Hunter
Is there a better teammate than Torii Hunter?
Outisde of the coaching staff, Hunter appeared to be the glue which held together the team during its rough start and subsequent shock over Adenhart. His offense and defense has carried the team on some games. He roots for his teammates and their success. He provides quotes for the reporters, often facing the press after a tough loss when nobody else wants to talk.
His contract, thus far, is a freaking bargain.

100% agreement.
When he signed with the Angels, I thought he’d be an upgrade over GMJ, but not by much.
Was I ever wrong. I don’t know where the Angels would be this year without Hunter. He’s runaway team MVP (so far), and – if he continues through the 2nd half like the 1st half – should be in the top 5 for AL MVP.

I agree too
When the Angels first signed him I was excited to get a player like him on the team, but thought they over-paid for him. I was wrong, he’s been worth every penny for all he does on and off the field.

Fuentes has me eating crow
While I thought Fuentes would give the Angels a different look in the 9th inning, I also thought he would have a few more implosions by now.
He does it with no drama, no pomp, no point to the sky celebrations – which may mean Fuentes is comotose or maybe a good thing for peace of mind [for Angels fans] after four years of K-Rod.
Hopefully the good run for Fuentes continues through the second half.

I've been saying all along.......
any (decent) pitcher can succeed as the closer here with the Angels…….they get a ton of opportunities…I knew that after a full season the difference in stats for Frankie and for Fuentes wouldnt be too far off…..
