Angels Victory Tuesday Clinches Red Sox Rematch

Final Score in Anaheim: Angels 5, Rangers 2

With a lineup featuring many Triple A players, the Angels eliminated the allegedly major league Texas Rangers from post-season contention. This assures the Halos of facing their postseason nemesis, the Boston Red Sox late next week in the American League Division Series.

Looming just a little further down the road, rookie starting pitcher Sean O`Sullivan dominated the Arlington Also-Rans and seems to be in contention for a 2010 rotation spot. The young Jack Black doppleganger struck out 3 Rangers in 5 innings, allowed 2 ER and gave up only 3 hits one night after giving a nationally televised and champagne-soaked locker-room popping demo, taking the team "best dancer" award uncontested.

Batting for Vladimir Guerrero in the 4th inning, Mike Napoli hit a 2 run single with the bases loaded and later in the game rookie Chris Pettit got a hit in his first major league plate appearance. Bobby Abreu went 2 for 3 with a solo HR off of 17-Game Winner Scott Feldman to get the night's scoring started. But according to some statistical analysts, WINS don't matter. Those analysts are not going to the postseason.

Hard to pick a Panther with Mike switching people out.

I went with Naps.

It's the coneheads!

Sean “Irish Jiggy” O’Sullivan for POTG

Fun laid back game to watch.

Youngsters got to do their thing. I went with SOS. He was solid.

O'Sullivan

Rebounding like that is what he needed.

Besides, how can you not give it to him with those dance moves?

POTG: The Salt Lake Bees
I just got home.

How come Kazmir didn’t start?

Give him some rest before the playoffs
Okay, thanks man. I was hoping to hear that.
Underachiever of the Game: Willits

0-4, 1 BB, 1 K, LOB: 6

Rogaine for the Win

SOS and his punk pipers

By the way, Chowds...

You’re Welcome.

Wow

I think we’re all pooped from last night. I haven’t seen a thread so empty. Go Pettit for his first hit!

I'm busy girding my loins

for the onslaught of Groundhog Day references to come.

Tonight’s game was a lot of fun, seeing Brandon Wood freed and Pettit getting his first hit and run scored. Also, Bobby Wilson looked pretty good at the plate.

How's this for a reference?

Sean Connery: I’ll take Pet tit for 1000, Trebek.

Alex Trebek: Mr. Connery, that’s Pettit.

Sean Connery: Really, Trebek? Your mother didn’t seem to mind…ha ha ha.

Celebrity Jeopardy! FTW!!!!
Just to clear up confusion....

This was Chris Pettit’s:

First Game: No
First PA: No
First AB: Yes
First Hit: Yes
First Run: No

And yeah, Bobby looked great.

PA

I believe it was. He appeared in one game as a pinch-runner (and scored), but had never come to bat.

bring on the Sux....

that is all

Hey Boston. Do you like the playoffs? You’re welcome.

Lanckey doing his best Clubber Lang imitation...

(To Josh Beckett’s Wife): Hey, Woman. Hey, Woman! Listen here. Since your old man ain’t got no heart, maybe you like to see a real man. I bet you stay up late every night dreamin’ you had a real man, don’t ya? I’ll tell you what. Bring your pretty little self over to my apartment tonight, and I’ll show you a real man.
