The Angels roster juggling began with yesterday's call-up of utility bat Michael Ryan. He replaced pitcher Fernando Rodriguez on the 40 man roster and Matt Palmer on the 25 man roster. Ryan grounded out in a late-game AB.
But the Angels were not done then, oh no... they placed Maicer Izturis on the disabled list today with a sore shoulder and called up Kevin Frandsen, who will start tonight at 3B in his 10th game with the Angel organization.
Frandsen was released by the Giants after Spring Training, picked up by the Red Sox and waived just over two weeks ago by Boston as a result of a roster crunch, not an issue of performance.
The 40 man roster currently displays the names of 42 Angels, counting the 60-Day DL stint of prospect Chris Pettit. Someone has got to go!
The Angels still have 2 Rodriguezes to spare, but depending on bullpen usage behind Joe Saunders tonight, help from the Salt Lake bullpen may be a priority before Sunday afternoon's start, and why not, the shuttle is running smoothly right now!

On way to game...
Beautiful day in Seattle. Fister has been lights out for Sea thus far and the Colonel has blown so I am hoping for some reverse joojoo tonight with my personal 6 game winning streak on the line in games I’ve attended including playoffs. :) Nickelback rocked the Tdome last night. Met a couple of Halo fans on way out who were in town for a real rock show…maybe we’ll see them @ the show! ;)

We need to somehow trade for K-Rod quickly
and bring up all three of the Rodriguez’s from AAA;
that we we could do this:
Inning 6: Rodriguez 1
Inning 7: Rodriguez 2
Inning 8: Rodriguez 3
Inning 9: Rodriguez 4
It would be almost like a Brave New World cloning-type deal

K-Rod blew the save for the Mets last eve.
44FAN - May 8, 2010
Yea, gave up a mammoth HR to let the Giants tie it up in the 9th
Mets won anyway
Raaddad - May 8, 2010
this is odd

Saunders should give us some innings tonight
Even he can’t give up more than 3 runs to this Seattle team, can he? I’m not worried about Saunders this time. I’d worry more about the Angel offense getting fisted.

Oh god that last sentence sounds so wrong

Fister seems all Seattle has going for it right now.
I just hope it’s her and not us.

What is the point in calling both Ryan and Franderson?
We now have three average to below average utility guys (Ryan, Franderson, and Q). We need relief help
ryanfea - May 8, 2010
*Frandsen

Is Franderson available?

How long will Izzy be out?
2 weeks or 2 months?
Fan Since 1981 - May 8, 2010
Not sure, not seeing anything that says how long he'll be out

The projection systems
Before the year had Brandon Wood putting up numbers that look like Joe Crede. The optimists thought that was crazy, he’d be much better than that. Now I think we’d all be ecstatic if Brandon reached Crede’s level. So the next question I have is:
What’s the original Joe Crede up to these days?
RallyMonkey5 - May 8, 2010
Crede today
Joe Crede is wishing he could put up Kevin Fransen numbers right now
Rev Halofan - May 8, 2010
Brandon Wood final 2010 stats , 4 months in the future ....
.245
14 HR

Izzy Update
Izturis aggravated an 11-year-old shoulder injury while diving for a ball Monday in Boston. He said an MRI exam indicated only inflammation and that he will not have to repeat the 1999 surgery to repair a partially torn labrum.
