about 2 years ago: ANAHEIM, CA - APRIL 23: Ervin Santana #54 of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim throws a pitch against the New York Yankees on April 23, 2010 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)
The game started off with the Angels grabbing a quick run in the 1st. But then in the 3rd, after Teixiera gets a ball to the arm... a Robinson Cano single allows him the opportunity to score. And despite the plate being half open, Teixiera decides to dig into Bobby Wilson, and knock him out completely (Oh, and don't forget to touch home base again afterwards). Bobby Wilson sustained a concussion and an injury to his left ankle as a result of the play. Got to hope it's not as bad as it looked... As for Teixiera... well, the comments are open for you to speak your mind about that...
Then again, perhaps this lit a fire under the Angels as they came right back to match the Yankees 3 runs, with 3 of our own! Unfortunately, that 1 run lead quickly disappeared after a Swisher HR. After that... we got an HBP rally, A pair of wtf-how-was-that-not-a-strikeout-pitch ump calls, and a pair of satisfying Ks to Teixiera. Not much. But lets give some props to Jepsen and Rodney for throw 2 innings of shutout ball!
Action picked up again after we get to the 8th! Hideki Matsui comes in, gets a well hit single. What goes with a hit single? Some more KOWBELL! Kendry Morales pulls through in the clutch and hits a 2 run Home Run to pull the Angels into the lead.
9th inning calls for Fuentes to get his revenge. How about we do this right this time?
Not only did Fuentes say yes, he did it without the drama! Fuentes shuts the Yankees down in the 9th, to chalk up another win. Light it up!

Mark Teixiera
About as classy as ever. <_<
Wilson wasn’t blocking the plate and he had the throw beat anyway.

I’m calling a brawl before the end of the series. Because I gurantee once torii sees a replay, he won’t be thrilled
Figgi4life - April 23, 2010 via mobile
The Halos are more Classier than that but...
I wouldn’t doubt this series ends in a brawl. Pitchers were getting hit left and right. I’m surprised Rivera didn’t get ANOTHER HBP. And yea Teixiera was a little bitch when he was clearly safe at home….and I didn’t see him touch afterwards. Stupid Skankees!
Overall, I didn’t crap my pants with Fuentes on the mound! Lol Good job Halos! Good job Bam-Bam!!!

I was listening to the Yankees radio broadcast on my way to Princeton tonight
Sterling and Waldman were pretty much blaming Wilson for the accident. They said he was in Teixeira’s way and he mishandled the ball. I was shocked when I got to the hotel and saw the replay. The plate was wide open! The Yankees are an organization of assclowns top to bottom, players, coaches, broadcasters, everyone.
Too bad MLB doesn’t have the balls to hit Teixeira with the suspension he deserves. He has his $180 million contract, Wilson is a scrub. He may have seriously jeopardized someone else’s career, and the only punishment he’ll get is the high-fives from his teammates in the dugout for a “heads-up play.” Whatever. I’m mad, I’m going to bed.

Thankfully the Yankees tv guys felt Tex didnt have to take him out like that, from what I heard on the replay on MLB.com

Sterling and Waldman had hardly finished knocking Angels fans for cheering when Teixeira got plunked by the time they started making excuses for the play at the plate.

Aybar need to bunt one up the first base line and
fake go around his tag only to side step and drop his shoulder right into Tex and plow him over, then put some spike marks in his face as he’s on the ground. That might make up for it.
MH252525 - April 23, 2010
One of the bench players
Needs to pretend to lose balance running to first and get an elbow to Tex’s neck, full speed, knocking him on his ass.
Pretending will give him a denyability alibi.
Bench player in case there is a suspension.

Teixeira
The play wasn’t illegal, I’ll give him that. Just because it wasn’t illegal though doesn’t mean it isn’t total horseshit. By the way, watch the video and the way he curls up and slides on the side. What the hell kind of half-assed, pussy slide was that? Compare that video to Erstad laying out Johnny Estrada. Now that was a take out slide.
Teixiera should be gassed.
Teixeira Who? - April 23, 2010
The irony is he was on base because he was gassed.
Maybe he thought he was the one getting the payback with the collision.
