but in his seasons where he shuffled from one spot to the next, he really struggled and made errors. He kind of has an incorrectly placed label of “bad defender,” but if you look at the errors made, they were usually made right after being shifted from 3rd to center from one game to the next. Kind of like trying to play a position without preparing … not too easy in the bigs.
Just seems to have the Angels number. He’s a guy with good stuff that gets in trouble at times when teams are selective, the Angels have never been super selective.
Also if 4 runs is a bad day then count me in, because the Angels will run away with the West again.
Our lineup, looks pretty close to 'A' team
only missing Abreu and Vladdy
3B Figgins
2B Kendrick
RF Matthews
CF Hunter
1B Morales
LF Rivera
DH Napoli
C Wilson
SS Aybar
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
and Napoli and Wood.
Rev Halofan - March 18, 2009
Naps at Catcher ks what i meant
Rev Halofan - March 18, 2009
I agree on both counts
I hope they figure out how to get Wood in the lineup on a regular basis.
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Naps is there only as DH
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
top of 1st 1-2-3 :(
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Bot of 1st
Dustin allows a walk and a hit but gets out of it
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
top of 2nd 1-2-3 :(
Line out, K, FO
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Angels should rotate Figgins
One day at 3rd then SS, 2b and outfield
This would allow Wood to play atleast 5 games a week
And give some of the regulars some rest
KOBEBOY24 - March 18, 2009
Sosh has already said he does not want to rotate folks defensively.
LINK
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Yeah i saw that earlier
I mean Figgy wouldnt really be a big downgrade on defense by switching him on those positions
I havent seen him play shortstop in a really really long time
KOBEBOY24 - March 18, 2009
I doubt that Figgy would have the range of any of the three others (Wood, Aybar, Izturis)
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Figgy is a good defender...
but in his seasons where he shuffled from one spot to the next, he really struggled and made errors. He kind of has an incorrectly placed label of “bad defender,” but if you look at the errors made, they were usually made right after being shifted from 3rd to center from one game to the next. Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
bot 2nd 1-2-3 :)
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Game Day Play-by-Play?
acuda27 - March 18, 2009
HR for Figgy. 2-0 good guys.
sothball - March 18, 2009

Im stuck in class….
acuda27 - March 18, 2009
Ask and you shall receive...
GAMEDAY
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Gameday says Aybar hit HR
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Gameday says Aybar hit the HR
and Gameday is always fast and never wrong…
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
LOL...maybe Huddy and Terry can't distinguish between the 2...
I think gameday is wrong.
sothball - March 18, 2009
no doubt in my mind.
Gameday is always slow and typically wrong
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Gameday finally fixed its mistake. Figgy homers 2-0
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
I wonder considering how good everyone is doing if the Angels would try to retalk trade talks for Peavy
KOBEBOY24 - March 18, 2009
Holy moly, Naps with a SB
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
so who hit it?
yo
TheAngelsAngels - March 18, 2009
Figgy
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
word

TheAngelsAngels - March 18, 2009
GMJ... "tape measure" HR
3-0 good guys…
sothball - March 18, 2009
wow
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
GMJ must be good and healthy now.
44FAN - March 18, 2009
or back to the HGH breakfast shakes
autry's cowboys - March 18, 2009
Bot of 3, Dustin gives up 2 hits but gets out unscathed
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Gary Mathews
Comeback player of the year!
yeah right
KOBEBOY24 - March 18, 2009
Where do I sign up for the GMJ fan club?
or have I accidently nominated myself to lead it since I am likely the charter member?
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
i'm there with you
SCHalo - March 18, 2009
So wait...
are you “24” for Kobe or for GMJ? ;)
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Damn, Moseley's cruisin'.
TheOptimist - March 18, 2009
Yup. To top of 5th, 3-0 Angels.
sothball - March 18, 2009
to top of 6th, 3-0 Angels.
Moseley with 5 shut-out innings.
sothball - March 18, 2009
Gavin McLeod
still pitching…
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Beckham shuns Europe and LA Galaxy...
and is playing SS for the ChiSox?
;)
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
if Jordan could do it...
why not beckham???
stuck in Romania - March 18, 2009
Nice #45 reference...
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Izturis in for Figgins at 3B
Figgy 1-for-3 with that 2-run jack. Strange that Izzy is getting some reps at the hot corner.
