Sunday, October 13, 2002 - Minnesota Twins Vs. Anaheim Angels
Mays @ Appier - Look for a relief appearance by Johan Santana among MANY Twins Pitchers.
In an odd coincidence as reported earlier today, Adam Kennedy was released by the St. Louis Cardinals this morning.

I read that report today on AK.
His batting skills disappeared faster male libido at a Rosie O’Donnell convention.
sothball - February 9, 2009
you've been saving that one, haven't you?
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
Nope...right off th top of my head (not the kind of expression a bald guy should use).
I blame the Cabernet Sauvignon.
sothball - February 9, 2009
yeah the Cab will do that to ya
lol
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
I could have said faster than...
tax dollars in the hands of a Democratic congress, or Democratic state legislature, or Democratic whatever…but that would have been unfair to AK. There is absolutely NOTHING that could disappear that fast!
sothball - February 9, 2009
hahahahahaha
you’re a good man, sothball. a good man indeed.
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
You guys must be "finding your voice."
44FAN - February 9, 2009
No...I'm trying to find my wallet so i can hide it.
sothball - February 9, 2009
Don't worry, it's already empty...
it was used by Bush to invade Iraq and pay corporations to keep them afloat. Next time you go over a pot-hole flip off the nearest WAMU branch – they got the money that could have been used for something useful…
jimmuscomp - February 9, 2009
no no no
it was used by the Congress to make sure all those bank execs had a great vacation.
having no oversight on that money was a BRILLIANT idea. thanks, Pelosi and Reid.
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
Bingo........
congress…..
norcaliangelsfan - February 9, 2009
Yeah...
Paulson didn’t have ANYTHING to do with it…
jimmuscomp - February 10, 2009
gimme a break
stop trying to deflect the blame on this one… it lies squarely on the shoulders of our “let’s throw money we don’t have at the problem and hope it goes away” congress.
howiestheman - February 10, 2009
Who was clamoring for a bailout?
I blame the congress for not writing better legislation, for sure. But they were basically extorted to write legislation NOW and save the world…
Anyway, I don’t disagree that the congress blew this one – but failing to acknowledge that “W” and Paulson were the impetus for the Financial bailout is foolish, or ignorant. Not sure which.
jimmuscomp - February 10, 2009
How ’bout them Halos?
Downing Rules - February 10, 2009
who was clamoring for the bailout??
try Pelosi, Reid and Barney effing Frank! Bush didn’t have power during his last 2 years… the Congress was Democrat-controlled. he had to do whatever they wanted.
the first bailout came because of the Congress, though I do blame Bush for actually signing the thing.
what’s your excuse for this one?
howiestheman - February 10, 2009
Paulson was bitching to everyone who would listen...
about needing to “take in the toxic debt”. The Dems in congress should have said, “screw you”, but they probably thought that it needed to happen because they were extorted into thinking that inaction would cripple the economy. The TARP fund has been terribly mismanaged by all – can we agree on that?
As for Bush not having power for 2 years – if the Dems could get what they wanted why didn’t they get a significant draw down of troops from Iraq? Shoot, why couldn’t they get timelines imposed on the Iraqi government so that if X, Y and Z wasn’t met the troops would come home?
Bush had power – all that law breakin’ power he used for eight years – and he and the doltish Republicans in the congress didn’t allow floor votes on things like I mentioned because they had enough votes to filibuster. That, my friend is power!
So, while the Dems were in “control” they didn’t have a supermajority to push their agenda forward w/o Republican help, which they got none of…
As for this Bailout – I am for it, minus the tax cuts. I am all for spending mad money on infrastructure improvements. This country is over $2 trillion behind in infrastructure upkeep – it’s high time that shit gets done. The downturn gives a good opportunity for government to kill two birds with one stone…
jimmuscomp - February 11, 2009
Frank was vocal about the Auto
bailout – which was minimal in comparison. I don’t recall him with regard to the TARP fund. But, I’ll take your word for it…
jimmuscomp - February 11, 2009
LESS FILLING!
Downing Rules - February 11, 2009
GREAT TASTE!
howiestheman - February 11, 2009
Bingo........

norcaliangelsfan - February 9, 2009

howiestheman - February 9, 2009

howiestheman - February 9, 2009
I hopr the commercials were better in 2002...
E-surance?
Oh well…there’s always Cal Worthington…
sothball - February 9, 2009
Has Big Poopi put on a hundred pounds since 2002?
or does he just look fat in that Bahstin uniform?
Rev Halofan - February 9, 2009
it's the extra douchebag weight he's carrying now.
it comes standard with the Boston uniform.
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
Yeah that's right...standard issue for the Sux...
sothball - February 9, 2009
Maybe he got some "advice" from A-Rod???
sothball - February 9, 2009
Damn I missed that game when it was on in 2002
Looks like I’m gonna miss it again.
442 - February 9, 2009
Torii still hits the pop-up outs like he used to.
44FAN - February 9, 2009
point 2 for AK
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
...and there goes #2...
sothball - February 9, 2009
Just tuned in ...
to see it. Priceless
eyespy - February 9, 2009
Well..
Priceless would also be Pershizyski sustaining a career ending injury in this series.
It would have saved a whole lotta hate.
sothball - February 9, 2009
Hey Rev...that 2nd home run hit close to your seats. Were you there?
sothball - February 9, 2009
I was there but not in my seats
I did not buy the postseason package – this was the only game of that postseason that i saw in person, sat in lower view 3B side by the camera well.
Rev Halofan - February 9, 2009
i really liked Brad Fulmer, always trying to kill the ball.
44FAN - February 9, 2009
I agree.
The trio of Wooten, Spezio, and Fullmer rotating between 1B and DH was really effective in 2002.
sothball - February 9, 2009
I was living in Japan during this time
and listened to the games on the radio. Never really knew how loud them stiks could get. They would mix them out of the broadcast so we only had a faint feel for the noise.
eyespy - February 9, 2009
That lady had the wrong animal
she was choking her monkey
eyespy - February 9, 2009
can you do that on TV?
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
As long as he Monkey doesn't mind...
sothball - February 9, 2009
She did it at the Sun Bowl in ElPaso
eyespy - February 9, 2009
Donkey
chokage
Rev Halofan - February 9, 2009
KRod walked a guy in a clutch situation?
weird… that never happens.
howiestheman - February 9, 2009
Passed Ball
Ah the Bengie Molina apologists never mention that part of his game…
Rev Halofan - February 9, 2009
man I dont have FSW......this blows
norcaliangelsfan - February 9, 2009
6+ years later, it still gives me goosebumps...
3 home runs in a clinching playoff game. Wow!!
sothball - February 9, 2009
Awesome!
The go ahead 3-runner off Johan! An 0-2 pitch nonetheless, up and away hanger!
AlohaHalofan - February 9, 2009
Was at this game
Forgot about it being on last night. Damn.
I sat in the last row terrace wheelchair accessible seats. You know, the ones where you can’t see anything hit more than 30 feet above the ground…some homies from the ’hood were standing next to me during most of the game, they claim they snuck in, but nobody cared. I ended up having a “bro moment” with a couple of them when we won that game.
