Morales, 1B

Torii is back in CF after his quick recovery from a collision with the outfield wall. Another interesting thing is that GMJ is starting in RF instead of Rivera. Looking at this lineup, i’d saying everything but the bottom 3 would be our lineup during the season (w/ Rivera, Napoli, and Wood/Aybar instead)..
Last year PMR ranked him as the 4th best defensive shortstop in MLB (out of 39, minimum 1000 balls in play). Izzy also posts decent OBPs and could even be suited as a #2 hitter.
that pitch Torii watched for strike 3 was right where the other pitch was that he hit out and my computer was going to slow so i kept clicking post until it posted haha
Calling the Angels Outfield, calling the Angels outfield,
would you please report to the playing field. You have missed the last 3 plays and in your place we are playing 3 scrubs with poor hand-eye coordination.
BOBBY ABREU (1) OFF SCOTT LEWIS IN THE 3RD
VLADIMIR GUERRERO (1) OFF SCOTT LEWIS IN THE 3RD
TORII HUNTER (1) OFF SCOTT LEWIS IN THE 3RD
TORII HUNTER (2) OFF EDWARD MUJICA IN THE 7TH
Double digit run games are great, but it is a relief to see the big dogs finally starting to show up to play.
1986, 2004, 2007, and 2008. Serious playoff pain at the hands of the Chowds. So, sure, we can sweep the regular season series, but bring me some playoff sweeps on their account this time!!!!!
adenhart looked outstanding after his nerves calmed and he could throw strikes. Torii was crushing. morales looked bad defensively, abreu looked out of place in left and the defense was pretty bad overall partly because of the wind but just as much because of bad infield work.
overall though a good performance against a pretty bad indians team
On MLB Network today.

ReggieBullits - March 26, 2009

TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Boy, Morales stands way off the plate compared to a lot of batters.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Swung at ball 4, Kendry.
Still, we rung his bell in the 1st inning, not a bad start.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Nick missing his first 4 pitches, maybe the top of the 1st went on too long.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Not helping that the ump is giving Adenhart zero corners.

Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
hopefully some prospects for him
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
You know, even if he plays for us, there's always the possibility that he might actually be
a decent player for us.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
slight possibility
but not enough to justify that contract
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Oh yeah, the contract is worthless.
I just feel like people shouldn’t resign themselves to him being horrible again this year. There’s a pretty good chance he won’t be.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
well there is a slight possibility that i could sleep with a super model
but im not holding out hope on it given that i havent slept with one yet
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
In this case, I think the chances are better than a slight possibility.

Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
I always forget how smooth Izzy's gun is.
I will never understand why someone has not traded us for this guy.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
I hope the Angels keep Izzy
Last year PMR ranked him as the 4th best defensive shortstop in MLB (out of 39, minimum 1000 balls in play). Izzy also posts decent OBPs and could even be suited as a #2 hitter.

He got slap-happy for so long, then remembered that he’s supposed to hit triples….
mattwelch - March 26, 2009
contract year
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
If he has another 2007, I could care less that he's doing it for the payday.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
right we benefit even if he is "playing for a contract"
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
we dont need him anyway we have Wood
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
We still need him to lead off.
And while I think the world of Wood, he is not, by any means, a sure thing.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
well if we arent going to have wood up in the bigs
we might as well get all we can out of figgy
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009

Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Jeff 2 for 2 on a much better hit.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Mathis is playing great
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
The next time Torii gets into a hitting funk
we should have somebody hit him in the face with a ball.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
That was actually quite funny.
V-Hawk Angelorum - March 26, 2009
Allegedly GMJ paid off the wall to put a hit on Torii, but it didn't work. ;)

and downloading the program to listen to angels baseball online ;p
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
8 of those are the KC game.
But 10 in the other four is still nice.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Hey, if thats what it takes to get the bats hot I say we play at surprise more often.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
The hilarious part is that I think none of our starters today were even playing in that one.
Maybe they felt like they got shown up though.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Figgy walks.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Figgs with another full count.
I likes it. Walks, bases chucked for HK.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
come on Howie clutch double right here
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
or a ground out to SS same thing
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
lately we've had some great 2 out at bats!
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Good, keep that patience Howie.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Chopper to SS.
Not what we were hoping for. Oh well. I’ll take 3 runs.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Low and away gets Howie again, weak grounder. Yurg.
Can’t complain about the 3 runs even if we have left 6 men stranded, 5 in scoring position.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
At least he made contact.
I’d have preferred it if he’d gone after that 2-0 pitch, but ah well.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Yep. He looks like he is taking a strike because he is supposed to...
then freed up to swing at whatever comes his way…
jimmuscomp - March 26, 2009
come on Nick 1-2-3
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Nice dig Kendry. 1 out.

