Up next for Angels: Wednesday at San Francisco - Los Angeles Times

Rookie pitcher gives Angels a big bailout - Los Angeles Times
Mixing a sharp-breaking curve with his 93-mph fastball early in the game and adding a floater of a 76-mph changeup in the later innings, the 21-year-old from El Cajon struck out five and walked one in a masterful major league debut.

What caused Angels’ latest turnaround? - Angels blog - OCRegister.com
Was the manager’s tirade the answer? Or was it just crappy pitching?

ShysterBall - The Rangers Downsize
Just the latest consequence of Tom Hicks' disastrous, debt-heavy business plan for the Rangers, which has been haunting them for several months now.

Makes you appreciate Arte Moreno a little bit more, doesn't it?

Padres Can Deal Relievers - FOX Sports on MSN
And since Towers has once again fashioned a workable bullpen from disparate parts, he might be able to flip relievers for prospects.

Buried within this article is a mention about the Padres' pitching depth.

He’s a witch! - Angels blog - OCRegister.com
You can all thank Quinlan’s Goofy Swing, who said after the Friday victory over San Diego: "This is the beginning of a 5 game win streak btw."

Halos Heaven frequent commenter getting some love from the OC Register.

Rick Vaughn Bobblehead Night in Cleveland = Best Thing Ever
Rick Vaughn is a folk hero of sorts for anyone who cared about baseball for any amount of time in the 1980s. Charlie Sheen’s character in Major League, known affectionately as "Wild Thing," came out of prison to serve as the catalyst for the Indians’ rise out of mediocrity.

I want one!

Angels learning a lot from Abreu - angelsbaseball.com: News
With his cool, soothing manner and totally professional style on the field, Abreu has become a magnet for teammates, and not just those of Latino heritage.

Kind of an old article, but still interesting.

Random observations:

Looks like we got us a bunch o’ young’uns here. Darned 20-somethings and their darned iPhones… GET OFF OF MY LAWN!!!!

If Quinlan’s Goofy Swing is a witch, does that mean he weighs as much as a scareduck?

Rick Vaughn:

Umpire: [after hitting Coleman] You’re out of here rookie.
Josh Beckett: I’m out?
Umpire: Yes you are!
Josh Beckett: Hey, c’mon. That’s an accident!
Umpire: You threw at him intentionally!
Josh Beckett: Oh, kiss my ass!
Umpire: You’re gone.
Josh Beckett: You’re full of shit! Fuck you!
Umpire: Get outta here rookie.
Josh Beckett: Oh! Why don’t you blow me ump!

Missing line — Ump: Oh yeah, you pitch for Boston. Never mind.

Quinlan's Goofy Swing turned me into a newt

…………..I got better

Major League is the best baseball movie ever

yeh yeah yeah…I know. The Natural, Eight Men Out, Bang the Drum Slowly, The Sandlot, Bull Durham, Air Bud 7th Inning Fetch, etc etc etc. Whatever. Major League is more entertaining than any of them

Hmmmmm, I’m not sure that entertaining is synonymous with best, though. I think Something About Mary may be the most entertaining movie I’ve ever seen, but I’d keep it a tier below Full Metal Jacket and Badlands and Taxi Driver and Schindler’s List and such. On the other hand, when we get past entertaining and start requiring gravity, we open the door for our rankings to be pretentious and self-aware. So you may be right!

I go by which movie would I be cool with seeing over and over on a loop for 24 hours

and Major League wins that contest

"bring that shit to me man"

si si pedro

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The BEST baseball EVER is ’Field of Dreams". The BEST EVER EVER EVER!!!

(You’re killing man…KILLING me…)

you're killing ME, Smalls.
love that quote

The Sandlot and Major League are the best ones. EVER- no Field of Dreams didn’t “captivate” me too much….

I probably use that line in real life at least once a week.
Apologies. I concede...

Major League…is the 5th best baseball movie ever.

I go by rarity

These two have never looked so good together

weak singles and 40 pitch walks, it’s beautiful

No No No No NO!

A Red Dawn Rises is ten-times cooler than all other movies combined

"The Natural" sucks. Ridiculous fucking suckage.

(That culled out of me the first f-bomb in about a year.)

Abreu

They said the same thing about Tex……….

It has to be a good day when Mike Napoli has the lead photo and video in

WiHaloFan’s Roundup.

Age Poll

Not to be nitpicking, but shouldn’t it be 18 and under or 18-29? The current poll has it to where someone 18 really can’t pick.

Its not nitpicking, you're just pointing out how stupid I am.

Who do you think you are, my wife??

isn't it past your bed time??
hey we are big boys now

i get to stay up as late as i want
(unless my mom tells me otherwise)

Get off of my lawn, you darned kid!

Rassum fassum mumble grumble… darned kids today… no respect… Why back in my day… what was I sayin’ agin?

...I think it was sometning about your Poligrip getting stuck to your hearing aid.
Don't forget to shake your fist.

That’s truly a lost art; vigorous fist shaking.

Kids today and their damn music. Why do they pronouce it “rap”? Is the ‘c’ silent?
