Enjoy the game...and so long.
I just wanted to drop back in really quick to say thanks and goodbye to some blog members.
I only interacted on this blog for a few months, but I really appreciated many of the excellent insights and comments. Kaplan, linksbruin, Suboptimal, (and one of the howie’s…can’t remember which) in particular…just excellent stuff. Thanks for the conversations!
I really don’t think there is another Angels blog out there to compare to this one. The level of knowledge and discourse here is without parallel. There are a few people who think they know it all and a few who treat others with disrespect, but you expect that in any blog. For the most part, I’ve found a high level of respect here. Sadly, the same cannot be said of the head honcho and that’s why I’ve curtailed my activity. I just refuse to be treated like a jerk.
I know the Rev feels I’ll just use another account to comment here, but that’s not my plan. My son has an account which I set up for him, but he hasn’t used it yet and I think he’s forgotten about it already anyway. Besides, he’s only 12 and gets all his good stuff from me. I’ll check in from time to time and read up on my favorite posters.
Good luck to you all, and good luck to the Angels in 2009.
Feel free to rip me up at your leisure. Some of you were going to anyway. Heh.
9 fanposts at an average of 50 comments each. You certainly offer better fanposts than I do… at least ones that generate good conversation. I suggest you stick around and grow a thicker skin to some of the negative comments. I developed thicker skin real quick via internet blogs.
or are we holding off our regulars more than usual? maybe my memory is deceiving me, but it seems like we had at least a few more starters playing at this point last season
And I just kinda picked up the passion. Ive been to a couple games in my life including the game this past year where KROD blew a save against the Orioles and Figgins won it in the 9th with a walk off walk.
I grew up in LA. My Dad was passionate about baseball.
His first passion was hatred for the Dodgers (I didn’t inherit that gene). His second passion – once they came into existence – was the MLB Angels (he had loved watching the AAA LA Angels before that. Soem of my earliest baseball memories are of attending Angel games…at Dodger Stadium!
You're right. I just went back and read the artilce.
Crosby will either be a utility back-up or he will be traded. I also didn’t realize they had placed him on unrestricted waivers in their attempt to sign Furcal.

or are we holding off our regulars more than usual? maybe my memory is deceiving me, but it seems like we had at least a few more starters playing at this point last season
ihearhowie2.0 - March 2, 2009

Spring training is extra long this year, no point in starting the guys up too early.

acuda27 - March 2, 2009
Looks like no audio today
The KLAA Gameday Audio link is just transmitting what’s currently live on KLAA, instead of the actual game. Lame.
foxpaw - March 2, 2009
well, it officially starts at 12:10... so we'll see
stuck in Romania - March 2, 2009

SMUangelFan - March 2, 2009
What the hell!!!
Are you live-blogging from the game? Right now, I am getting KLAA news.
sothball - March 2, 2009
MLB.com text message package
Everytime a home-run is hit, or a lead change happens in the 7th inning or later, I get a text telling me. $3.99 a month, pretty good deal
SMUangelFan - March 2, 2009

acuda27 - March 2, 2009

sothball - March 2, 2009

angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
Where are you in Montana? I went to school at MSU in Bozeman.
sothball - March 2, 2009
Im actually in Havre, which is near the Canadien border
but I have a lot of friends who went to Bozeman for school
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
My first year roomates were from close to your home...they were from Saco and Hinsdale.
sothball - March 2, 2009
whoa that is crazy
I have a cousin that grew up in saco I went there many times as a kid. He had a friend named Patrick that went to Bozeman I think
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
For what it's worth, my room mates names were...
…Bruce Lamb (Saco) and Steve LaCock (no joke). I believe Steve is still in Hinsdale. Last I heard, Bruce had moved to Seattle.
This was in the late 70’s…
sothball - March 2, 2009
lol thats funny man
those are awesome names
The 70s eh? Im thinking a little bit more recent haha
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
How did you become an Angels fan?
sothball - March 2, 2009
Dad was a angels fan because of reggie jackson
And I just kinda picked up the passion. Ive been to a couple games in my life including the game this past year where KROD blew a save against the Orioles and Figgins won it in the 9th with a walk off walk.
How bout you?
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
I grew up in LA. My Dad was passionate about baseball.
His first passion was hatred for the Dodgers (I didn’t inherit that gene). His second passion – once they came into existence – was the MLB Angels (he had loved watching the AAA LA Angels before that. Soem of my earliest baseball memories are of attending Angel games…at Dodger Stadium!
sothball - March 2, 2009
haha thats great
Angels games at Dodger stadium! must have been weird
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
Not a lot of fans at the games in those early days...
sothball - March 2, 2009
i was at that krod blown save game
it was quakes appreciation night and i worked for them. i sat in a box seat with some of the front office brass. it was sick.
TheAngelsAngels - March 2, 2009

angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
Home Run Wood?!?!?
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009

101halo - March 2, 2009
Woodsy...

TheAngelsAngels - March 2, 2009
Thanks!
not as good as audio but it’s nice
DaBigKahuna - March 2, 2009
Two things
It’s the top of the fourth, and every Halo starter now has a hit. Awesome.
Both Wood and S-Rod are not flashing scary k rates (so far). Also awesome.
rghan - March 2, 2009
haha my bad...
SMUangelFan - March 2, 2009
Strokin'
Everyone’s got themselves a hit already…
SMUangelFan - March 2, 2009
gameday
has some kinks.
For me, it completely skipped the AB by Sean Rodriguez
jjackflash - March 2, 2009
MLB didn’t bring its A game today.
rghan - March 2, 2009
hahaha....this is borderline meta.
BryanHarvey'sMoustache - March 2, 2009
Anyone know who's pitching next?
rghan - March 2, 2009
Herndon
SoCalWine - March 2, 2009
S-Rod has 2 hits.........Trade Howie!!!! LOL just kidding
acuda27 - March 2, 2009
The Rockies are looking like the Mariners today.
44FAN - March 2, 2009
Making a statement in spring?
Downing Rules - March 2, 2009
So the Rocks will get a big ST win and celebrate it?
red floyd - March 2, 2009
B. Wood hits a single!!!
Didn’t know he had it in him.
Wytelitning - March 2, 2009
what about the home run?
did you know he had that in him?
BryanHarvey'sMoustache - March 2, 2009
Of course...
I just figured he thought singles were for pussies.
Wytelitning - March 2, 2009
kendry racking up the walks this year?
great news for his on base percentage. his lack of patience was a weakness.
TheAngelsAngels - March 2, 2009
Now it's 11-0. I hope we have lots of games like this during the regular season.
sothball - March 2, 2009
Looks more like what alot of Bees games will be this year
Wytelitning - March 2, 2009
The box score looks pretty sick right now...
Angels 11-15-1
Rockies 0- 1-2
sothball - March 2, 2009
Lackey pitched 6 innings?
1-hit ball?? Nice.
Higz - March 2, 2009
nevermind. I should learn to scroll down in Gameday.
Don’t mind me.
Higz - March 2, 2009
I just saw OC signed with Oakland.
Apparently he has settled for being a backup to Crosby?
sothball - March 2, 2009
I think it means...
they lost faith in Crosby due to health issues.
Wytelitning - March 2, 2009
You're right. I just went back and read the artilce.
Crosby will either be a utility back-up or he will be traded. I also didn’t realize they had placed him on unrestricted waivers in their attempt to sign Furcal.
sothball - March 2, 2009
Damn, we don't get to hear the 7th inning stretch DUI song.
44FAN - March 2, 2009
Woody has more jacks than Figgins has ABs
TRAAAAAAAAAAAADE CHONE
;-)
ihearhowie2.0 - March 2, 2009
Wow. Fernando Rodriguez got burned last inning, but he made up for it this inning!
7 pitches, including 2 strike-outs on 3 pitches!
sothball - March 2, 2009
...that should be 3 pitches each...
sothball - March 2, 2009
dang the angels are owning people this spring
very impressive
angelsown3417 - March 2, 2009
Salt Lake Bees are gonna be sick this year.
