Joe Squanders Doesn't Stop Angels Broom in KC

Final Score in Missouri: Angels 9, Royals 6

Down by 4 runs to the Royals in Kansas City with only 7 outs to go, the Angels built a 3 run lead before they made 4 more outs. On a night when Joe Saunders ran out of gas after his 80th pitch (which is becoming quite the clockwork notion), the Angels made the longball matter. Maicer Izturis hit a 2-run HR early, Howie Kendrick hit a solo shot when the chips were down and Mike Napoli hit a blast in the 8th to tie it.

Star-divide

Saunders was on the ropes in a terrible 5th inning that saw 3 runs score with two outs. Hokie Joe then wimped in another run in the 6th and that was all, the boat that was to have sailed sunk, but Justin Speier, usually a bucket-hand on deck to stop the leaking, turned into a shutdown sunny day on the high seas as the SS Angel made a turn at the Comeback Sea. Speier got the win in relief and Brian Fuentes picked up his league leading 30th Save, becoming only the 2nd lefty in baseball history to have 30 Saves in each league.

I kind of want to go with chone figgins and his four hits

including the lead-securing double.

Agree. Figgins for Panther.
I voted for Figgy, but wanted to see an option of Speier
these guys are machines right now

nice come back

too many nominees ...

ill throw some love to izzy for getting the party started

I love this god darn team!!!

I got it bad!

Me too. Also.

And I love this forum. Also.

We are not alone.
win or lose

;)

Lose?

Then I become bandwagon Dodger fan. Need to find there SB Nation Site.

its gotta go to izzy

i still find it pretty weird that chone didnt score any runs considering he went 4-5 and the guy behind him (izzy) went 3-5 and had 4 rbi

Probably should have gone to Figgy

But Nap’s HR made me smile.

Donde esta Figgy??

but I went with izzy and naps definetely helped out the cause

SORRY - FIGGY ADDED

brain cramp on my part, Chine did his part for us tonight to be sure!

muchas gracias

even though i already posted my vote
darn!

Delete the poll, then re-start it.

I went with Naps though. His HR tied the game and gave me genuine hope.

ehh im gonna pull a G.A.

i dont really feel like going thru all that again

This game on MLB gameday

Made sitting through 4 hours of LSAT class bearable

Go Halos!
Dugout Suite Tix tomorrow, pumped!

epic fail

imagine 2 months studying for the bar. CHOOSE ANOTHER PROFESSION :(

Up.
I got NO points.

I’m going to cry myself to sleep tonight.

Ditto

This week has been fantastic for the Halos and terrible for my picks.

That makes it hurt less.

But I usually get at least one point. I was doing so well there for a while…. wahhhhh!

wow tejada

got the #3 web gem of 3 and was the same play aybar made but easier…lame

“was the same play aybar made but easier”

If it was easier, how could it have been the same. Help me here, newton.

Aybar got number 3 play of the weekend last Monday

So no Angels on ESPN until next season

The top two plays were ho-hum.

Crawford’s play wasn’t nearly as good as they made it sound like, and Denard Span’s “great play” was in a 12-1 game. Seriously, game situation has to be a factor, right?

That's why you gotta give Wise the #1 web gem.
Speier and Jepsen pitched well

Jepsen has been great his last 7 appearances, maybe he’ll actually be a legitimate arm out of the bullpen.

Great photo caption there Rev Halofan.
I looked at Royals Review tonight

and the comments on the thread from last night were pretty entertaining. These fans deserve a team that wins, as long as it’s not when we’re playing them.

(I did not comment, only read the thread. They are pouring salt in their own wounds)

I actually started feeling sorry for the TEAM, not the fans. The fans are abandoning hope. Leaving in droves like a bunch of disinterested Southern Californians used to at the stroke of 9:30PM. I guess the rest of the nation copied us on leaving games early.

I saw that shot of them pouring out of the stadium.

Here they used to leave because of traffic whether the Angels were winning or not. We lived in Riverside but we never left early. Now most of our fans stay to the bitter end, afraid of missing anything. My dad watched the last 3 innings of the game on Easter and asked us why the fans were standing at the end of the game, when we only needed one more out to win. I told him we are a blood-thirsty bunch, and it was Boston.

I feel bad for them too

But at the same time…what they are saying is highly entertaining

I couldn’t help but clap a tiny bit seeing that Texas swept the Red Sox. Even though they are our direct competition, I am glad the Rangers took it to the Red Sox. Now, you can proceed to lose the next 20, Texas.

I was so torn about that series. I wanted them both to lose.
Someone posted in a game thread...

…in the series between the Sux and Rangers, they were cheering for the umpires.

No way I root for Rangers and Mary-ners

Not till we have a 10 game lead with 9 to go.

My wife thinks Nap is the hottest Angel

JOE SQUANDERS

PANTHER nickname

Let’s hope he outgrows it.

dear god yes
We need to play KC and the NL West more!
What about those yanks?

Those are easy too…

(The nickname wouldn’t work here because it would sound odd LOL)
