Probably not. Just don't want to blame any of these three.
The team didn’t give him any support but sometimes it’s just because the other pitcher is have a good night. Yeah, the wheels fell off for both him and Palmer, but, meh. Just a lousy game all around.
I’m sure they still remember the time everyone got sick after eating sliders in Detroit because they missed their flight to Toronto a couple of seasons ago.
Hope they fly directly to the Great White North this time.
Yeah, every player has the makeup of a Cal Ripken. I’ll ask all major league players how they’d feel about playing that many games in a row and I’d wager that they would fold under that kind of pressure.
How many playoff runs did Cal have to prepare for? Yeah, that’s right … a whopping THREE in 21 seasons.
That guy is so dang overrated it makes me sick. Yes, the streak was amazing, but that was about it for him. I’m not a big Cal Ripken fan, as you can tell. Didn’t help that his record-breaking game “party” was against the Angels and man did our franchise look like a joke that night.
I couldn't give a rats pooper about Cal myself.....
I just think players have gotten a bit soft, or maybe the managers have, who knows? I don’t have a problem with rest per se, I just don’t like it when we get both Mathis and Matthews in the lineup together. It just seems to kill any rallies near the bottom of the order.
1. He completely destroyed and rebuilt how people think about shortstops, paving the way for A-Rod, Tejada, Nomar, etc.
2. He won 2 MVP’s, a RoY, and a World Series MVP
3. He was a great fielder in his prime, winning a couple gold gloves
4. He posted a 112 OPS+ at the second most difficult defensive position AND
5. He played in 2,632 games in a row
Thanks for that, although I never said he was awful. Simply overrated and only had 3 playoff runs in 21 years. YAWN. I just don’t care for the player in spite of all of those stats weighing down on me.
Odd that Figgins is on the block, but Vlad went 0 for 4 and left 4 on, yet evades the axe. At least Figgins walked once and played typically good defense.
“Oh, he’s very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, waistoids, dweebies, dickheads – they all adore him. They think he’s a righteous dude.”
I'm not voting. I don't want to blame any of these three.

Did I miss someone?

11 Runs...
…warrants a blame.
clover_black - August 20, 2009
Fine, you can choose just one person to give it to, go ahead.
Not saying anyone else shouldn’t, just saying that I don’t want to.
opiejeanne - August 20, 2009
Oh well can't win em all
I secretly enjoy when Lackey has a bad day. It will drive down his price in the offseason
UCIHalo - August 20, 2009
Not much. Not unless he loses a significant number.
opiejeanne - August 20, 2009
Scioscia??
For giving us the dynamic duo of Mendoza and HGH………….I am just saying, I hate when we get them together.
pslakerfan - August 20, 2009
Thats who I look at
I don’t think anyone is really to blame, probably just the whole team. Looks like another game where they didn’t wanna play
JoseGuillenSux - August 20, 2009
They are off to Toronto
and dinner at White Castle.
I’m sure they still remember the time everyone got sick after eating sliders in Detroit because they missed their flight to Toronto a couple of seasons ago.

eyespy - August 20, 2009
well, mendoza and HGH didn't procure 11 runs.
although that GMJ bobble had me shaking my head.
clover_black - August 20, 2009
Serious number of games coming up...
gotta play the bench.
Downing Rules - August 21, 2009
Hmmm...
I will ask Cal Ripken Jr. what he thinks about that one.
pslakerfan - August 21, 2009
LOL!

Hasn’t Hunter had enough rest lately?
pslakerfan - August 21, 2009
RE: Hunter ...
I think he sat again today. He had a strained adductor and I think he has a sore groin. Sit him as much as possible, IMHO.

Except for the fact...
1. He completely destroyed and rebuilt how people think about shortstops, paving the way for A-Rod, Tejada, Nomar, etc.

It's okay that we lost.
We played with luminous resistance power.

No Vlad?

I mean
Lackey. Because he gave up like 7 in one inning.
We had 3 runs, which seemed to have sufficed the game prior to that one.
Slyintine - August 20, 2009
My bad. 6

Bummer
Just gonna have to kick some ass tomorrow.

Rory Markus provided a great silver lining during the radio broadcast ...
at least the game was played and not rained out. The Halos can ill-afford another makeup game.
Shane Loux appears to be WORSE THAN Speier.
I think we lose 2 in Toronto, but it will still be a great road trip, record-wise.
Downing Rules - August 21, 2009
Blame: John Lackey.
DFA Lackey!
Well, I’ll might feel differently tomorrow. Maybe. Probably. Most assuredly. Okay, I take it back.
