
my issue is with you and how you have all the confidence to put anyone down in here like you own this place. why dont you get off my nuts and have a little more respect for others you dont even know well enough or we’ll meet up and settle it and then i’ll bet you next time you’ll twice before you act like you’re all big and bad.
Halofanatic - June 26, 2010
you are an idiot.
Balls and Strikes - June 26, 2010
you are a punk for disrespecting me through the comfortable universe that is your mom's basement
and not knowing who I am and how badly i’d beat your ass if you said that to my face. homo.
Halofanatic - June 26, 2010
Who are you roger lodge?
Maybe you can pop a few viagra and fix your comb-over first. Then maybe you can enlighten everyone to why you are soooo important we should care enough to not call your poorly written shit post a shit post and pretend like it was good. Mental disabilities? You type through a microphone because you lost your hands in desert storm? Or your just an egocentric prick who thinks he means something in the world?
Balls and Strikes - June 26, 2010 via mobile
LOL....i'm gonna have fun punking you in REAL life.
Halofanatic - June 26, 2010
You write you dont have a problem with me calling your post lame, and yet all your anger stems from that
Let me summarize the events for you…
You act like we are all supposed to know you posted a shit post on this topic 2 weeks ago.in case you were unaware.-Snowhor questions why you think you wrote this.
-I research it and find you wrote the aforementioned shit post and inform the community.
-You got angry because I called your post “not as well done” and like any good idiot would do, said “what are you an english teacher” and then whined about having been here longer and deserving respect.
-I explained what made your post crap and let you know posting crap will not get you any respect regardless of your membership length
-You decided keep it going by calling me an “ass hat”
-I told you to go screw yourself.
-You threaten to “meet up and settle” this.
Let it go dude. Your post was crap. Your time as a member of the blog does not entitle you to some superiority. deal with it.
Balls and Strikes - June 26, 2010
hell no.
I’m gonna be all over your ass from now on for messing with me like you have a badge for it or something. I will own you. You’re telling me to go screw myself??? LOL….man…..you will get owned.
Halofanatic - June 26, 2010
Owned, huh? We'll see.
Balls and Strikes - June 26, 2010 via mobile
I'll tell you what.....if you really do have the balls, balls and strikes
tell me where to meet you (TODAY)….then we’ll see if you really do deserve that nickname.

So in other words
Seattle REALLY sucks.
ReggieBullits - June 25, 2010

howiestheman - June 25, 2010
At least the rangers are doing what they're supposed to do.
This year feels similar to last, … seems like we couldn’t buy a win off the rangers until the end of the season. Lots of shittalk from lonestarball until their typical collapse. Should be exactly the same this year, but, I have to admit, seeing the hopes and dreams of a Ranger fan getting crushed year in and year out is pretty damn entertaining.
clover_black - June 25, 2010
Some of their fans
trolled over here about this time last year. Sort of like migratory birds.
opiejeanne - June 25, 2010
Just like birds- They shit all over their home and then decide to go share their mess with others
Balls and Strikes - June 25, 2010
"We don't take no mess."
Downing Rules - June 25, 2010
i like pennant races
so i’m liking this season (after kendry broke his leg and we started WINNING SOME GAMES, anyway). it’s on us to start beating these good teams and stop rolling the bad clubs like texas has done. other than toronto, we haven’t really done that well against solid clubs.
it turns out those are the teams that make the postseason. let’s clean up against colorado pitchers that aren’t named ubaldo and prove once again who the class of the al west is.
Kernel - June 25, 2010
Texas is playing the teams on their schedule.
And yeah, most of them suck, but who cares? It’s not like they made it.
Nobody in here is saying we are lucky we aren’t in the AL East.
bc56274 - June 25, 2010
Clearly, the most important games are gonna be head to head.
I still think the Rangers have the tougher schedule in August/September.
They have to play the top teams in the Central and East more often than we do.
river-z - June 25, 2010
Who gives a CRAP about all the stats
the only question is: Can the Angels beat the Rangers
Dono Romantico - June 25, 2010
umm
crazy stats like w-l records
kinda matter…
sctrojan13 - June 25, 2010
Oh, and I beleive the Angels can
but I don’t think that they will.
