If a thousand people pay to get into the Oakland Alameda Colisseum tonight, first off, I will be surprised. Second, unlike Charter Television customers, they will get to see the baseball game where the Angels will send Shane Loux against Dallas Braden and the Oakland Athletics. Loux, Anthony Ortega and Matt Palmer have an expiration date appearing on them called Moseley-Santana-Lackey. So let's hope Shane keeps our memories of him as pleasant as possible.

Ever notice how crazy some sports radio callers are?
I’ve listened to only 830 am in my car the past few weeks, mostly because right now the radio is the only thing that is working. I had rarely ever listened to sports talk shows before, so it’s still somewhat surprising to me the amount of weird or crazy ass people that call in. Bunch of rabid fans out there, that’s for sure. Either they’re going crazy and tangential or they sound like a 95 year old on their last breath. Entertaining stuff.I will say however that it’s mostly the people calling in at night that are kinda looney…not so much drive time.

Agreed with Wood, I would like to see a discussion of him in the context
of our slow outfielders. Putting Wood at third-base, and putting Figgy in the outfield might help both offensively and defensively.

Here's a topic for you...
For many years now the Gospel of St Mike has been speed, defense, first-to-third and a while-chicks-might-dig-the-long-ball, hitters bow in awe before a mightly arm. This year, in the post-steroid era, the game has changed – it’s not about sitting and waiting for a pitch to crush, speed and defense are everything.
How does this play for the Angels, ahead of our time but left behind as other teams have become younger and faster or masters of the new(/old) ball?
