Erick Aybar Stays Hot As Angels Take Two

Final Score in Game Two: Angels 10, Royals 2

Angels shortstop Erick Aybar lit up the Kansas City pitching staff, going 4 for 5 with 3 RBI, Bobby Abreu added in three doubles while driving in 3 runs and Rob Quinlan muscled up with a homer in the 3rd inning as the Angels scored 18 runs in the twin-bill.  For the day, Aybar was a blistering 7 for 9 with 4 RBI and 5 runs scored.  On the pitching side, rookie Sean O'Sullivan went 5.1, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits to get his 3rd win.

The shocker of the evening came in the 6th inning when Justin Speier entered the game with Jose Guillen representing the tying run on second base.  Speier, who had retired just one batter out of the last 13 he faced, struck out John Buck and Ryan Freel to preserve the Halo lead.

The Halos broke open the game in the 7th when they scored seven times, highlighted by Aybar's bases loaded triple.

With Tuesday's losses, the Royals have lost 8 straight, while the Angels improved to 54-38 on the season and have won 8 of their last 10.

Aybar the double headed panther

ATHF for the win

With the Mooninites!

No love for Bobby?

Aybar got all his RBI on one hit. Bobby had 3 different doubles that brought in runs each time, granted it was Aybar he brought in twice.

LSB cracks me up .
Best part of winning

is looking at other blogs like LSB or LL and seeing how much they hate our team. My favorite line is “they can’t keep this up without Vlad or Torii.” or “they are soo lucky”. Winning with our current line up is the biggest FU to other teams. Let’s GO HALOS!!!!!!

Up!
Game 92 was the first game today, right?
It's the Domican-Venezuelan Connection!
Is it too late

To trade Aybar for a bag of balls?

Honestly not a good thing to joke about

The guy who was traded for bats was really messed up because of it. There was an article in ESPN mag.

A team did that?

Pretty cold.

here

Thank you.

That is just wrong. All of it.

great 6+ hours of baseball
No love for Q...

he had a heck of a night.

Hard to beat the guy who went a combined 7-9 in the two games.

Incidentally, I had a blast at Kaufmann Stadium, watching us sweep the doubleheader was well worth the $43 ticket. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m gonna go sleep for about a year. :)

I cannot argue with that. However, I saw no love and just thought I’d give some to Q.

Aybar the first double panther?
I hate to be negative

But it’s only a matter of time before O’Sullivan gets lit up. We need to get another starter, and fast.

good point...

…he finally settled down, but was the most nervous I have seen him in any of his starts up here. Looks like someone may have scouted him, and that will be arounfd the league if he is slotted into a regular role here.

I love it when a plan comes together!