Nick cruising.

1-2-3, beautiful, Nick. Keep 'em coming.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
i think we are watching are #5 starter
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
If Nick can do this in the regular season? Oh Yeah.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Although if Kelvim gets healthy and pitches the way he did in 04-07, he'll have to move to #6.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009

So you’ll see a lot of them from him.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Bobby walks.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Abreu walks.
Is he starting to grow on anyone else, or is it just me?
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Not you.
Though I’m sure his fielding’s gonna hurt a little.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
i think he is besides noes to toes Guerrero

TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Hot smash from Vlad a sure DP till the SS dropped the ball.
1 out, 1 on.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Wah wah waaaaaah.
Near DP, but the Indians SS boots it.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Can't take that pitch, Torii.
Lets go, Kendry. Got bust that 0-fer.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Torii just hit that pitch out of the park

Torii just hit that pitch out of the park
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
...uh, what?
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
he must be a couple of innings/games ahead of us
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
What?
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
i was saying
that pitch Torii watched for strike 3 was right where the other pitch was that he hit out and my computer was going to slow so i kept clicking post until it posted haha
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Kendry's 2nd K of the afternoon. No runs this inning.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
ECHO! Echo! Echo...
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
strike out the side right here
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Pronk with a leadoff 2B.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Dang
shift
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Nuts. Leadoff double.
Nice throw by Abreu though. 1 hopped second base from the left field corner.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
bad jump by bobby
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
never mind
the SHIFT
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
That is
exactly where Kendry is going to hurt us
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Oh come on.
He’s played more games than anyone else this spring and that’s the first error he’s made.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
How many E's does he have thus far in ST?
I also heard that Scioscia is touting KM as having the skills to compete for a gold glove.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
I think you'll find I hinted at the answer in the comment above yours. ;-)
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
oops...
asleep at the wheel! I had meant to reply to angelskid2210 and got click happy. ;)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Not Kotchman.