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Izzzy at 3b Wood at SS yesterday
still it’s not an option to but wood at ss during the season. sure mike, we are on to you.
UCIHalo - March 18, 2009
(waves hand slowly in front of their faces) “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.”
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Booby Jerks in for Gavin McFloyd.
From Love Boat captain to beached whale (sorry Bobby).
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Gameday stuck ...
at Jenks/Kendrick for the last 10 minutes.
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Going to top of 7th, still 3-0.
Huddy and Terry are talking with Mr. Moreno, so the play-by-play is suffering.
Not a lot of action to report since GMJ’s HR.
sothball - March 18, 2009
and thus the gameday got stuck too...
stuck in Romania - March 18, 2009
Looking at the box score...
impressive … Juan River has a hit today!
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Johnny Rivers, that is.
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
He better start hitting the way HGH is hitting
I know, I know, small sample size, etc.
SoCalWine - March 18, 2009
Alex Rodriguez needs to hire an advisor
When the hell was he thinking when he did that photo with the mirror???
Fan Since 1981 - March 18, 2009
That was out of left field. Were they talking about it on the Angels broadcast or something?
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
I saw the photo at the Yankee blog
At first I thought it was a fake. But no. It really is ARod and he willingly posed like that for an article in Details magazine.
Fan Since 1981 - March 18, 2009
Jepsen in to pitch the 7th
sothball - March 18, 2009
Meet George Jepsen...
he has pitched 6th and 7th scoreless with 1H, 0BB, and 1K. Not too shabby.
Downing Rules - March 18, 2009
Yikes, HK 0-4. Not the best day for our hitters...
TheOptimist - March 18, 2009
Floyd always seems to give the Angels fits.
Just seems to have the Angels number. He’s a guy with good stuff that gets in trouble at times when teams are selective, the Angels have never been super selective.
Also if 4 runs is a bad day then count me in, because the Angels will run away with the West again.
MH252525 - March 18, 2009
Dotel strikes out all 3 batters in top of 8th.
Weak.
sothball - March 18, 2009
Speier in to pitch...
…and there’s a run on batting helmets at the team store. Coincidence?
sothball - March 18, 2009
Speier...2 K's, hit batter, batter caught stealing. So...
to the 9th…
sothball - March 18, 2009
Any word on velocity?
I hope Speier can bounce back otherwise he could be the new Esteban Yan.
Fan Since 1981 - March 18, 2009
I didn't hear anything on velocity.
sothball - March 18, 2009
brown playing 1b
looks like he completely fell off of the 3b depth cart. if he wants to break into the bigs his going to have to do it there.
UCIHalo - March 18, 2009
He's our backup option in case Morales flops.
Zu Long - March 18, 2009
which looks less likely than Rivera Flopping
norcaliangelsfan - March 18, 2009
Yeah, Rivera is making me wonder if Matthews might really be the better choice at DH between the two.
He seems to want it more at the very least.
Zu Long - March 18, 2009
Im hoping its just a minor funk.......
norcaliangelsfan - March 19, 2009
I'd rather find kick Figgy to LF, Juan to the bench, BWood in the lineup if Juan struggles
LosAngel - March 19, 2009
bases loaded
1 out
SRod up
princeton11loveshalos - March 18, 2009
4-0 Thanks to S-Rod
princeton11loveshalos - March 18, 2009
Cobra on the mound...
Someone call GI Joe.
3rd Echelon - March 18, 2009
First 3 batters reach base in bottom of 9th.
sothball - March 18, 2009
Bases still juiced, 1 out. Speier still pitching...or whatever. No runs...yet.
sothball - March 18, 2009
Sac fly. 2 outs, 3-1 Halos.
sothball - March 18, 2009
4-1
princeton11loveshalos - March 18, 2009
I forgot about the run in the top of the 9th.
sothball - March 18, 2009
Ha! Speier lifted with 2 outs in bottom of 9th.
sothball - March 18, 2009
lol
norcaliangelsfan - March 18, 2009
and thats the ball game
4-1 Angels
princeton11loveshalos - March 18, 2009
My dad would say "It ain't worth a bucket of warm spit"...
…here goes anyway.
The Angels Cactus League record is now 15-4.
sothball - March 18, 2009
I would love to eat crow on Moseley. He is lighting it up so far in spring training!
