when you have good ingredients its kinda hard to screw things up too much
I’d argue the BACKBONE of the Angels successful teams since like 2002 has been their shutdown bullpen. Give me Shields, Percival, K-Rod all in their prime…… combine that with well above average starting pitching so they aren’t getting worn out and it was easy to manage that bullpen.
Now that the starting pitching has taken a step back and the bullpen as well, I think this year will be a much stronger test of Soth’s managerial ability