Teixeira woulda had it to
man do i hate that name

wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
nice.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
im afraid that hardly anyone will know what im talking about tho...
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
1 down.
Need a pop or a K.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Walked him.
Keep it together Nick.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Walk puts men at the corners. Ease up, Nick, and get the DP.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Nuts. If Aybar hangs on to that the run doesn't score.
Good job to knock it down and get the out though.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Er, did I say Aybar?
Meant Izzy.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
come on D
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Uh, so missed lineout by Izzy gets the indians a run, but we still get an out on a
force, then the next pitch is a pitchout where Jeff guns the runner down. 5-2 Halos.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
those 2 runs are unearned right
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
1 is, the other is earned.
That leadoff double is almost certainly a run in any situation.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
but he scored on Kendrys error
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
But he'd have scored anyway later in the inning.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Start us off, Juice.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Juice Ks.
Way to make me look bad after defending you earlier.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Look on the brightside. If he keeps hitting this way, Juan's the starter.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
how much brighter is that...
how about Woody gets to DH and Juan sits on his ass.
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Hey, don't be hating on Rivera.
Dudes served his time and deserves a real shot.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
ya he needs to repeat 06
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
it just goes to show he doesnt want me to sleep with a super model
or that he doesnt want/deserve playing time
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Thats
the GMJ i know. 0-3 must have forgot his HGH this morning.
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
he needs to hit up A-Roid and see what hes taking
oh ya A-Roid doesn’t know because it was a “lucy guccy era”
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
About now I'm betting A-Rod's on painkillers for that injury thats gonna mean he misses 2 months
atleast.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Kobayashi with a nice innings.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
i thought
kobayashi was a professional hotdog eater? lol.
1st 1-2-3 inning for the angels offense..
b0rd3rline - March 26, 2009
hshs thats all that the radio guys talked about
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
They can't score 17 runs EVERY time. :-P
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
they can't?
damn, i was hoping we’d average 15 rpg during the regular season..
b0rd3rline - March 26, 2009
Now hold on
Game Ain’t Over Yet.
Jay Cal - March 26, 2009
Still holdin' out for a 5th straight game of double digits myself.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Yeah
Yesterday I said 20-5… I’ll stick with that.
Jay Cal - March 26, 2009
Actually, he's a test for Starfleet officers
[/GEEK]
red floyd - March 26, 2009
that was strike 3 come on blue
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Nick doesn't seem to be getting the love from the ump much.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Or maybe not, Ks the last out lookin'.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Well, if he'd called THAT a ball
MLB would be forced to order him to get new contacts.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
at least terry is paying attention
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
FROZEN.
Sit down.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Adenhart is pitching great
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Figgy Ks.
Kobayashi is mowing us down.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
we only have 1 error was Izturis miss not an error
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Nope. He still got an out.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Figgs down on strikes, 7 so far today for us.
Kinda goes with the patience thing.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
HK out on FPS.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
nice patience Bobby
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Bobby caught chasing. Kobayashi has made us look like chumps these last 2 innings.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Abreu K's.
I think that Lewis managed to ruin our hitters collective batting eye. Most guys don’t serve them up that way fellas. :-P
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Thanks for getting my blood pressure up on a routine play, Gary.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
GMJ is supposed to have good D right???
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Adenhart
still nails.
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Nice read on that ball Gary.
That wasn’t scary or anything. Really.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
our outfield
is lookin good!
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Not the easiest conditions, but yeah.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
damn wind
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
effing wind!
bloop hit
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
haha
now its getting out of hand
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
come on arte
build us a dome!
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
we are at the Indians field
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Porto-dome?
bring it witchu on the road.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
The wind must be doing something crazy to the balls.
Guess that’s why the Indians had problems with Mathis’ hit earlier.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Torii's 2nd error this spring
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
bad call but ruled a double
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
check that...
your right
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
That'll be called back.
It hit his glove. No way is that a hit.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
right terry just announced they changed the call
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
WOW
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Okay, that was just laziness on Torii's part.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
WTF???
chairmanofthebar - March 26, 2009
Bench Torri
Put in Rivera in LF, GMJ you got the start.
Just kidding
Jay Cal - March 26, 2009
Calling the Angels Outfield, calling the Angels outfield,
would you please report to the playing field. You have missed the last 3 plays and in your place we are playing 3 scrubs with poor hand-eye coordination.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
time to go to the bullpen
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Nah, Nick's got it.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Ugh, off the end of the bat scores both.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
That was
Sexy!
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
5-4, on 2 plays that you cannot blame Nick for this.
And NICK TAKIN MATTERS INTO HIS OWN HANDS! YEAH!
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
literally
he can change the world, with his own two hands.
Jay Cal - March 26, 2009
It says he's given up 2 earned runs, but the truth is if the Angels gloves are doing what they should
it’s probably still a shutout.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
"Applause"
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
come on nick keep it together
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Out of it.
1 more ER, 1 more unearned run for Nick.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
