With today being the 23rd day of December, it's Festivus time! So, as we gather around the Festivus Pole and before you perform "The Feats of Strength" or listing your Festivus Miracles, let us partake in the "The Airing of Grievances". I'll start:

1) What's up with the wives of some ballplayers and wanting to live on the east coast?
2) The Angels need a duo like this.
3) I hate clowns.
4) Why aren't there more pictures like this?
5) When will the MLB wise up and do something like this?
6) So crap like this won't happen.
7) Did I mention I hate clowns (not you Rex)?

Why does Mike Scioscia, the most revered manager in baseball,
continue to mock our intelligence by appearing in poorly acted and written Howard’s commercials all season long?
44FAN - December 23, 2009
I Disagree...
Those commercials are classic. The more wooden his acting is, the better. Cracks me up every time.
KennyKatella - December 23, 2009
The so-called "reporters" are pretty wooden, too.
“Gee Mike, you sure know a lot about LAUN-DRY!”
red floyd - December 23, 2009
I still don't get that commercial...
Why does he emphasize “laundry”?
shiftyeyedgoat - December 23, 2009
I'm not too sure
But Scioscia sure does know how to get a lasagna out of a uniform.
Teixeira Who? - December 23, 2009
lasagna stain*
Teixeira Who? - December 23, 2009
I'm sure he can do both
RexTookMyStash - December 23, 2009
Is it any worse than Vin Scully?
“Farmer John is the Eastern most in quality and the Western most in flavor. You can always trust the Farmer’s smiling face on your meat!”
Quad Fin Rider - December 23, 2009
Festivus for the Rest of Us!
Maybe it’s the recession, or Tony Reagins, or too much Christmas party eggnog spiked with Everclear, but Santa has really disappointed me this year. I noticed the old bum has dropped a large dark lump in my stocking hanging from the fireplace and my nose tells me that it ain’t coal! My worst fear is that it might be Derek Lowe.
Quad Fin Rider - December 23, 2009
It's Fernando Rodney
Epic Dean - December 23, 2009
So that was the hot, steamy turd in my stocking...
Quad Fin Rider - December 23, 2009
I wondered where that extra sock came from.
WiHaloFan - December 23, 2009
I got a lot of problems with you people!
1.) Lackey I know it’s business but you still broke my heart.
2.) Damn you Congress for trying to pass this shit storm of a health bill before people have even had a chance to read it.
3.) Damn you America for not making a bigger stink about said health bill. (I guess we’re all too bogged down by shopping and egg nog hangovers to care)
4.) Why hasn’t DonoRomantico been banned yet?
5.) All bay area sports teams can go to Hades. (that includes you SJ sharks)
6.) Damn you people who instead of bringing up an issue to your face, instead decide to email you about it and cc your boss.
7.) My roommate for not ever wanting to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.
That is all, for now.

