When I first saw Agent 99's fan shot "Your Lunch Time Laugh"
I thought she was referring to “Lunch Time Halo Talk” and all the technical difficulties you guys have experienced so far. Hope all goes well tomorrow. I’ll be listening.
angelslogic - November 1, 2010
Does Calcaterra know anything about the Angels?
Halowood - November 1, 2010
tune in and find out!!!!
Rev Halofan - November 1, 2010
Oh boy I'm sold! I'll be there!
Halowood - November 1, 2010
those cokeheads turned their back on Vlad
KB_24 - November 1, 2010
You noticed that too.
I was checking out LSB, and their Molina hate from earlier in the season has been replaced with their Vladdy hate. No way Vlad re-signs with those irrational coke fiends in Arlington. Screw ‘em, Vlad is a Halo, should’ve stayed here, if he didn’t have delusions of grandeur. And playing RF. And wanting a multi-year deal.
halofolife - November 1, 2010
Hmm Vladdy back in an Angel uniform.....
Not gonna happen, Abreu needs to DH, but I gotta admit, having him back would elate the fan in me. All the way up until he proved his numbers were merely inflated by the Texas band box.
Halowood - November 2, 2010
I was actually in favor of letting Vlad go,
Since he was bound and determined to get the multi-year contract, and if memory serves, was none to happy at the prospect of being a full time DH. So i’m with you, the fan in me would like to see Vladdy back, however that joy would be short lived once Vlad started GIDP, swinging at balls 6 feet outta the zone and stranding runners.
halofolife - November 2, 2010
I'm hungover from the Giants festivities.
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
Wisconsin going Republican this year right Jim?
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Please God no politics!
And no dad of vlad since we’re on the subject.
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
OK - just following Rev's comment
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
I'm worried. Nothing good has ever come out of the inland empire.
Plus it smells.
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
Hey, Travis Barker is from there!
And so am I.
It does smell, though. Hot as F too.
Commander_Nate - November 2, 2010
Easy there Rex. I'm from the IE.
And what do you mean nothing good has ever come from the Inland Empire? The first Del Taco. In the IE. Ditto the first McDonalds. Hell, even our Meth is well known. And did I mention the heat? Hotter than hell most of the year between Ontario, all the way to Coachella. Maybe we do suck.
halofolife - November 2, 2010
The IE=SRH HQ.
yeah the IE sucks, but it’s better than Texas.
SenorChuckles - November 2, 2010
What's that call in number again?
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
I have a Harvard sweater. I wear it when I'm contemplating serious matters.
Does that count?
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
1-800-DAD-VLAD
sothball - November 2, 2010
1-800-STOP-DOV
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
Lame!!!
my work’s firewall blocks halo talk!
jhens76 - November 2, 2010
I'll liveblog it then.
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
I have a joke: What size World Series ring are they going to make for Benji Molina?
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
A larger than normal one
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Do they make a size 15?
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Not a bigger impact than Callaspo, ANY impact. Callaspo is a zero on offense.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Why could'nt Wood have been like Buster Posey?
44FAN - November 2, 2010
...and Crawford has played half his games on Astr-turf.
sothball - November 2, 2010
No Crawford
cupie - November 2, 2010
When dealing for players, Moreno and Reagins need to focus on IMPACT not cost.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
But good closers are always expensive or they are just bad.
44FAN - November 2, 2010
Always liked Hudson...
…what’s his age though?
sothball - November 2, 2010
He'll be 33 at the beginning of the 2011 season
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
33
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Just looked...he will be 33 in December. A little old.
sothball - November 2, 2010
Only 6 homeruns
44FAN - November 2, 2010
Yes, but Howie only had 10. So, it's not that much of a drop-off.
sothball - November 2, 2010
Wood's BA actually ended up being .146
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
pathetic
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Unless he hits over .500 in ST with power ...
…does anyone think B. Wood even gets a sniff of consideration?
sothball - November 2, 2010
Nope
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Agree. He's as good as gone.
sothball - November 2, 2010
More no? Morneau
44FAN - November 2, 2010
Rauch would allow the Angels to start a basketball team along with Van Mil
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Troy Glass!!!!
KB_24 - November 2, 2010
Word is that the Brewers hired Roenicke to be their manager
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/11/brewers-hire-ron-roenicke-as-manager.html
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
tommy lasorda bench coach for the Halos
cupie - November 2, 2010
Jose Guillen!
