Our HH VIP Fantasy Baseball League Standings
Missus Halofan's THE BATGIRLS are dominating the boys. She is in First Place overall and this is her first ever fantasy team venture. Cupie and Sam Miller of the OCR are close behind. I'm in 4th pace at 2.5 games back and Scottnak is in 5th place, 6 back. 14 teams in the league and only one is run by a chick. A chick who is kicking some serious behind.

How to improperly run a team with a huge payroll
Marcus at the In Play No Outs blog takes the Angels budget to the woodshed. A cathartic read.
The Most Under Appreciated Batted Ball Type
Best Stat-core article in a long time - Rich Lederer at Baseball Analysts has cracked the secret to Jered Weaver's success. WTY leads baseball with 15.5% of his batted balls in play as popups/infield flies. An eye-opener!
Jeff Mathis rehabbing
Rotoworld has the dish on Jeff Mathis and his wrist. No timetable yet for his return.
RELIEF Stats
Angels bullpen ERA is the worst in the league.
Kate Jackson 'bankrupt'
You like to read about former Angels, right, well here is one of Charlie's Angels. The 61-year-old actress has launched legal action against her financial adviser and says he cheated her out of millions.
LA Angels Insider: Scott Kazmir Audio
Jason Brennan talks to Kaz about the recent upswing in his mound results.
On this date in Baseball History:
1922: Babe Ruth is suspended one day and fined $200 for throwing dirt on an ump after being called out on a play at second base, then going into the stands after a heckler. He is also stripped of his title as team captain.
1989: After shopping him for several months, the Mariners finally trade star pitcher Mark Langston to Montreal for pitchers Randy Johnson, Brian Holman, and Gene Harris.
Born Today: May 25, 1975: The Sausage-Basher, Randall Simon

Go Batgirls!
sothball - May 25, 2010
I hate to sound like everyone else, but...
I think a trade for a SP is necessary: Dan Haren or Roy Oswalt or Cliff Lee. I know the we have a shaky BP, and some can argue we need help there more than SP, but I still insist on attaining strong co-ace.
SenorChuckles - May 25, 2010
Why? So we can have more quality start losses?
Commander_Nate - May 25, 2010
not diggin’ our rotation, when they get to the playoffs.
SenorChuckles - May 25, 2010

HUD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wally's World - May 25, 2010
I know... that's why we keep losing!
It’s the Hudler Hex! Get him back in the television booth and we’ll start winning.
thetooth - May 25, 2010
Put Rex back in the booth, and move Brandon Wood to the DL……NOW LETS GO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RexTookMyStash - May 25, 2010
Ye of little faith.
This is typical SoCal sports fans. The Angels will be playing playoff baseball in 2010, it’ll be grand.
SenorChuckles - May 25, 2010
Maicer starting tonight at 3B, according to MLBN, batting 8th
Fred Fredrix - May 25, 2010
Good, because the Halos need a 3rd baseman.
Several defensive blunders by Wood and Franzen although Franzen has had some solid at bats.
Still think Figgy would have stopped most of those hard smashes though.
3rd Echelon - May 25, 2010
I sure wouldn't want Figgy around with that horrible contract he signed
Figgy has been a nightmare for Seattle. Other than walking, he is striking out a bunch, not getting hits, and even has a negative value on defense. I suppose one could argue that his defense wouldn’t be so awful if he were back at 3B instead of playing 2B, but you are still stuck with that awful contract for the next 4 years.
stolenbases - May 25, 2010
I'd give Figgy league minimum for 2010
Downing Rules - May 25, 2010
League minimum on a 1 year contract plus a club option that doesn't required a buyout
I can only dream
stolenbases - May 26, 2010
The Expos gave up Johnson and Holman for Mark Langston?
Incredible. I once saw Holman pitch 8 2/3 innings of a perfect game against the A’s in 1990; then Ken Phelps broke up the whole &@#$ thing by hitting a home run. KEN PHELPS!
