I thought he took it far better than I would have…I felt the caller had some valid perspectives as well. I would hope that he would feel he could call again another time.

Buehrle probably sealed his on opening day with that (admittedly awesome) between the legs play. Cano had a career year with the bat so obviously he deserves one.
It’s so obvious that the managers and coaches can’t be bothered to think about their nominations and just vote for the first player that comes to mind. Players who have won multiple times just makes the process even easier for these guys as they can put even less thought into it. The problem is you know the players wouldn’t do any better at picking the winners and we’re already disgusted enough with how the writers vote.
It is amusing kicking off every off-season with the “What were they thinking???” hysteria that comes with award-season.

despite laughing at the mispronouncing of Bourjos and Callaspo, I actually thought that dude had some good points.
not that I think it’s realistic, but pursing Cliff Lee would give us the best staff and allow us to start dealing for some upgrades in the lineup.
I wouldn’t mind adding Elsbury, he brings everything Crawford would minus some power, I understand that requires us to deal Napoli, but he proved to be a very one dimensional player last yr, he no longer walks and strikes out way too much, it’s not worth it to let him sit on the pine because we know coach doesn’t want to play him, we might as well get something for him.
