Final Score in L.A. of Anaheim: Yankees: 6, Angels: 10
When Mark Teixeira made his first appearance in a Yankees uniform at Angels Stadium, the place he called home last Summer, the hometown crowd heartily booed the P-Whipped lout. The Angels television audience had to endure Angels broadcaster Steve Physioc, in the middle of an all-night Yankee stroke-athon did his damndest to talk over the emotion of Angels fan - as he has made a heartless habit of doing his whole career. But Physioc's never-ending audition for a national sports announcing job could not extinguish the hope in Angels fans' hearts nor the power in their bats.
Down 4-0 at one point, the Angels tied the score at 5 apiece int he 5th and won 10-6 on the backs of 3-run homers by 1B Kendry Morales and SS Erick Aybar.
Both of these homers came with two outs, they were at-bats that would not have occurred had Alex Rodriguez not made an error in the 5th inning and Derek Jeter an error in the 7th inning. The glory hole twins got their golden shower of jeers from the sold out Angel Stadium crowd who were happily spared Physioc's french-kissing of everything related to pinstripes.
Joe Saunders was terrible as the Angels starter, Jason Bulger got the Win in relief for being in the right place at the right time and All Star Closer Brian Fuentes got the final out of the 9th inning for his Major League Leading 25th Save. Joba Chamberlain was all too human and hittable in his weak start for the Bronx Bombers.

Panther: Mickey Hatcher
That was fun. Great comeback. Don’t know how long we can keep this up though without quality starts.
vladtheimpaler - July 10, 2009
Didn't have one tonight
and the offenses, and pen picked the team up.
As long as the starters don’t give up. Four, or five runs doesn’t seem too much of a lead for us to make up.

K-MO FTW....
Aybar…….well…….he’s still a bastard.

What on earth is wrong with Saunders?
Aybar, usually a target of my ire, is my vote for panther with his big fly ding dong.

If our pitching gets out of this slump...
We’re unbeatable. Until then, we’re just pretty good.

Just got back from the game
so much fun. Best game I’ve been to in a couple of years
UCIHalo - July 10, 2009
it was fun listening to the whole game with no announcers
Fred Fredrix - July 10, 2009
I know!
I loved it!
Figgi4life - July 10, 2009
The Angel announcers really sucked this game
I don’t usually comment on this, but their behavior was ridiculous. Ok, say a yankee is good but don’t keep beating us over the head with it and don’t ignore our own team’s accomplishments. It was weird. I just got MLB TV here on Guam recently and I have been listening/watching these guys over the past month. I didn’t notice them being this bad before today.

Welcome to FSWest Broadcasting Suckdom!
TheChaz - July 10, 2009
Poor Phys
Wow Rev, I would have to say ever since your post about how terrible Phys is as an ANGELS broadcaster I really never noticed how anti-homer he is… I’m sure he had to take a quick second to drop an f-bomb at the fact the poor ole Jankees lost… Will some national broadcast please take him off our hands so we can enjoy a pro-angel broadcast…. Oh and Rev, nice posts on the Register’s blog.. Hahaha I was rollin
Halo_Fan47 - July 10, 2009 via mobile
funny thing about the old media
they get real jealous when a blogger has more readers than them.
and then they get outraged when that same said blogger actually as some influence over the staus quo they enjoy.
print media is like the guy in the 1950s listening to glenn miller all vacation long and he shows up for the first day of school and everyone else discovered elvis over the summer.

Is it me
Or does it seem like Bigsy is doing absolutely anything else but listening to the caller.
I swear to God I can hear him twittering, watching NFL Classic games, and reading the new maxim while just grunting “Uh-uh” during calls.
Dont get me wrong, I really like him, it just seems like he is CONSTANTLY multitasking.
PhiSlamma - July 11, 2009
I didn’t get to hear the apparent suckage of Physioc tonight since I was at the game (pretty incredible game to go to), but it sounds harsh.
Anyways I voted for K-Mo, that was an absolute bomb he hit.

We’re harsh.

howiestheman - July 10, 2009
Great game!
I was in Upper View 507 and that Kendry homer was a monster!
LittleCupcakes - July 10, 2009
Agreed
Sat in 202, that homer was an absolute BOMB. Not even the slightest doubt when he hit that thing, landed halfway up the batter’s eye in CF!
Really we don’t get to see that many monster shots anymore these days so it was pretty impressive.
Neo8234 - July 11, 2009
Wasn't able to watch the game
BUT I was so happy to hear that our fans booed Teix. I seriously don’t like that guy anymore and there will be no appealing to my logic. “Oh, come on you can’t blame Teix. He has the right to take the most money.” SCREW that. I’d boo him all night long. For what can sometimes be considered a “fair-weather” fan base we showed tonight that we do know when someone deserves a good booing. On top of that we won. I’m proud to be an Angels fan tonight. Suck it Teix.

scottnak - July 11, 2009
What, nobody even mentions Gary Matthews Jr. got his 1000th career hit tonight?
No?
Why that is just appalling.

True.
1300 or so to go to catch the old man.

Loux is back, Thompson sent back down to SLC
Sending Chopper to SLC is necessary, but Loux is NOT even remotely part of the answer for fixing Angel pitching
mustard_man - July 11, 2009
Kendry for Panther
I am sure this was talked about during the game thread (maybe not?) but although I am very pro Kendry – I miss Tex’s glove….
gorams77 - July 11, 2009
Didn't see this game as I was driving out of town.
(But, then, if you check my pre-game pickage game summary you will notice that I did not need to wait around to see how things were going to pan out!!!)
About Kendry’s shot: at BP earlier in the week pre-game with Texas, K’Mo was THE halo god of HR demo derby. Into the right field tunnel on the fly.
