they have a really good system, i have a minor league team in my city, in like 16 years they were affiliated 14 of those we made the playoffs. had beltran, mike sweeney (nicest guy in baseball) daymon, grienke, etc
For your sake, you weren’t being sarcastic. Alright fine. It’s a crappy location, given the jet streams or whatever the heck’s going on for a park. There. Like it more?
meh, to be fair we just didnt get it done last year when we had him. also if the guy likes the east coast better cant blame him for leaving. its a businees, the angles arent going to be keeping figgy or vladdy on sentiment alone
But Tex is like that girl that your flirted with, treated real nice but when it came time to ask her to the prom she turned you down for the popular guy who would improve her social status
i jjust want to see the Angels at the top of their game
if they are playing well and they still lose then fine, but this is just awful, cant play defense, cant hit when the Yankees are hitting the inning is an eternity when the Angels are up to bat its 5 minutes
I don’t think I ever heard a single person say he was done…Just overrated defensively and declining offensively (which he proved wrong this year). But I don’t think anyone said he was done or not a productive player…
I can’t fault them greatly on an individual play THAT close (it was even debatable in super-slo-mo) but isn’t it funny how all the close plays all seem to go the same way?
we cannot get lead off hitters on, I agree with Joe, we really have not hit the ball hard, both nights.
I think Tori hit a shot, Vlad hit a shot last night. Maybe we had two more hard its last night. If Rivera would stop pulling every pitch we would be ok.
We need baseruners on, early in the inning, very frustrating, its like there is always two outs and no one on and not sure if Mickey Hatcher understands, Walks are ok, high pitch counts are ok.
Can we blame him? Honestly, as a coach for 15 years, what can he say on a positive note for the Angels, I have heard Joe Buck al lweek on radio interviews, he has not but praised the Angels, actually he said he had no feel for this series, he thought both teams could win.
I do not blame Joe, lets get hits!!!! and Runs!!!!! I like a walk or two too!!
Sorry, I will take Joe Buck and even McCarver who 90 percent of the nation hates any day over Steve, Rex, Rory, etc. Basically our announcing team.
We have a lot of moves in the off season, I hope and pray we do not have a team like we did in the 90’s with the possibility of losing 4 free agents.
But, one big free agent Id sign, Id get in my darn car or Limo if I am Arte and Team mead is t drive to San Diego and Sign Dick Enberg to a 3 year contract and make him one of the highest paid announcers in baseball.
Now for tonight, big inning, we need base runners early and we need to get ahead of the count.
Angel pitching is fine, some one riped me yesterday and through some f bombs at me saying I am always negative, no I am realistic. Plus, I take the losses harder then anyone, that is the coaching side of me, I am too competitive.
So here our starting pitching has been fine! COme on, they need some help, Lackey was fine last night, he made a huge mistake I believe walking the lead off hitter.
the other one is the “spcglobal” guy and has that naked old fart picture and he writes in all caps and ends every post with “BRING THE DH TO THE NL!!!!!!!!!!”
first pitch swing, cant win , our plate patience is very bad,. Anyone agree? I worked with Rod Carew for 4 years, he drilled it into me, working the count, especially if you a leadoff hiter or a number 2 hitter, get the pitch count up.
Yes, a hit a run!!!!! Yes, yes.
But, for all the people on here who bash me, would u agree, when the team has not been hitting, you need to be selective, and patient at the plate? Is there anything wrong with taking a strike?
Someone asked why I worked with him. He was my hitting coach for four years, right after he retired, 7th grade to basically my senior year, taught me so much about hitting, made me a better hitter then I ever was, and I felt confident and was never intimidated by a pitcher once I was working with him twice a week in Anaheim Hills
and if there were 3000 unsold (not saying there weren’t, but hypothetically), then mgmt. would almost surely buy them up just to make sure it was sold out. teams do this all the time, it’s usually for regular season games in whatever sport, and they mostly go to charity. but for playoffs, it’s uncommon especially for a team like Yanks so I’m guessing they were sold and went unused.
Why? we need an inning to take a lead? New York will score I saw at the worst 4 runs this game, for all the eople that wants to tell me to F off, that is 90 percent of you. Iv coached the game at a high level for 15 years. that inning could of been bigger. Yes, I am happy we tied it, but, Bobby A. Walks and who knows a 4 run inning?
ALso, Great teams come back and answer when scored on. Hope the Yanks do not score this inning.
For Vlad, can anyone here say he has had two good at bats tonight? We need him to deliver when runners are in scoringposition.
yeah

"again, Mark Teixeira"
stupid commentary, they can’t even speak in complete sentences…
what about Mark Teixeira? I made that play in little league at 1B 9/10 times, and I never even went on beyond that.
Brian S (brianguy) - October 17, 2009
lol i really doubt u were able to catch a ball in the dirt laying it all out

we cannot get lead off hitters on, I agree with Joe, we really have not hit the ball hard, both nights.

Now for tonight, big inning, we need base runners early and we need to get ahead of the count.

angel pitching
Angel pitching is fine, some one riped me yesterday and through some f bombs at me saying I am always negative, no I am realistic. Plus, I take the losses harder then anyone, that is the coaching side of me, I am too competitive.
So here our starting pitching has been fine! COme on, they need some help, Lackey was fine last night, he made a huge mistake I believe walking the lead off hitter.

first pitch swing, cant win , our plate patience is very bad,.
Is there anything wrong with taking a strike?

bc he played in ws, even though scoc managed a ws. and had 4 players from yankees late 90s dynasty still on the team.

corporate seats, big wigs would rather watch it from their condo.
clover_black - October 17, 2009
yeah, no doubt some would rather stay warm
and if there were 3000 unsold (not saying there weren’t, but hypothetically), then mgmt. would almost surely buy them up just to make sure it was sold out. teams do this all the time, it’s usually for regular season games in whatever sport, and they mostly go to charity. but for playoffs, it’s uncommon especially for a team like Yanks so I’m guessing they were sold and went unused.

Why? we need an inning to take a lead? New York will score I saw at the worst 4 runs this game, for all the eople that wants to tell me to F off, that is 90 percent of you. Iv coached the game at a high level for 15 years. that inning could of been bigger. Yes, I am happy we tied it, but, Bobby A. Walks and who knows a 4 run inning?
ALso, Great teams come back and answer when scored on. Hope the Yanks do not score this inning.
