Check out my article on SBNLA about the team's FORTY MAN ROSTER SITUATION.
Who is eligible for the Rule-5 Draft?
Any minor league player not on the 40-Man Roster who was age 19 or older and taken in the 2007 draft or then-18 year-olds from the 2006 draft.
The Angels have an open spot, is there anyone from the 2006 DRAFT or the 2007 DRAFT who you think we need to protect?

Matthew McCracken
Because if Hud ever comes back, he would have 42 nicknames made up by end of week one.

I have no idea whose on our 40 man....
But off the top of my head, I’d say it wold be a good idea to protect T-Recks, and maybe Eddie Mckiernen or Robert Fish.

Trevor Reckling
is the only one on those lists that has a shot of being claimed.

Reckling
Reckling was drafted out of HS in 2007 when he was 18. I think he has another year left before he’s eligible for the draft.

Those are some pretty bad drafts.

2009
Ramirez was our 8th round pick in 2009. So he’s not eligible for another 2 years.

2 guys
Mason Tobin and Young Il-Jung are 2 guys that are eligible but also coming off some serious arms problems. I really doubt a team would waste a 40 man spot either of these guys.
Looking back at those 2 drafts shows how awesome Eddie Bane was at his job…or not.

Does it mean anything
that both Jeremy Moore and Loek Van Mil are on the 40-man roster?
