Final Score in Anaheim: Angels 5, Rangers 0
Pitcher Matt Palmer threw 5 innings of 1 hit ball and got his 11th win as the Angels again tuned up for the playoffs with more Salt Lake Bees than Angels on the field at the end of the contest.

5 Angel batters had a single RBI and 5 relievers combined to shut out a Texas team going through the motions. Darren Oliver threw an inning and struck out the side. While there is no guarantee that Palmer will even make the ALDS roster, he leads the team in Winning Percentage.
On the night Kendry Morales won the Team MVP award and Jered Weaver won the newly-minted Nick Adenhart award for the team's top pitcher of the season, the Angels scored their 866th run, tying the 1979 squad for most ever by an Angels team. They scored 851 in their championship 2002 season.

Just have to love that Texas came in needing a sweep...
…and are on the verge of getting swept. With our killer Bees getting substantial playing time.
Maybe Kinsler will keep his mouth shut next year.
sothball - September 30, 2009
But if he keeps his mouth shut they'll just fly flags like us, won't they?
;-D
Clutch - September 30, 2009
It's not Kinsler so much as those mouthy LSB fans.
44FAN - September 30, 2009
More Bees ownage.
I likes the youngsters.
shiftyeyedgoat - September 30, 2009
Matt Palmer always holding Win Card.
44FAN - September 30, 2009
Is that like a Get Out of Jail Free card?
Either way, I likes it!
Clutch - September 30, 2009
And can it be turned into a "Make It Out of the First Round" Card?
Clutch - September 30, 2009
Ellsworth Kelly, "Blue Curve"
44FAN - September 30, 2009
I used to re-name my Stratomatic players after artists
Ellsworth Kelly was Brett Saberhagen in his Cy Young season – a dominant pitcher.
Rev Halofan - September 30, 2009
again, the winning pic is here:

You have been pumping him up for most of the year...
…and he came through again tonight. He pitched well…
sothball - September 30, 2009

princeton11loveshalos - September 30, 2009
Run Support rides again.
Seriously, I really hope that Palmer is on the post season roster. Like Joe Saunders, he just seems very solid and imperturbable, like nothing EVER bothers him.
TheOptimist - September 30, 2009
huh?
Is there any doubt that he wouldn’t be on the post season roster?
ryanfea - September 30, 2009
Are you sure you don't mean 84 wins
Pecota told me we wouldn’t sniff 90
hauldog - September 30, 2009

She threw out the first pitch. Congratulations to Kendry Morales on MVP and to Jered Weaver for the Nick Adenhart Award. We were there tonight, will be there tomorrow for the game and rally. GO ANGELS!!!
firebird81 - September 30, 2009
we are going to need MORE details
I want a full report. Starting with whether or not she pulled up her pink pants when she was finished…
Rev Halofan - September 30, 2009

HALO N BRIMSTONE - October 1, 2009
Damn!
I went to the game with dad. We didn’t make it into our seats until the third batter. And we would have had a good view, too. We caught tonight’s action all the way down in section 112. It really is a completely different experience being that close to the field; you really get a sense of how the action unfolds, and just how fast it all happens. It really helps one appreciate the skill level of a major leaguer.
jjackflash - September 30, 2009
Question:
Do any of you know where the rally is tomorrow? Is it inside the stadium on the field, or is it in the parking lot?
bc56274 - September 30, 2009
From what I heard on the radio
It’s on the field
foxpaw - September 30, 2009
look at that pic above
the action was on the mound pregame tonight!
uh,,,,,, last year the rally was in the stadium….
Rev Halofan - September 30, 2009
Thanks..
I have tickets for the games tomorrow, and was hoping it was inside the stadium.
Who is that blonde mama? She could pitch for my team any day.
bc56274 - September 30, 2009
Holly Madison
Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriend.
Nashdiesel - September 30, 2009
OHHH ....
that’s why there were like 10 smoking hot ladies (and I mean SMOKING HOT) on the terrace level concourse after the game posing for pictures with people … they must have been playmates. Holy smokes.
Downing Rules - October 1, 2009
I saw them…DAMN!
firebird81 - October 1, 2009

Angels_48 - September 30, 2009

Angels_48 - October 1, 2009
Panther: Palmer
Though I voted for Figgy.
And I feel good about the fact that we are no longer 3-9 against the Rangers. Win ’em when it counts.
vladtheimpaler - October 1, 2009
and fly flags, ftw!
Downing Rules - October 2, 2009
Morales has lost a lot of weight...
and changed his number.

Haha! You're the only one who noticed that!
opiejeanne - October 1, 2009
I think everyone is busy staring at the Holly pic.
thrill000 - October 1, 2009
I'm a girl and even I was looking at her and wondering where she played softball.
I wonder how her pitch was, and if anyone noticed her pitching ability.
