If the Angels have to have Mosely, Loux and Adenhart in the opening rotation
are any of you guys tempted to see Shields in the rotation? I think Bulger and Thompson could replace Shields (w/ Arredondo being main setup guy) than Loux, Mose, and Adenhart can replace Lackey and Santana.
Ervin Santana is making excellent progress in his recovery from a collateral ligament sprain in his right elbow, Lewis Yocum, the Angels’ orthopedist, said on Saturday.
Whoo video feed!
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
Best part about the video feed...
…is that the Angels feed is being shown IN SEATTLE! I am watching this on FSNW and listening to HUD/PHYS…too damned funny!

Thanks!
K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
good to see even with the patient plate approach
the angels are still agressive on the basepaths
anaheim angels - March 28, 2009
what i liked seeing
was even though we’re taking a more patient approach, we’re not letting fat first pitches go. pretty sure Kmo hit the first pitch for his RBI single?
b0rd3rline - March 28, 2009
same with torii i believe
anaheim angels - March 28, 2009
Johnny Rivers RBI Single
Kmo thrown out at 3rd. Good Guys up 2-1 now..

How do Silva's pitches look? Velocity? Movement?
Fan Since 1981 - March 28, 2009
Still doesn't have any of either.
Just like every other year. :-P
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
He's only starting year 2 of a 4-year deal that's paying him $48 million
I’m curious if he’s getting worse as a pitcher.
Fan Since 1981 - March 28, 2009
Looks like he lost about 30 lbs since last season!
maybe more…he was FAT last season!
K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
Worse? Shoot he can stay the same for all I care.
6.46 ERA last season.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
I'm sure you can go to Lookout Landing and get a complete analysis after the game.

b0rd3rline - March 28, 2009
Bases juiced for Torii Hunter.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
Has Hud or Phyz provided any updates on Lackey?
Lackey is supposed to review the MRI results with Dr. Yocum today. WIth the way things are going, I’m expecting the conversation to go like this:
Lackey: “So how does it look, Doc?”
Yocum: “Your right arm is missing.”
Fan Since 1981 - March 28, 2009
He is walking around in the dugout today, so at least he can walk.

Rev Halofan - March 28, 2009
Nope.

Zu Long - March 28, 2009
Have you seen the prices this year?
Opening day in the LF Pavilion is $21!
The prices vary by opponent, day of week, and promotion.
K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
plus $5.50 convenience fee...
K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
not if

I know I bought LESS seats this year, but Opening Day, couldn’t keep me away from that. And that’s exactly where I bought 4 seats for Opening Night.
MH252525 - March 28, 2009
I bought 4 TODAY online for Opening Day in the LF Pavilion

Zu Long - March 28, 2009

Pitching change coming up. It’s Morales on second with 1 out.

Was it one of those unintentional-intentional walks (i.e. pitching around him)
Or did JR show good plate discipline?
Fan Since 1981 - March 28, 2009
4 straight ball way out of the zone.
That one was just Miguel Batista sucking.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
Like Silva, I was wondering about Batista.
In that he was bad in 2008, but could he get worse in 2009?
Fan Since 1981 - March 28, 2009
It'd be hard to get worse.
But most likely he’ll be coming from the pen in 2009.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
i think batista could be useful
as a beanball specialist..
..on second thought, he doesn’t have the command to hit anybody..
b0rd3rline - March 28, 2009
it was like
this guy on the mound is insanely wild, and almost hit JR twice.. lol.

Fan Since 1981 - March 28, 2009
Probably even earlier.
Mid-April is possible if there’s nothing structurally wrong.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009

That’s pretty good.

BryanHarvey'sMoustache - March 28, 2009

Zu Long - March 28, 2009
small aybar going after the catcher?
i dunno if a that would be a good idea for a guy his size
BryanHarvey'sMoustache - March 28, 2009

K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
He also doesn't have Dunn's noodle arm.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
He's had a pretty accurate, powerful arm from what I've seen.
Hasn’t really had his range tested yet.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
were you watching when he threw that lollipop over the cutoff man to the plate from shallow LF?
I was unimpressed! :(
K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
He one-hopped 2nd from the left field corner on the money the other day.
That’s pretty good, IMO.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
maybe the ball slipped or something on the throw I saw…?!
K3YEROUT - March 28, 2009
Maybe.
There was the throw today where he nailed Aybar on a relay throw as well. I think he’s got a pretty decent arm.
Zu Long - March 28, 2009
Range will be important.
He’s going from covering a short right field in Yankee stadium to a fairly expansive LF in Angel Stadium.