phew!
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
time to put some runs on the board!
here’s to a big inning
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
OK bats, time to wake back up and get Nick some help.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Naps in for Vlad.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Time for a Power Nap!
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
maybe after the game....oh... yeah go NAPS
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
;)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Naps is gonna suit up
tomorrow behind the dish!
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
I hope he suits up in the locker room.
;)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
haha
you crack me up
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Ouch. Another K.
Nine on the game now.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Ugh. Mike watches a plump fastball down the middle. >_<
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Torii, what the **** are you swingin at?
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Kobayashi downing Angel hitters like he does hot dogs
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Muhica now, not that it's makin' a difference.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
oh i thought his name was bohica
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
The last of the Muhicans?
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Baaaarf.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Spelled with a J.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Juhica?
not another anti-semitic thread, please.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
i think terry reads this blog during the game!
he commented on the spelling right after your post
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Kobayashi is out.
New pitcher this inning.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Woot!
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
TORII GOES DEEP AGAIN!
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
HUNTER AGAIN! 6-4!
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Maybe
Torri should run into the wall all the time
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Good one! ;)
I also think “Optimist’s” non-optimistic grumpiness was well-timed as well! :)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Hey, I said that after he swung at a ball around his head.
And he listened. :P
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Precisement. Plugging the upside with well-timed non-optimistic grumpiness.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
I think maybe he just felt like he owed Nick some insurance after bungling that catch.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Torii Torii Torii
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Hula Dula!
SoCalWine - March 26, 2009
Maybe we should
tell him that the ball is a domino?
red floyd - March 26, 2009
Morales best try of the day by far, still 0-4 though.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Comedy from Juice. Way to freeze.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
If it's a strike anyway
it doesn’t matter if you swung at it or not.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Fuentes coming in.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
ohhhh nooooo
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
GREAT game GMJ still think you deserve a starting spot???
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
We get it… you don’t like him. Tomorrow, you will likely see Rivera go 0 – 4 with an error as well.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
but i like him so it will be ok :)
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
:)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
An important appearance for Fuentes
His velocity has been off this spring.
Fan Since 1981 - March 26, 2009
Everything has been off for Fuentes.
Should have kept Frankie.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
lets go Fuentes
time to show us something
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Julio Perez???
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
also Castillo??
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Smith??? i have not heard of one of those guys
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Mass changes as Izzy moves to 3rd and every other position changes.
Q and Aybar about the only recognizable names among the newcomers.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Well,
I recognize them… >_>
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
You and FA are about the only ones who would.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
rghan would probably do okay.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
thanks for the update
apparently these changes are not important to mention for terry
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Nice catch Castillo.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Nice catch by Castillo, though he took a horrible route to that ball.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Wind again.
If it fooled a gold glover like Torii, the rookie-baller isn’t gonna pick up on it right away.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Guess you're right as yet another ball nearly throws us for a loop.
But Fuentes with a 1-2-3 inning, good to see.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Still throwing 89 though.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
1-2-3 for Fuentes
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Frankie who?
;)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Nice try
Budde
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Izzy 0-4, not making the greatest case for himself after what Wood and Aybar have
been doing.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
nice knock Aybar
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Speaking of Erick, a solid knock puts him on 1st.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Two people mentioning "knock" in a row...
is Hudler on the broadcast team today? ;) He’s the biggest user of that term.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
No Joy for Q, though. Inning over.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
i wish Brown would make the team over Q oh well maybe next year
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Man Aybar's arm is crazy.
Had trouble getting the ball out of his glove and it didn’t make a bit of difference.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
we should make Aybar a pitcher and start Wood at SS
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Nice pitch, Jason. Froze him.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Nice to see this in the box score:
BOBBY ABREU (1) OFF SCOTT LEWIS IN THE 3RD
VLADIMIR GUERRERO (1) OFF SCOTT LEWIS IN THE 3RD
TORII HUNTER (1) OFF SCOTT LEWIS IN THE 3RD
TORII HUNTER (2) OFF EDWARD MUJICA IN THE 7TH
Double digit run games are great, but it is a relief to see the big dogs finally starting to show up to play.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Having trouble locating the curve.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
There we go!
K’d.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Nice inning for Bulger.
A little insurance wouldn’t go amiss, Halos.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Apparently the only difference between David Ortiz and some random fat guy is
the Boston cap on his head. Sounds right.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Nice.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Way to go, Naps!
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Naps with the base hit.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
"theres a fly ball hit to right errrr a shot straight up the middle"- way to go terry!
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Demetrius Washington huh?
Now THAT would be a hard one to pick out if you weren’t paying attention last year. But I can still place him. :-P
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
and hes wearing Howie's jersey
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
