Final Score in Chicago: Cubs 12, Angels 1 ...

Star-divide

Pitcher Joe Saunders had a bad luck first inning, but it was but the scratch that led to the bloodgusher as nothing went right for him or the Angels. When Angels fielding wasn't allowing runners to get on base or advance without any threat, the Angels' offense decided to rhyme with "Saunders" and squandered 5 leadoff men getting on base in consecutive innings.

The disaster was completed even to the point of bringing in Brian Fuentes to get some work in in the 9th inning of a 9-1 game only made it an ERA blowout for the "on-the-bubble" Angels closer as he gave up 3 earned runs in 2/3 of an inning pitched.

Meanwhile Brandon Wood regressed in the field to the point where one could safely say the Angels sincerely missed Erick Aybar for the first time since his knee injury on Monday.

Keep winning series' fellas........

Rangers cant play Astros and Pirates forever……….

Hate the schedule

Rangers get fat playing the Lastros every single year while we have to deal with an actual good team called the Dodgers.

well as my high school basketball coach once told me......

you dont get better throughout the year beating up on the weaker guys…..you get better playing up against competition as good or better than you…which is why we always played up in the preseason schedule so that when it came time for league games to start…….we could match up with anyone (and plus it helps in the playoffs too)

Sure you might take your lumps along the way……but you also (if you have “it” in you) rise to the occassion and overcome all the adversity.

More often than not……we were always right there in the end, year after year.

Same holds true for the Halos.

Im just waiting for Sept. when the Rangers face actual playoff teams

BOTG goes to......

Joe “Lamar Odom” Saunders……this guy goes from pitching brilliant baseball toooo this!

Not a good day for Jeff Mathis' CERA.

Now that he’s batting .310, I wonder when Soth will give up on him.

I just noticed something good
In Sept. (you know, when standings actually start to matter) the Angels will face only 1 playoff regular team (Tampa) rest are Oakland, the Os, the Ms, Texas and 1 series with the CWS

Brandon Wood was a major fail today

Not only one error, but he misplayed a fielders choice by throwing to third instead of first. Get the sure out! This is fundamental baseball right here! Joe Saunders must not be pleased…

I've defended B Wood several times this season,

But he was atrocious today. Terrible D, bad at the plate, with some monumental brain farts. However, what’s up with Hokie Joe? This dude pitches 1 good game, punctuated by some of the worst pitching, since well, his last horrific meltdown. At least we took the series.

Brandez Juood very much presented a DFA potential today.
Must clear waivers first

since he is out of options…. DFA him and he may get snapped up by another team. Worse, he may get snapped up by a division rival and bounce back hard.

Losing Wood forever to another team seems to be his best hope.

And ours.

Wood should get a full season

and then make the call on his future as a Halo in the offseason. If we dump him now, it serves zero purpose.

Now – if there’s ever a candidate for DFA……let me introduce you to #40, Brian Fuentes.

Fuentes can be awful.

But he’s helped the Angels win some games too.

You can’t even say that for Wood. He’s either a non-factor or he’s hurting the team.

angels wont catch The Texas Rangers

I got a great ideal, lets trade Matsui to the Rangers for Vlad , Wood for Young, Rivera for Hamilton

You are crazy, Charlie.

Want to put your money where your mouth is? I usually bet AGAINST my teams, but this one is a no-brainer.

Rangers playing Astros, Pirates, Astros...

I think after that they are slated for a 4 game set against the Waco Middle School’s Girl’s Softball squad (but hey they are tougher than the Astros)

Worst Fathers Day EVER

Atleast related to the angels. Hope for some fathers day sex oh ya

This guy is allowed to have kids...
But I totally agree with him

sex is the best thing we dads can wish for on Father’s Day ;)

and i will have 3 soon
My god the game was painful to watch today...

On the bright side we did take the series. By the way when are the Rangers going to play the same number of games us the Angels. We have played 3 more games than they have and this has been the case for a number of weeks now.

brutal game

but at least wood is collecting a few hits.

still, that infield single early on was a play aybar would’ve made. i hope brandon can just relax a bit and play solid baseball. no one expect’s the world of you, guy. we just want you to be average this year.

also...

there were two hits between wood and frandsen to the EXACT same part of the field. frandsen was playing too close to the line, in my opinion.
