Game threads freeze because so much is added so fast. paced posting can hold 2,000 comments no problem as the site refreshes itself.

yea def. a big factor. some places ive been though even with no action really do get really slow in the thousands but not all do.

also another factor besides the amount of comments at one are a lot of pics, or animation in a thread.

I originally joined in the fall of 2007

But when SBN updated, I had to re-register and signed in as “WiHaloFan” instead of my original screen name of “WiAngelsFan”. Not a big deal, just shaved a few months off of my seniority.

yes apparently you can but i didn't know this when i first joined. soon after joining i wanted to change it cause of other blogs but was unable to.

Recently though a member of another blog i noticed had changed there name so i asked them how and they told me to email support@sbnation.com and ask them to change it. I did this yesturday and then they sent me an email asking what i wanted to change it to. I have now told them and am just waiting for it to change. so yea you can but it isn’t as easy as some blogs to do.

Bummer!

If you look at the little Halosheaven box towards the bottom of your profile page it says your are a member of HH since Apr. 2006.

yea it says the right one there but not at the very top for some reason

I think the top date

is when either HH or all of SBN migrated over to the new format. Thus, everyone who was a member at that point got that as their start date.

Thanks for smartening me up!

You, Hakeem, and Clyde Drexler don’t have to read those posts. I think it is cool, on occasion, that the peeps share their symbiotic relationship of angel baseball and halos heaven. I think it is quite nice actually.

Lastly, i think Rev and the fellas run a tight ship. If you hate babies and people getting married on this blog you should see what we have to moderate and delete on a daily basis.

There is no way that those kinds of posts constitute what a reasonable person

would consider an obnoxious amount relative to the overwhelming number of high-level, fresh, insightful, clever, informative, etc. contributions that are made here multiple times times each day.

Posts like these are natural for a blog that is dedicated to a team such as the Angels. We don’t have a long history, iconic players or legendary moments like the Yankees, Sox, Cubs or Celtics, or whoever. What we have are Angel moments and Angel experiences that we share with our friends and families and blog colleagues. It’s more personal and more passionate in a lot of ways because it’s not something we read about or saw a documentary on. We were there, our parents took us, we took our kids, we went with a guy we met on a blog.

The best part, however, is that the Angels are more than that. To be able to discuss how to make a perennial division winner into a better team is a luxury few bloggers have. To be in the hunt for top free agents and to have young talent, league leaders and potential Hall of Famers is what makes this blog relevant and vibrant.

Put these things together and you have the very definition of a community.

Someday…perhaps someday, you will be fortunate enough to meet a gal that just turns you inside out…awakens a part of you that you didn’t even know existed. Just maybe, the scales will fall from you eyes and give you the ability to see beyond yourself.
