Seriously, just give everyone a breather and start this lineup tonight in the Fenway Toilet:

Gary Matthews Jr. CF
Bobby Abreu DH (give him a chance to charge the mound and dislocate Josh Beckett's Shoulder)
Brandon Wood SS
Terry Evans 1B
Chris Petit LF
Trevor Bell SP
Why put your real team on the field when the umpires already have designs on the game's outcome?

Not a bad idea
The crew could use the rest in gearing up for the 3 game series against Texas this weekend. I’m resigned to the fact we will have to put up with this team again in 3 weeks, hopefully with the best ump crew for the division series (and by best I mean not the morons who ran the game last night)

Or Eddings.

I definitely think Brandon Wood
Should get a start.
TheAntiSox - September 17, 2009
I like the idea
But think that it would send the wrong message to the team.
ReggieBullits - September 17, 2009
as long as the team understands why you are doing it i say go for it

If the photo above is from Green's AB in the 9th...
..I wish someone would post a video clip of Butcher’s reaction to the call on the 9th pitch. If I read lips correctly, he said several times, “Un-f***ing-believable!”.

He was already saying that
on the “checked swing” that wasn’t called a strike

It's funny you mention that...
I made this earlier as I was going to write something for HH about last night’s game, but see there’s been enough already:

It gets kind of annoying after awhile.

Just think of the bench ....
if it is close and you can pinch hit with Torii or Cowbell, or pinch run with Figgy. Awesome
We might even win, that would be f***ing hilarious.

I said it yesterday.
Though they came back then and then lost it and then came back and lost it and….
But seriously, I think most of them could use the rest. I’d love to see the rookies come out against Boston. See what they can do for the post season.
And BUCK FOSTON!
My new favorite slogan!

How about
Buck the Fed Fox?

Angels getting past the ALDS
Last year Joe Maddon talked about getting the Rays mentally prepared to beat the Yankees and Boston and having the mindset that they could beat them both, and that was a major factor of getting to the World Series. It doesn’t appear Scioscia has done this with the Angels from the comments from Hunter after the game last night, this team still seems to be searching for answers.

We should make Quinlan play an inning in every positon tonight
RexTookMyStash - September 17, 2009
YES
He should keep switching back and forth with Figgy in their alternating!
Juancho needs the start at second tonight, too…
Clutch - September 17, 2009
The starters should play the rest of the season.
they have had enough rest due to the DL.
SenorChuckles - September 17, 2009
Hahaha... you're funny Rev...
It’s ok. I won’t hold this against you.