clover_black - December 23, 2009
Throwdown
1.) Bad fanposts.
2.) PennDOT. Road in town (main one to my work) has been shut down for a month. Think Caltrans x’s 100
3.) Beckett, just because
halofan4life - December 23, 2009
grievances
Charlie Rose
Pete Rose
in that order.
Rev Halofan - December 23, 2009
Why
you want them both in the HOF?
or both of them eliminated?
Moondoggy - December 23, 2009
What? No Axl Rose?
Seems a glaring omission.
LazorkoRules - December 23, 2009
Grievances
1. New Era – please make “low crown” Halos 5950s.
2. Majestic – please make Thema Base elevation jackets in black on black.
3. If I can’t stand in the dugout suites, Boras can’t either.
4. Please retire the numbers of DE, GA, TP, TS, and VG as soon as possible.
5. More organ music now!
Hap - December 23, 2009
Grievances
Why do other teams ask us to decimate our 25 man roster, and then give away the player for an Abba-Zabba bar and a bucket of balls?
red floyd - December 23, 2009
Preach it!
Slasher52 - December 23, 2009
Grievances
1. Flatbillers in MLB
2. “Fans” in expensive seats who don’t know about or pay attention to the game
3. Scioscia’s interviews: less press release, more human being
yeswecan - December 23, 2009
this, this, this.
#1. Douche in action:
How God damned fat does your head have to be for an official mlb hat to fit like that?
shiftyeyedgoat - December 23, 2009
If he ever signs with the Halos
we’ll lost one of the hats out front of the stadium
Moondoggy - December 23, 2009
Grievances
1) Living in Georgia.
2) The housing market (hence me living in Georgia).
3) The lack of a job (hence me living in Georgia).
4) My cat having a hairball on my couch.
5) TeaParty morons.
6) Angels Doomsayers.
Slasher52 - December 23, 2009
Ok, I'll bite.
Can you be more specific about your hating on Tea Partiers? Are they all morons, or just some? And why? Most importantly, what does it have to do with Halos Heaven or Angels Baseball?
Rally Manatee - December 23, 2009
My personal grievance with them is that it was supposed to be a one time thing
on the even of the, now infamously inept, bail-out money vote. Good people got together, drank tea, discussed politics and the role of government like rational people and took press-photos for an image of solidarity against the congressional acts.
Now, it’s become overtaken by the people who never knew why it started and has simply become an anti-Obama pulpit and choir, reneging on its prior purpose of a one-time show of populous disapproval.
shiftyeyedgoat - December 23, 2009
Also, the above is a response to an off-topic discussion.
Disclaimers aside. Back to baseball.
shiftyeyedgoat - December 23, 2009
Oh, I see
Now that you’ve had your say, back to baseball. Cool.
That’s like the umps warning both benches after Beckett throws a beanball, so that the Angels, despite having done nothing wrong, can’t pitch inside the rest of the game.
rspencer - December 23, 2009
I was at that game
and it’s more like Torii Hunter taking himself out of the game after the umps throw him out (‘cept the ump hasn’t thrown me out… yet).
Or me in the stands, sitting next to some chowds who were cheering on Beckett, and me restraining from punching them both back to Boston.
shiftyeyedgoat - December 23, 2009
Well, bro
If you’re gonna hate an organization because it is no longer doing what it initially set out to do, then you’ve got a lot of organizations to hate. From the top down, you’d have to start with the government as a whole, all 4 branches: executive, legislative, judicial, and network news.
Rally Manatee - December 24, 2009
I don't have a problem that they've changed,
I have a problem with what they’ve now changed into. Rather than simply showing the strength of a group with ideas that differ from the above aforementioned branches of government, it’s become a group that is contrariwise to the government, no matter the decisions made.
Granted, the original incarnation and the current make-up wouldn’t disagree with too much disparity, it’s become a showboat of negativity.
shiftyeyedgoat - December 24, 2009
Well
Shiftyeyedgoat pretty much nailed it on the head, and as this isn’t a political forum, we can adjourn for the time being.
It doesn’t have anything to do with Angels Baseball, but neither does Charlie Rose, department of transportation, health care bill, et al. It was just one among many grievances, formed in respect to Festivus.
Slasher52 - December 23, 2009
Also, I got the hell out of GA
you will find your way, too.
shiftyeyedgoat - December 23, 2009
Good lord, I hope so.
It is time to get out of Dodge.
Slasher52 - December 23, 2009
Too lazy to get out of GA...
UK Halo - December 24, 2009
I can agree to most of your list if it were amended to this...
1) Not living where I want
2) Not having a house where I want
3) Not having a job where I want
4) Cats
WiHaloFan - December 23, 2009
We have much
grievance in common! Ah, the joys of Festivus.
Slasher52 - December 23, 2009
how can you not like pussy…….. cats?
Downing Rules - December 23, 2009
Low brow....
I like it.
halofan4life - December 24, 2009
1. Dumb ass GM’s/owners who drive up the prices good players expect by giving guys like Jason Marquis 7.5 million a year. Yes, that included our GMJ 10 mil a year signing.
2. Sleezy agents who only care about the highest dollar amount so they get the biggest commission possible
3. people who dont understand you do not win championships with an all star team and keep crying to bring in big name players rather than develop some like KMo, and hopefully Wood
4. The fact angel stadium requires a full price ticket for my 2 year old
5. Umpires.
6. people who think the east coast is better than the west.
Balls and Strikes - December 23, 2009

can honestly say they prefer the east coast except in ignorance
Moondoggy - December 23, 2009
As a person living on the east coast.
I completely agree.
halofan4life - December 24, 2009
1) Contrived slogans such as “win with what we’ve got”
2) Snow that has to be measured in feet, not inches
3) Waiting for “tomorrow” to fix what is broken today (“the free agent class is stronger next year” crowd….)
4) Fox baseball announcers…all of them
5) Scott Boras represented baseball players
6) Federal and state income taxes
7) Pitchers who are allowed to take 3 or 4 minutes grooming themselves after every pitch
8) Every aspect of the NY, Boston and Philadelphia sports scene
9) Buzzy Bavasi (primarily for the jackass comment declaring that Nolan Ryan could be replaced with two “8-7” pitchers….)
10) Drunk drivers
mustard_man - December 23, 2009
I respectfully disagree on...
#1. When it comes organically and spontaneously out of an interview, I love it. Examples: “We will with with what we’ve got” and “We fly flags.” Contrived crap like “Hunt for Red October” is a different story.
Hap - December 23, 2009
Umm....
Adenhart (R.I.P) was under Boras

Moondoggy - December 23, 2009
my top 10 in no particular order
1) Whiny posts about our of trades or lack of free-agent signings
2) HH Trolls who only whine about our lack of trades and free-agent signings
3) Doggie farts
4) People who feel they have to fanpost old news that already exists as a fanshot
5) Hawk Harrelson
6) Having no baseball to watch during the winter
7) South Coast Plaza during the holidays
8) Expensive relief pitchers
9) John Lackey

