The Angels are not letting a pennant race stop them from promotional appearances where fans can meet their favorite players. Two star Angel players will be signing autographs in Orange County next Friday afternoon:
Angels All Star 3Bman Chone Figgins will be signing autographs at the Costco store in Fountain Valley (17900 Newhope St) on Friday August 28, 2009 from 11:30am until 1pm.
At the same time, Angels 2Bman and future batting champion Howie Kendrick will be signing autographs at the AT&T store in Seal Beach (12830 Seal Beach Blvd) on Friday August 28, 2009 from 11:30am until 1pm
Would someone please report back about what is under Figgy's arm-band-aid...

Don't quote me on this but
I remember either an interview with Figgy or the broadcasters talking about him and his band aid and he said it’s a tribute to his family… To show that he’s thinking of them, that they’re with him, etc, etc… B/c it’s vaguely butterfly shaped or something like that… Not sure that I remeber right, but does it sound familiar to anyone else?

Kendrick
He’s a future batting champ, even if Scioscia benches him 4 days a week.

Kudos
on the name

Figgy's going to be signing autographs at Costco
Cool. I can pick up a case of beer, and a flat screen TV twin pack with 20 LBS. of jerky, AND a Figgy autograph.
halofolife - August 20, 2009
You forgot the pretzels.
opiejeanne - August 20, 2009
I don't really need the pretzels.
But I have been getting my fiber, so toilet paper is a must.
halofolife - August 20, 2009
You mean your NOT going to Howard's for the flat screen?
Angel Hawker - August 21, 2009
1500 tube socks for eleven bucks sounds like quite the bargain.
Fred Fredrix - August 21, 2009
Why couldn't this be on a saturday?
Oh well, I’m sure the majority of the callers from The Drive will be there. It’s not as if they are jet setting midday on a friday.
I hope a palette of kirkland water finds it’s way on top of Mel.
clover_black - August 20, 2009
Mr opiejeanne says we are going to that event.
I think the only other thing we have to do that day is talk to someone about his retirement plan, to make sure we’ve got all our ducks in a row, although why we want to line up ducks like that is a mystery.
opiejeanne - August 20, 2009
Duck's are most efficient in a formation
eyespy - August 21, 2009
Going to the Costco, I should have said, to get Figgy's autograph. Duh.
opiejeanne - August 21, 2009
Band aid is Figgy's source of power
Quote it
Slyintine - August 20, 2009
He keeps his anti-Kryptonite under it.

I love it

I live on the border of Seal Beach and work down the street from Costco.
My films on Desmond.

Angels 2Bman and future batting champion Howie Kendrick
LOL!
I never get tired of hearing this BS
KingF15h - August 21, 2009
Figgy is just like Marcellus Wallace...
Or maybe it’s just a boo boo.
Monkeyspanked - August 21, 2009
Aw man I was gonna hit the Figgy signing
But it’s getting so much pub that 90 minutes probably won’t be long enough to get through the line.
ReggieBullits - August 21, 2009
that's what I'm wondering
Fred Fredrix - August 21, 2009
Go early.
opiejeanne - August 21, 2009
Of course.
I’m curious if you need a Costco membership to get in. Anyone know?
ReggieBullits - August 21, 2009
I suspect this will be an outdoor event, in the parking lot.
opiejeanne - August 21, 2009
So much publicity where? I haven’t heard anything except here at HH.
Downing Rules - August 21, 2009
It's on the MLB Angels site, if you dig for it,
and Rex and Phyzz have mentioned it a couple of times.
opiejeanne - August 21, 2009
Well I'm close to Seal Beach
But I wanna see Figgins. HELP
Figgi4life - August 21, 2009 via mobile
What kind of assistance do you need? A ride?
opiejeanne - August 21, 2009
No.
Just a desicion lol
Figgi4life - August 28, 2009 via mobile
If you are close to Seal Beach, then you are not far from Fountain Valley. Change your location. My work here is done. ;)
Downing Rules - August 21, 2009
i'm going
bringing my 2002 world series baseball for him to sign

saturday's game (08/29/09)
When I look on-line to purchase tickets for saturday’s game against the A’s, there is a box for a promotional code… I know the date is not available to use the “SUMMER” promotion code, does anyone know if there’s some other promotion? Or is the box just there on accident. I’ve been trying to find this out- it’s the only game in this home stand that I don’t have tickets for (yet!). Any info will be appreciated.
gobeydog - August 28, 2009
the box is always there
even if there is no promotion
figgifig - August 28, 2009
wrong.
There has to be some promotion, just not available to everyone.
Downing Rules - August 28, 2009
WASTE OF TIME
I got there at 10:45AM. Left at 1:00PM empty handed. I estimate that you had to get there by 10:00AM AT THE LATEST to get an auto, unless you had someone holding a place in line for you! ;)
No wonder why I just buy manufacturer-certified autos via Ebay at $5 a piece. Much easier.
I went there to get my kids a chance to meet Figgy face-to-face. Needless to say, it ended up being a lesson in “you can’t win ’em all.”
However, I am just going to skip all future signings such as this one. I will use the time I would have wasted in lines driving to Spring Training where you have a lot better access to the players.
Downing Rules - August 28, 2009
Dude.
There were 3,000-4,000 people there. It was crazy
Figgi4life - August 28, 2009 via mobile
