The Wildcard team gives the ball to CC Sabathia, the Minnesota Twins counter with Francisco Liriano. First pitch is on TBS at 5:37 PM Pacific Time. If anyone can pretend that Jeter's jock itch is a bigger story than Halladay's No-No, tonight will be the hyperbole night to do it.

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Soooo.... Francisco and C.C.... fellas...
No pressure, but, come on. Perfect game. Do it for baseball.
TheQuestforMerlin - October 6, 2010
Go Twins!!!!
Beat the skanks!!!
halofolife - October 6, 2010
I'm only rooting for the Twins
because it would be so nice to see ESPN’s dream of seeing them in series go down the drain.
That and I hate the Yankees.
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Isn't it great to see how skankee hatred,
Motivates us all?
halofolife - October 6, 2010
it is amazing
after 20 years on the right coast, the hatred only intensified, Lord, I was glad to move away
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Good morning everybody from Maenam Beach, Koh Samui, Thailand
It;s a great day to see the Yankees crash and burn. Go Twinkies
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
You are a lucky bastard.
Although, I prefer Koh Tao myself. Fresh fish, snorkeling, and a certain pretty waitress I met at a restaurant and then at Lotus bar.
TheQuestforMerlin - October 6, 2010
went there day before yesterday
the pretty waitress got the stink eye from the wife, though…
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Women
They getcha, every time
TheQuestforMerlin - October 6, 2010
and I am a bastard
how’d you know?
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Deductive reasoning
Everyones a bastard in some form on Thailand
TheQuestforMerlin - October 6, 2010
oh...forgot
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
I'll drink to that!
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
like you need an excuse
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
A walk shy of a perfect game.... damn... the Phillies are scary.
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20101006&content_id=15455266&vkey=recap&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
AlanFalcon - October 6, 2010
he gave up a walk?
loser!
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
against the best offense of the NL?
pretty legit. he made them look like a jv high school team
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Walks
are overrated in a Perfect Game scenario…I think…unless they some how score…
maze88 - October 6, 2010
i'd say a dropped 3rd strike, hbp or an error is the cheapest way to lose a perfect game
walks are a sign of imperfection
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
What about a blown call by an umpire on the (would-be) last play of the game?
AlanFalcon - October 6, 2010
Were looking at you Mr. Joyce.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
Boy am i glad we didn't trade for Doc
nothing in our yeam or farm system would be worth him…that’s for sure
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
one thing is for sure
you don’t need to worry about bullpen issues when doc takes the mound.
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Too bad the Jays were smart enough to pass on Naps and Aybar.
He would’ve been an awesome edition to the Halos.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
should have givem them...
whatever the hell they wanted
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
As long as we kept Mathis.
He’s the glue that holds our team together.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
he's the horse that gets made into glue
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Listening to Halladay address the media is really interesting, he gives a ridiculous amount of credit to Ruiz
He keeps talking about how good “we were at changing speeds”
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
And eye levels. ;)
halofolife - October 6, 2010
I thought it was cool...
he could have easily devolved into a ‘me monster’ in that moment and nobody would blamed him.
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
Halladay is the pro's Pro.
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
totally stayed within himself today
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
within his mechanics anyways
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Game 3. Do any of us have jobs??
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
yes I do
the best job in the world that doesn’t require wearing a cup
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Moondoggy, quick question.
My kids have been bugging to go to Asia, have you ever been to Tokyo? I was thinking of heading to Japan or Hong Kong.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
BTW,
I know Hong Kong isn’t in Japan.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
I've been to Tokyo briefly
not a fan of Japan. Not all that friendly and expensive as hell. The Hotels won’t let you have more than two to a room which means getting several rooms for vacation. I think Hong Kong is outstanding and it provides a gateway into China.
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
what do they got against threeway action?
Rev Halofan - October 6, 2010
That must be more of a Manila thang.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
only if you're into the under age crowd
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Gracias bro.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
But I also think Thailand should be considered
ruins, elephants, boats, oceans, a riot or two…plus, you could stay with us in Bangkok
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Sounds good,
Save some rioting for me & my boys.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
I took today off.
But more to the point, I have no life.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
working right now...
just not very hard
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
Wait, did O-Cab seriously bitch about the strikezone on a no-hitter?
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
hahaha
what a dufus
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Let's go Twins!
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
Sit down Jeter!
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
What if...
I know it won’t happen but what if the Angels signed Jeter as a FA? Would you be a fan?
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
I would
if for no other reason than it would completely cheese Yankee fans
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
I think the only thing I really dislike about him
is that he embodies all things Yankee as their poster boy. But pissing off Yankee fans is reason enough to sign him.
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
Only if we can sign Knoblauch to replace HK at 2nd too.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
weak weak weak
where’s that fearsome Yankee attack? (I know it’s early, but I jeer when I can)
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
Liriano has a perfect game so far
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
jinxed him
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
MLB Network has a spot for you.

Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
I wouldn't have sacrificed in the1st inning
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
He's 6-7, 290lbs on his profile
I’d take the over on 350lbs if I were betting it.
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
poop
Moondoggy - October 6, 2010
DY hitting four hole. They really miss Morneau
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
That flyball A-Roid hit was a game-tying homer off Fuentes last year

halofolife - October 6, 2010
LET'S GO TWINS!
firebird81 - October 6, 2010
these announcers suck
smoltz is 10 times more annoying than gubi.
OMG liriano has to face arod after tiex, oh noes.
yankees are a 500 club since august, nobody in that lineup is having a monster year.
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Is that John Smoltz? I thought he was doing the on field reporting for this crew
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
he;s in the boof
talkin about liriano, “he really needs to do well this inning, it’s important”
every fing inning. lol
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Yep it's pretty annoying. That and the Jeter jocksniffing
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
Yep. You know it's October,
When the Jeter jocksniffing begins.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
i guess cano is having a monster year
but teix and arod, no
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Wait, are we sure this is a Yankees game? Posada hasn't made a single mound visit
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
Nice baserunning O-Dog
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010

~MMP~ - October 6, 2010

firebird81 - October 6, 2010
3-0 Go Twins!
Hopefully that will not only be today’s score, but also the series outcome: 3-0 Twins.
angelslogic - October 6, 2010
Lookin' good Jeter.
halofolife - October 6, 2010
You know what I love, there are no Yankee fans there.
Minnesota has such great solidarity.
Wally's World - October 6, 2010

Rev Halofan - October 6, 2010
I see a number of yankee hats in the crowd...
firebird81 - October 6, 2010
On radio, almost Zero cheers when they get a hit, unlike other stadiums I've listened too.
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
Chip Caray sure sounds a lot like Keith Olbermann
angelslogic - October 6, 2010
except he's not whining about something I don't care about like KO
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
True. The mute button was made for people who blather like KO.
angelslogic - October 6, 2010
Where's the shiny suit?
firebird81 - October 6, 2010
Double-play.
Wally's World - October 6, 2010

~MMP~ - October 6, 2010

~MMP~ - October 6, 2010

Wally's World - October 6, 2010
Score more runs Twins. I have faith in you.
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
A look inside Sabathia's mind?
“Hmm, I wonder what food will be in the clubhouse after the game?
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
mine!...mine!....mine!...mine!
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
Gardner would sure look good in Halo red
blochead - October 6, 2010
He would, but I doubt the Yankees will trade him
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
What if they sign Crawford?
They have no need for him, but they are all about excess
blochead - October 6, 2010
Thanks Gardner!
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
I'm a little late here but
I am no longer planning on placing bets on the Reds in this playoffs. They have no chance.
ryanfea - October 6, 2010
Their pitching staff is pretty mediocre
blochead - October 6, 2010
Pitching coach:
“If you strike this guy out we have a whole box of Crispy Creams in clubhouse for you”
grahams98 - October 6, 2010
Come on Valencia
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
he looks like he should be delivering my newspaper

1-2-3 inning.
angelslogic - October 6, 2010
Father time is starting to catch up to Jeter
blochead - October 6, 2010
You must have missed the talk before the game about how Jeter is the greatest player to ever play in the postseason
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
He could never get old
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
SHIT
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010

Wally's World - October 6, 2010

PORNSTACHE!
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010

grahams98 - October 6, 2010

clover_black - October 6, 2010

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

angelslogic - October 6, 2010
All trades are final - no returns allowed.
angelslogic - October 6, 2010

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
well played mauer
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
Well played but not premium
angelslogic - October 6, 2010

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

Wally's World - October 6, 2010

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

grahams98 - October 6, 2010

grahams98 - October 6, 2010
Soooo Robertson gets the down and away extreme corner, but Crain doesn't get the high strike on Tex?
Nice job blue! NOT!
K3YEROUT - October 6, 2010
Welcome to this game's strikezone. It's been bad
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
This is what drives me more nuts than anything...until they start letting computers call consistent K zones...
This is just bad umpiring…and frankly, having tried that behind the plate calling balls/strikes before. I know I missed a few pitches too…make it simple mlb, make it simple.
K3YEROUT - October 6, 2010
3-0 early lead, followed by opposing team scoring more runs as game progresses.
I’m getting that deja vu feeling..
angelslogic - October 6, 2010
fuentes will put this out of reach
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
fuenty has new life
rawr
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

One and two-thirds scoreless innings

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
I expect it to become "If Posada catches it, it's a strike"
~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
Even more?
angelslogic - October 6, 2010

blochead - October 6, 2010

Wally's World - October 6, 2010
we got to him last ALCS
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
we did?
last i checked he didn’t blow any saves, gave up 1 run the entire 2009 playoffs
i guess we “got to him” more than anyone else, since the angels were the only team to score a run off him in 16 innings
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
yep, thats the one. He gave up some inherited runners too.
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
over his last 50 or 60 innings in the post season
he’s given up maybe 3 or 4 runs (it’s really that ridiculous), 2 of them to the angels.
we are the best!
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
That means that he's due for a serious turd.
Wally's World - October 6, 2010
his last 2 run performance in the post season
was a bs that won the world series for the diamond backs in 2001
guy is animal

~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
haha

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
But how about a wild pitch?
angelslogic - October 6, 2010
Span should have just taken every pitch... :(
K3YEROUT - October 6, 2010
pretty much
not sure if the umpire would have let him get a walk tho
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

~MMP~ - October 6, 2010
he;s that good

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
but really though
he is the greatest reliever ever and very ho hum about it all.
Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010

Quinlan's Goofy Swing - October 6, 2010
