From my old blog: 5 Years ago today, The Season Seat Holder POST-SEASON PACKAGE was almost due. In the Right Field MVP seats, the cost was $481 per seat. On the field that day in the Bronx, Ramon Ortiz and the Angels beat the Yankees.

Slow day in the life Rev?

Here's something to talk about
Alan Dershowitz, of OJ, Mike Tyson, and many others fame, is having a sissy fit about the suspension of our favorite RoidSux to hate on Kevin Youkilis.
LINK to Boston.com
Also they have some good ones, as always it is Boston, in the comments.
DO NOT GO TO MR. DERSHOWITZ HOMEPAGE. IT IS INFECTED WITH A TROJAN. REALLY.

I wish you hadn't sent me to that article
Blood started leaking out of my ears when he proposed that managers or pitchers who intentionally bean get banned for a season to life, and that pitchers and coaches be liable lest they turn in managers who order beaning.
And after his exhaustive romp through fantasyland he admits that proof may be difficult, but if MLB deems beaning was intentionaly punishment should be swift… Intention can be proved how?!
Is this guy actually paid to string words together?

Considering Josh Becket was suspended for purposefully throwing at Abreu
Doesn’t this mean he would be banned for a season?
Gorbachav5 - August 20, 2009
He did not miss a start what a load of crap
hauldog - August 20, 2009
Yea Bud Selig fail...
it makes me sick that people keep talk about Josh Becket being a Cy Young Candidate.
SenorChuckles - August 20, 2009
What's great about this is that he's a lawyer
“proof may be difficult” — So we should go ahead and institute bannings based on supposition, presumably. That’s a good legal standard to implement.

Alan Dershowitz is a Douchewitz
Bean ball is part of the game. If a player like “Big Baby” Youklis can’t handle it, maybe he shouldn’t play. As long as it’s not head hunting with fastballs I think it’s a vital part of the game. How else does the pitcher show the batters up? The batters show pitchers up all the time these days with their “stop and stare” and “bat flip.” Showing up the batter is for me, one of the most exciting parts of the game. Too many pitchers these days are afraid to throw inside, to own part of the plate. The threat that Lackey will nail a batters ass is one of the things I like about him so much. And let’s not even talk about Nolan Ryan! Shut up Douchewitz.
Besides, Youklis was probably experiencing roid rage.

What is this douchebag talking about???
"…the decision to throw at Youkilis was premeditated and deliberate whereas Youkilis’s response was unpremeditated and provoked."
Like the Tigers were never provoked? I like how Dershowitz conveniently leaves out the fact that Porcello was retaliating for Miguel Cabrera and Brandon Inge, who were victims of "premeditated and deliberate" plunkings by Red Sux pitchers in the previous night’s game. Don’t let messy things like facts get in the way of a good whine, Alan.

The Tigers may have been provoked, but the beaning was still premeditated
Just sayin’. I agree with you otherwise.

This year:
Front row Right Field Pavilion: $891/seat
thrill000 - August 20, 2009
And $460 of that rolled over into your 2005 renewal...
what a pisser of a post-season that was.
Downing Rules - August 20, 2009
You broke your own rule... somehow, if you apply the laws of time travel
Beating the Yankees is always a little extra nice.
This should help the clubhouse confidence and chemistry.
And if C & C are overrated, walk the walk Stat Head, show me the championship teams that only beat the losers.
Chemistry… Bring me that championship!