why is Julio Perez wearing Jepsen's jursey
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Cost-cutter...
use the same jersey twice in one game for different players. :)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
Indians guys have a point, the schedulers didn't do us many favors out of the gate.
Oakland and Boston for 7 to start us off.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Bring 'em on.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
we should thank the schedulers we are goin to start off 7-0
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Great optimism! I was hoping for 3W-4L at best … but now you got me pumped!
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
i see were you messed up it will be 4 losses for the a's and
the red sux will have 3 win before we play them and they will still have only have 3 after we play them
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
1986, 2004, 2007, and 2008. Serious playoff pain at the hands of the Chowds. So, sure, we can sweep the regular season series, but bring me some playoff sweeps on their account this time!!!!!
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
ya playoff sweeps are kinda cool to
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Screw em
we gotta play them plenty of times
angelskid2210 - March 26, 2009
Should have been a balk anyway.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Whoops. Indians having some trouble fielding too.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Perez walks, corners with 1 out for Castillo.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Julio with the walk.
1st and 3rd, one out.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
1st and 3rd with 1 out!
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Prediction: Either a strikeout or an extra base hit.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
And wrong.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
he was safe!!!!!!
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
was it that close?
im listening to the game not watching
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Pretty close.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
did mike come out and argue the call?
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
No.
Not worth it.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Maybe he was watching live
instead of on his big screen from Howards
red floyd - March 26, 2009
He’d have to set down the plate of Rigatoni to do that… and I don’t see that happening.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
XD
hahaha nice
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
no it wasnt close he was safe by a mile
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
That’s nearly 59 bases!
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
how could they miss that call then
:p
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Lets go lil' Papi, get us some insurance.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Miguel Tejada gets community service for lying to Congress.
No wonder no one respects them.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Wil Ortiz singles!
7-4 Halos!
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Ortiz! 7-4!
Corners for Izzy
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Erm, make that Budde.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
NICE! 8-4 on the single from Budde Christ!
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Budde Christ!
8-4! We’ll make 20 runs yet!
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
that a kid budde
8-4
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
NOW it's Izzy. Can't get shown up by the kids, man.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Not all his fault.
He torched the ball his first AB, the CF just barely got it. His second AB was actually a pretty solid ground ball, though they called it an error.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
"Pack of Hyenas"
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
UFO???
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Apparently they haven't seen many clouds recently.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Does that explain the “other-worldly” GMJ we’ve seen recently? Did they return the rightful GMJ today?
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
unfortunately they did
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Dang.
Another one where he made solid contact but right at someone.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Izzy with an 0-5, and at this point he may be losing that starter battle.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
I think he gets partial credit for the solid contact, though!
;)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
yes he does 0-4 3/4
the other 1/4 is solid contact
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
As awesome as this game has been I may have to get going here.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
As awesome as this game has been, I may have to start actually working now. (Prairie dogs the cubicle … nobody coming … back to the game).
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
if anyone asks just say your making "cold calls" via an internet blog
;p
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Fortunately, the boss is a BIG halos fan, so he expects my “summary” on the Halo’s daily activities right before we leave for the day.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
I am very jealous.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Carlos Colmenares?
Man these guys just keep getting more obscure. But I still got him.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
Whoa!
Are you like Morganna the Kissing Bandit (re: But I still got him)? ;)
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
The baseball players I know.
Your unidentified reference has me stumped.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morganna
is that what you meant?
Hmmm. I thought she had run onto the field in Anaheim once, too. Didn’t see it on the list.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
screw the wind
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
man the wind is making this game a comedy!
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Easy kid, no big deal. Just pitch.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
Dayum.
That ump is gigantic.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
is that Shaq no hes white must be Yao
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
Kotch
turns two. >_>
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
1 down.
Zu Long - March 26, 2009
2nd and 3rd 1 out
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
8-5, but at this point we can trade runs for outs. 2 down.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
is this guy K-Rod
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
K'd lookin', sure enough. :P
Light up the cactii! 21-4-1!
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
This is an amazing spring run...
wow.
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
the SLC'ers should be used to it
SoCalWine - March 26, 2009
Light Up
the Saguaro!
jjackflash - March 26, 2009
Also, Nick gave up only 1 ER, it turns out.
TheOptimist - March 26, 2009
light up the HALO!!!!!!!
8-5 nice win guys
wallispdub1 - March 26, 2009
Just another Halo ST victory !!!!!
21 and 4, lets hope it carries over to the regular season!!!!!!!!
halofolife - March 26, 2009
just got back from this game
adenhart looked outstanding after his nerves calmed and he could throw strikes. Torii was crushing. morales looked bad defensively, abreu looked out of place in left and the defense was pretty bad overall partly because of the wind but just as much because of bad infield work.
overall though a good performance against a pretty bad indians team
ihearhowie2.0 - March 26, 2009
you live 5 minutes from the stadium
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
or his hotel/RV/bush/ditch is 5 minutes from the stadium
Downing Rules - March 26, 2009
true he could live in a bush or ditch but how could he get on the internet
Vladd#27 - March 26, 2009
PCS card
SoCalWine - March 26, 2009
There's free wifi available nearly everywhere man...