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
I want Ozzie Guillen to be our hitting coach
Heet da ***en beisbol!
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
No one would understand him though
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
K Rod should be our hitting coach
KB_24 - November 2, 2010
boosh!
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
Two strong-willed Italians will not work well together (except for the team menu)
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
ugh. that's a nightmare of mine
lasorda in angels red? that’s like cobra commander marrying lady jane.
Rally Manatee - November 2, 2010
What are Tim Salmon or Garrett Anderson planning on doing next year?
Commander_Nate - November 2, 2010
I think Tim Salmon is coaching his son's Little League team, or at least he was this year
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
I think he'd consider a MLB coaching job though
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
I'm guessing he would at least consider it, but he seemed pretty happy just being with his family and coaching his son.
Who knows what would happen if the Angels did offer him an MLB coaching job though
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Plus it's been like 4 years
Got to be sick of all those kids by now, right parents?
Commander_Nate - November 2, 2010
Yeah kids suck!
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
he's probably
more sick of the parents than the kids.
“why doesn’t Salmon play my kid more. always said that guy’s overrated….”
2pintsofbooze - November 2, 2010
Their gain is our loss.
I can’t help but feel that the loss of Maddon, Black, and now Roenicke has adversely affected the Angels.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
I agree
no one is interviewing Mickey Hatcher.
cupie - November 2, 2010
Darn it.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
It's not like the Angels could have stopped Maddon, Black and maybe Roenicke now from taking a mangerial opening
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Agree - I am merely making that point that these coaches deserve more credit than they have been given
for the success of the Halos. Put another way, Sosh needed them.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Can you guys use a Howard Stern format?
I’m falling asleep over here.
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
so you're asking for
more porn stars?
2pintsofbooze - November 2, 2010
sure
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
lingerie baseball league, anyone?
2pintsofbooze - November 2, 2010
BOOBS!
Commander_Nate - November 2, 2010
Where!
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
It's looking more like Roenicke has been hired by the Brewers
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/106538268.html
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
If true, who is the likely bench coach replacement?
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Mickey Hatcher
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
do that and then get Joe Torre as hitting coach
angelsfan7 - November 2, 2010
That might be a plus - we'll get a new batting coach.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Maybe, but I could see him staying as hitting coach and the Angels finding someone else to be a bench coach.
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Dino Ebel?
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Griffin
KB_24 - November 2, 2010
Maybe
If anyone on our coaching staff deserves a promotion, its him.
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
We should promote whoever the guy is at AAA...
…that knew how to make Wood, Mathis and Co. hit.
Commander_Nate - November 2, 2010
Excuse me while I vomit
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
reply fail
meant for MMP’s choice of Mathis
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
Well at least if Mathis was the bench coach he wouldn't get to play anymore
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Scioscia would make him a player/coach
ryanfea - November 2, 2010
As per the Peter Principle.
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
Ebel?
Q????
2pintsofbooze - November 2, 2010
Jeff Mathis!
~MMP~ - November 2, 2010
Hey, anything to get him out of the line up!
angelslogic - November 2, 2010
not a bad idea
keep him in the dugout and never let him out
2pintsofbooze - November 2, 2010
Wasn't Davey Lopes a team mate of Scioscia's on the Dodgers?
44FAN - November 2, 2010
yep, 1980-81
Quad Fin Rider - November 2, 2010
Damn it, I wanted to call in!
RexTookMyStash - November 2, 2010
Yeahhhh great show!!!
angelsfan7 - November 2, 2010
Nice show guys...
no technical difficulties. I was prepared to submit my name for assistance in running these if you had continued problems…
K3YEROUT - November 2, 2010
the roblem has been Skype Bandwidth
and we have developed a workaround that hopefully maintains its viability.
Rev Halofan - November 2, 2010
He called Roenicke a token – chuckle
Am I the only person who doesn’t like cheesecake?
Searching on “halo talk,” “halotalk,” and “baseball” in iTunes doesn’t return this podcast (unless I’m missing it somehow). I also did a search with “angels” along with some other things, but that got a lot of religious stuff. Maybe there is something with tags that would help or maybe its a blogtalkradio thing.
Salty - November 4, 2010
hmm
thanks for the technical feedback, I will talk to BTR about this. And I will have his slice of cheesecake, hold the salt.