Rev Halofan - December 23, 2009
What Rev said.
halofan4life - December 24, 2009
My grievance...
1) Fanposters who don’t use tags.
I have nothing else to complain about.
Downing Rules - December 23, 2009
Disclaimer on Tags
I don’t know what they’re for so I don’t use them.
red floyd - December 23, 2009
They allow cross-references to previous fanposts/fanshots
So, an article about Gary Matthews that someone fanshots, will bring up articles from HH on GMJ and articles around SBN on GMJ. It’s a very cool tool that not many here use.
Downing Rules - December 23, 2009
The following things piss me off:
In no particular order…
1. Nearly everything about this post season.
2. The fact that I’ve only done half my Christmas shopping
3. Opening day is like 100 days away.
4. That my facebook seeming exploded with Yankee fans come ALCS time. However it did help me thin out my friends list on facebook.
5. That Yankee fans claim World Series victories in 1923 and 1927 as their own. (We’ve won 27!)
6. This will be the first Adenhart Christmas without their son (that one kills me).
7. John Lackey and hearing about game 7. Game 7 doesn’t exonerate you from being a money grubbing asshole.
8. ESPN
9. Fox Sports
10. The Los Angeles Dodgers.
Teixeira Who? - December 23, 2009
Ouch on 6...
I’ll remember to say a prayer for their comfort during my Christmas celebrations.
4 had me laughing because I did the same thing.
Downing Rules - December 23, 2009
9a. Time Warner
red floyd - December 23, 2009
Grievances:
1. No Rex Hudler to listen to next season. Sucks the joy right out of life.
2. The endless speculation/rumors in the offseason and the equally endless discussions that accompany it.
3. Fox and TBS baseball “announcers”—a term used loosely.
4. Household appliances that break.
5. People who can’t put their &*%#@$^ cellphones down for a few minutes and drive.
6. Dodger stadium parking lot.
7. Drunks (includes drunk drivers)
8. Catchers going out to talk to the pitcher after every other pitch.
9. East coast bias
10. Lack of umpire accountability.
hbhalofan - December 23, 2009
Mostly I'm angry about Rex
Everything else went more or less how I expected it to. Doesn’t make it right, but Rex is going to be my one grievance. How joyless and deprived of myrth the rockpile is going to be next year. Just not right…
Everyone else’s grief will sufficiently cover my ire over Lackey et al.
Anyway, I’m not going to create my own Fanshot about this because it’s 100% OT and I’d be simply asking for a blogwhore’s flamefest, so since we’re discussing Christmas (okay, not really, more an irreverent Christmas offshoot) here’s the best place for me to mention this (maybe):
I do a podcast and the current show is the Christmas version. You should listen to it. The podcast itself is called The Swinging Wake. The Christmas episode is called “A Fraggle Stick Car Christmas.”
It’s up at SwingingWakeRadio.com
Listen to it. Or don’t. You have nothing to lose except your sanity.
Merry Ho Ho.

I'm pissed about . . .
1) Vlad most likely not being on the team. Sometimes I feel like that girl from the u tube.
2)John Lackey’s ugly face up on the front page. ‘Ode to my ass hair’ is what it should say
3)not re-signing FIGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4)WTF?? way more money and no better talent than our own DO, who is now a Ranger. (my feeling on Rodney)
5)Countries that lock people in cages for a plant. (they would charge God with manufacture and intent to distribute if they could.)
6)Why do they keep giving millions of dollars to players who suck at their jobs? (I’m talking to you ____________ (fill in the blank).
7)people that whine about posts like this.
8)slow ass old people who think they can talk on their phone and drive at the same time.

2. any raider fan
3. my teams never seeming to want to spend big money on some very good talent
peteyweestro - December 23, 2009
"Tinsel is very distracting"
1. Raiders fans who still think they’re going to the Super Bowl…….this year. (good call, petey)
2. Shields being VERY overlooked by posters here as having a presence next year.
3. People not realizing we have three All-Stars for starting pitchers, and the other one was on the cover of a video game(success in my book).
4. Arredondo gone….I truly thought he was going to be the next big thing.
5. IEDs
6. Snowbirds in Yuma, AZ
7. Michael Bay(worst director, ever).
8. Guidos and Guidettes
9. Shields is the LAST player remaining……

#6 is why Lackey signed with Boston, and he'll never get another non-call of a strike 3 like in game 5 while wearing a Sux uniform
Not to mention why Halladay didn’t want to come here.
My main gripe is free agency. I hate it, I despise it, I loathe it. You boo a guy mercilessly for years, then all of a sudden he’s on your team. Or you root for a guy for years, all of a sudden he signs with the enemy and now you have to root against him.
Fred Fredrix - December 24, 2009
Where does it say being a sports fan is easy?
44FAN - December 25, 2009
I'll wrestle you Ghandi (Fight Club reference)
no particular order:
1. all national baseball announcers (local aok)
2. Tim Tebow, Brett Farve (mainly because of ESPN love affair, and latter includes being an ass, can’t decide to stay retire)
3. both NY baseball team and Red Sox unintelligent fans (know your players)
4. facebookers who only talk about the team during the highs (aka rooting during playoffs)
5. LOST fans
6. angry person in newspaper who ranted that Christmas was the only holiday in December, and nothing else matter
7. winter cold and snow
8. twitter
9. Scott Boras
10. Avatar hype
