In a game that saw the Angels worst reliever, Justin Speier, put in the best pitching performance of the night, it figures blowing a 6 run lead would happen after Speier’s first hint of success on the mound in almost a year. Rafael Rodriguez (wearing Esteban Yan's jersey #59 and pitching like him), Jose Arredondo, Scot Shields and the Queen of Pain Jason Bulger, combined to give up 9 runs in 3 innings after Speier had shut down the Twins over two innings for an injured Dustin Moseley.
Let’s look at the bright side, though. My girlfriend made me a great dinner. It was awesome eating a delicious filet of sole with butter and lemon, cooked carrots and brown rice.
Nice when the team made me puke it all up that it pretty much landed in one spot on the carpet with very little splatter.

there is no where to fall back on. pitching? the bullpen is a joke. there is literally no one mike can put out there that is a sure thing. the offense blows and apparently are planning to make their living on singles and the defense leads the league in errors and have made come plays this year that are hilariously pathetic.

Three of the top four starters on the DL, with only the HOPE that two will be back soon. And a team with no ability to hit for extra bases just lost it’s only power hitter for over a month.
That, in conjunction with crippling contracts, and very little major league ready talent outside of two middle infielders, plus the improvement shown by the rest of the division tells me that they aren’t going to be in the playoffs for a LONNNNNNGGGG time.

That is TWICE that he takes out Arredondo who has been good the inning before then gives up a hit and a walk and out comes Scioscia to put in piece of shit Sheilds to blow the game wide open. Arredondo would have gotten out of that inning with at least a 3 run lead, and maybe would not have given up a run.

Everyone it has been pointed out earlier that we started 6-14 in 02. 6-14! we need to calm down. weve just gone through the best stretch in angels baseball history in the past few years, and with one little bad start, everybody panics. we’ll get it together. I believe that jepsen is going to emerge and someguy (i dont know who) will come up from AAA and be a solid 5th starter.

I really don’t pay much attention to slow starts but this one scares me. Without any depth in our starting pitching due to injuries and our pen looking just god awful, we may have a huge hole to climb out of by the time our horses come back. BOTG- Soth/ Esteban Shields (yes Shields has become that bad lately)

This team has been really good for quite some time now. I expect Wood to get called up soon enough and tear it up. You should have Lackey, Escobar, and Santana back by the break and then forget about it. Do you really think the M’s are going to keep it up? A’s? Rangers? No, of course not. Once the pitching is back all the Angels have to do is win 88+ and they should lock it up no problem. Just think of what the AL west is going to look like in July. No matter how bad it gets IN APRIL just remember who the Angels have to worry about. Keep your heads up. This is a proud organization. And if they can get Peavy or Halladay…
P.S. I know I’m a cholo doyers fan, but I have always liked the Angels as well. Still do. (MidwayCityLivestock is my best friend too)

They have done nothing but do everything they can to ruin Dodger Stadium for the last, oh I don’t know, 10 years? I grew up in echo park just walking distance from Dodger Stadium and from what I can remember, the cholos never even cared about the Dodgers until some strange sea change occured. My Mom married a rich guy in 1992 and we moved to Newport Beach so I started going to Angel games. I have never bought into the “rivalry” between the two teams, and I will never forget the humiliation the Angels poured onto the Giants in 2002. Seriously though, this team is far from done. So many trades to be done, so many suprising callups, the Angels have been here before. I kinda like the manager too.

I was living in Virginia in 2002 (in the Navy) and was thrilled when the Angels won it, and not just because it was the Giants. I was just glad they finally did it. When I got back home it’s some nasty rivalry and I just never understood it. I got an Angels mini plan in 2006 because I was living in Costa Mesa and had a blast until game 3 of the ALDS (god I hated Manny, how things change). I do wish they would change the name back to Anaheim or California or Orange County. Not because “we’re the real LA team”, but more as a tribute to the OC/IE fans that rooted for the Halos thorugh years of mediocrity until the glory. I live close enough now to have Dodger season tickets which is a dream come true. BTW if you want safe haven during the Dodgers/Halos series at the Ravine, pick section 14RS near row EE. Me and midway city livestock will be there at 14RS, row EE, seats 1 and 2.

What worries me is not Bulger (who has always been incompetent and I presume always will be) or Rodriguez, since they’ll get sent down as soon as a starter pulls through.