Dono Romantico - June 25, 2010
9-11 against the rangers last year.
What matters is how we play the season, not 1 particular team.
clover_black - June 25, 2010
Uhhhhhh Follow the bouncing Ball boys
We must beat the team ahead of us in our division. And that team is……………………
The Rangers.
Dono Romantico - June 25, 2010
For sure!
How we match up against other teams in the terms of wins and losses in not important at all. We just have to beat the rangers 4 times and we’re golden.
RexTookMyStash - June 25, 2010
That's definitely how the season works
The Redskins would be a shoe in for the NFC East division leader every year.
Slyintine - June 25, 2010
Let's all nod in agreement
RexTookMyStash - June 25, 2010
dono...
put down the cerveza.
clover_black - June 25, 2010
I think
Sept. might be the chance for the Halos to finally gain ground in the AL West. In Sept. the Halos. Based on current W-L, the Halos will face only 2 over .500 teams, the Rays and the Rangers. The Rangers have Detroit (2 games), Minnesota, the Yanks, and the Angels, all 4 teams regular playoff contenders.
phoenix15 - June 25, 2010
the question will be will all you fans point out at that time
you’re playing sub par teams ? Or just spin it and give excuses? Teams are on highs and lows at different parts of the season. Example….CWS are a above 500 team but they werent when we both played them.
dubious - June 25, 2010
That's a good point.
You’re right, teams are not “static” and play differently day-by-day.
I hadn’t really thought of that before.
WiHaloFan - June 25, 2010
Subtle.
Maybe too subtle?
opiejeanne - July 1, 2010
Just gotta keep winning series........
the rest will take care of itself.
norcaliangelsfan - June 25, 2010
Amen.
opiejeanne - June 25, 2010
Pythagorean W-L Standings
Angels: 37-38
Rangers: 43-29
Which team seems a bit lucky?
Longhorn - June 25, 2010
Angels ALWAYS outperform pathagorean
That is useless to predict what is gonna happen this year.
ryanfea - June 25, 2010
You would think that argument would go away at some point.
halofan4life - June 25, 2010
This fanpost isn't about luck or other mystical explanations
This fanpost is about facts: The Rangers have had an extraordinarily easy schedule so far, and it figures to get much tougher.
johnnyangel101 - June 26, 2010
I'm confused
When did the Angels join the Pythagorean League?
WiHaloFan - June 26, 2010
I'd say just to forget these comparisons
The MOST important thing is to continue to win series including against the Rangers. We shouldn’t worry about the standings until September. The Rangers are just doing their job by beating up on weak teams.
Also, by being pushed by the Rangers further into the season it might toughen us up for when the real crunch time comes which is the playoffs. Look what happened last year, both teams were fighting for the division until around September when we clinched the division. That was the year we exorcised our Red Sox demons. Maybe if we fight it out till the end of the season, we might make it to the World Series this year.
RedWalnut - June 25, 2010
yea cause in the 2010 postseason
Wood’s gonna carry this team to a WS title.
phoenix15 - June 25, 2010
Wood???
put down the crack pipe.
Halofanatic - June 25, 2010
What?
You don’t think his .414 OPS can get it done?
ryanfea - June 25, 2010
When we play him in the starting lineup
the other team’s players will get stomach pains from laughing.
TheKingfish - June 25, 2010
There is no doubt in my world that Josh Hamilton is
double juiced this time . Breakdown after the all-star break .
Ed@northridge - June 26, 2010
This division will be decided in the games between us and the Rangers. There are too many of those games outstanding to worry about strength of schedule. Whoever wins the most angels/rangers series will win the division.
firebird81 - June 26, 2010
I posted this a few days ago but I thought I'd show it again
Proposed Texas Rangers schedule:
Astros
Brownie Troop 14
Shadyrest Retirement Home
Waco Middle School Girls Softball Team
Pirates
St. Francis Hospital Onocolgy Patient’s Team
Winnie-the-Pooh Daycare
Astros
kbrown2225 - June 26, 2010
And they go .500?
Those Brownies are bad-asses.
WiHaloFan - June 27, 2010
