about 2 years ago: ST. LOUIS - MAY 23: Umpire Paul Emmel #50 cools down inbetween innings as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim play against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium on May 23, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri. The Cardinals beat the Angels 6-5 in 10 innings. (Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images)
Starting off with 100 points on opening day, some of our readers have been making daily wagers and accrued MILLIONS of "Panther Points" *. Check out the Daily Question for tonight's game:
"Number of offensive hits Angels batters record in innings 1 - 6" (pays 4 to 1 odds)
I promise no matter how bad a pick you make, i will not behave like out-of-touch old Earl "Brain Clot" Bloom at the Orange County Register Angels Blog and mock your contributions to the community (by the way, according to Quantcast, Bloom and company's Angels coverage has less than 1/5 of the traffic that Halos Heaven gets, and when those dipshit anti-democracy dinosaurs cite their "print" numbers, understand that print subscribers want store coupons delivered to their doorstep by a 100-1 ratio over wanting to pay for information, so sure, tack on extra thousand readers... oooh wow, we still beat them here by more than 4 to 1).
At least with the OCR's budgets and salaries you'd think they'd know how to run an internet forum and offer their readers a fun non-monetary gambling game based on their favorite team - but Old Brainclot Bloom just wants to talk down to people from the mountain (pardon the freshman psychoanalysis of obese people but it is irresistibly obvious what this Twinkie-Chomper is made of) and swagger how much smarter he is to all of us peasant posters.
*Panther Points are redeemable for bragging rights only. Weekly standings are in our right sidebar.

What is shortening Earl's lifespan?
The heart condition or your joke about the heart condition?
The_Legend_Of_Wilfong - May 24, 2010
His using it as an excuse to stay stuck in the 1980s.
When I am forced to get another heart surgery, I might blog about it like Earl did, but you won’t find me using it as an excuse to being behind on new technologies and lamenting having to rub up against the masses in my writing like Earl milked it for a year.

Ah, just when I think I’m itching to get back involved with HH, I am treated to an unnecessary, egotistical diatribe from good ol’ Rev. Heck, I even agree with your position, Rev! But the quasi-intellectual vitriol is tired and divisive.
Thank goodness for WHF and Matt Welch and rghan and other frequent posters, although I guess from the numbers you cited, you don’t need me visiting the site to maintain your all-encompassing superiority over those evil print journalists.

Gorby = Ted Williams
40 percent of his posts are about me. Most consistent poster here!

sometimes they sound as arrogant as the Rev
other times they sound As Smart as the Rev
on too many occasions local writers sound much more lost than the Rev.
But it doesn’t matter, cuz nobody is as informative/oppinionated/and as relevant as the Rev.

I have to say the new guy at the LA Times, Ben Bolch, is pretty good.
His article, “Angels pitchers talk a good hitting game,” is a must read:

Unlike Gorby5, I come to HH for the shit talking, ankle-chewing, arm twisting, and damned lies spewed out daily by Rev and the HH faithful. What fun would it be otherwise? This is heaven, not Lookout Landing purgatory after all.

Where is the survey option for
Rev Halofan is wrong?
MartinGreen - May 24, 2010
Wrong, like the Dodgers' slogan, "This is our town?"
44FAN - May 24, 2010
bring it on
I dish it out because i can take it
Rev Halofan - May 24, 2010
I'm not trying to hump the rev, but ...
I don’t see what he said that was wrong. Nor can “Rev Halofan is wrong” be an answer to the question: “On Internet Forums, Print-era Sportswriters are more likely to come across as:”.
