The greatest graffiti I’ve ever seen (as told to Chompo):
During the beginning of the coffeeshop craze in the early ‘90s, I patronized one in Costa Mesa ("Rock ’n’ Java", on Newport Boulevard, if I remember correctly), knowing I had just entered the lair of the perceived “cooler-and-smarter-than-thous”. I went into the unisex bathroom, and found one piece of graffiti:
“For a great commentary on women’s issues in the nineties, read “Women in the Nineties, by Blah blah blah” (I don’t remember the author.)
To which there was a single scrawled reply:
“Fuck that, I got drunk at the tractor pull!”
