Final Score: Dodgers 6, Angels 4
RevHF Reporting: It was nice to walk around the city of Los Angels with an Angels hat tonight. I missed the game and everyone in L.A. who likes the Dodgers was somewhere else.
And in this regard, the Angels ruled L.A. tonight courtesy of my hat.
The bottom line is that when Jered Weaver performs this poorly, I don't even submit this postgame thread for distribution to Yahoo Sports. Funny right, we work hard to get this blog into the position where Halos Heaven is the unquestioned mothership of the Halos fan presence online but with one embarrassing loss to the Dodgers, instead of analyzing the contest to a national audience via our prominent link on the biggest sports website on earth with whom I am partnered up, here I stand, head in hand, turned my back to the wall, if she's gone I can't go on, feelin' two-foot small. Everywhere people stare, each and every day, I can see them laugh at me and I hear them say "Hey you've got to hide your love away... Hey you've got to hide your love away."
Hopefully we perform better tomorrow at 5 PM on ESPN's Sunday night baseball game.

Billy Mac just called them the Doyers
then Billy and Rex go on to say that the NL West sucks, and the NL sucks for lack of talent.
eyespy - June 20, 2009
i vote for neither for BOTG
my vote would go to either Aybar or Mathis. both did NOTHING with the bat, and both made stupid plays on defense that led to runs.
howiestheman - June 20, 2009
Mathis has the immunity of the Soth.
44FAN - June 20, 2009
in my opinion those 2 weigh down the lineup every night especially Mathis
dmoney2741 - June 20, 2009
What did Aybar do?
Brody - June 20, 2009
he went 0-4 and struck out on a pitch that hit him
dmoney2741 - June 20, 2009
and walked?
Figgi4life - June 20, 2009
yeah that too my bad
but the rest was crap
dmoney2741 - June 20, 2009
He was 0-3, not 0-4
One of those outs was on a ball that he crushed to the wall and should have been extra bases but was caught on a ridiculous play by Matt Kemp. He also walked in a late-inning situation, putting two men on base for Figgy.
Also, the post I was responding to indicates that he made a stupid play in the field that led to runs. I don’t recall any such play, and you don’t mention any such defensive error.
I don’t understand the constant criticism of Aybar. He has played well, making numerous good defensive plays and hitting consistently in the .280-.300 range, which is more than adequate for a #9 hitter and middle infielder. In addition, as I pointed out yesterday, his slugging percentage is higher than Vlad’s.
Brody - June 21, 2009
Why didn't Soth bat Naps for Aybar in the bottom of the 9th?
red floyd - June 20, 2009
Frustrating game
Weave started out great for two innings — then he hit a wall and so did the rest of the team too. Too bad because it seems like a long time since we lost with Weave on the mound.
Brody - June 20, 2009
BOTG= Jeff's parents for wearing those ridiculously stupid jinxing jerseys.
Those must be burned.
44FAN - June 20, 2009
but take them off first....
Figgi4life - June 20, 2009
oh god that sounded wrong...
I meant don’t burn the jerseys while they’re on the parents
Figgi4life - June 20, 2009
If so, I would have said they instead of those. Silly rabbit.
44FAN - June 20, 2009
Figgi4life meant the "take them off first" sounded wrong.
red floyd - June 20, 2009
thank god
Figgi4life - June 20, 2009
Is this Halos Heaven, or the Rangers' blog
Big Easy Halofan - June 20, 2009
thats the pitcher that threw the wild pitch to give the Giants the win
dmoney2741 - June 20, 2009
Ah, so this is the Giants' blog?
Just bullshittin’, though I believe it is entirely too goddamn early to be scoreboard watching. But go ahead if you must…
Big Easy Halofan - June 20, 2009
too early for some
im a fan of the game i like watching all the games. thats why i have mlb.tv so i can check in on all the interesting matchups.
dmoney2741 - June 20, 2009
What can I say, you can't win 'em all...
Big Easy Halofan - June 20, 2009
I chose Weaver
way way too many hits given up and add in 3 walks, a pretty easy decision.
But I really thought the game turned on the play where the Dodgers went ahead 3-2. Torii airmailed the throw and if he just makes a throw that can be cutoff the Angels get an out and go into their part of the inning only down by 1. Instead both runners advance and the next hit it was pretty much game over.
MH252525 - June 20, 2009
I know this is the wrong thread but....
I can’t help but to feel that I began a self destructive argument between the Halo faithful regarding Vlad’s position in the line up, and my belief that he shouldn’t hit in the 4 spot. While I love Vlad, I vented, and insenuated that he is batting out of order and we as a team would be better served with someone, other than Vladdy in the 4 spot, and, unintentionally, left Brody, on his own to defend my opinion, I apologize to anybody that thought I was placing tonights loss on Vlad alone. Baseball is a team sport, win as a team, lose as a team, enough blame to go around. Of course, this could be the massive amounts of MGD and tequila I drank tonight. God I hate the doyers.
halofolife - June 20, 2009
I felt badly about it too
I didn’t mean to get into a nasty back and forth — I’m sorry to zu long and dmoney for how that played out. We are all Angels fans, and we should be able, as Obama says, to disagree without being disagreeable….
That said, I do think that some players get unnecessarily criticized routinely (Aybar in particular), while others can almost do no wrong.
Brody - June 21, 2009
Like Jeff Mathis. If he played any other position he would be long gone probably.
44FAN - June 21, 2009
What pissed the hell out of me was that the Doyer fans were louder than the Angels fans.
Hell, they were louder than the friggin Sux fans were during the playoffs.
red floyd - June 20, 2009
Very true
I was at the game Friday, and what upset me the the most was how passive we are, were at home, in our house, and were going to let dodger fan be obnoxious and disrespectful? Whats up with that? I’ve been to the Ravine (Latrine) numerous times, but I always exercise etiquette and decorum, but those thugs and hooligans, that portray themselves as doyer fans, are over the top. What I found very interesting was the fact that once dodger fan realized they were gonna lose, they became silent, and left almost instantaneously. The best thing about Fridays game, were the few doyer fans, left in attendance, after yelling and screaming “Angels suck” for almost the entire game couldn’t deal with the chant "Who Sucks Now?!?!
halofolife - June 20, 2009
Yeah. Classy.
You don’t go into someone’s house and shout “You suck”. Go ahead and cheer for your team… But show some [CENSORED] class.
Also, have you noticed that the only time that we have to deal with stupid-ass beach balls on the field is when the Doyers are visiting?
Some fans in the P23x sections started yelling “Leave your toys at home”.
