American League Championship Series - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Versus New York Yankees, Best of Seven contest for the American League pennant and an appearance in the 2009 World Series.
Ever notice how the National Media always published Game Times as "Eastern" because, well, if your grandparents or parents were not smart enough to leave the urban dumps for a move out west, you, Mister East-Coast, are probably not intelligent enough to understand simple concepts such as time zones. Since the networks pander to the simpletons caught in the blizzardesque blight of the Atlantic Love Canal and always publish Game Start Times with your clock, we on the West Coast proudly present the times of the First pitch in Pacific Time in the hopes of confusing the mouth-breathers who won't see a seventy degree day until June. All games are on FOX National.
Game 1 - Angels @ Yankees - Fri, Oct. 16 - First Pitch at 4:58 PM - Pacific Time
Game 2 - Angels @ Yankees - Sat, Oct. 17 - First Pitch at 4:58 PM - Pacific Time
Sunday Off Day
Game 3 - Yankees @ Angels - Mon, Oct. 19 - DAY GAME - 1:14 PM Pacific Time
Game 4 - Yankees @ Angels - Tue, Oct. 20 - First Pitch at 4:58 PM - Pacific Time
Wednesday Off Day
Game 5* - Yankees @ Angels - Thu, Oct. 22 - First Pitch at 4:58 PM - Pacific Time
Friday Off Day
Game 6* - Angels @ Yankees - Sat, Oct. 24 - This one is tricky...
If the NLCS goes to a Game 7, then that Philles-@-Dodgers affair will be telecast in "Prime Time" and the Angels will play a DAY GAME - 1:14 PM Pacific Time - but if the NLCS has finished, the ALCS Game Six will see the First Pitch thrown at 5:08 PM, Pacific Time
Game 7* - Angels @ Yankees - Sun, Oct. 25 - First Pitch at 5:19 PM - Pacific Time
* - if necessary

Hey Rev in case you missed it
Game 2 says Angels @ Angels. Which would be frightening going up against our lineup.
teopeht - October 11, 2009
+1
I don’t wanna face our lineup either
halofan4life - October 12, 2009
Yeah, those guys are MONSTERS.
Zu Long - October 13, 2009
Angels@Angels ?
That situation is so overwhelming that Chuck Norris would lose.
Fan Since 1981 - October 13, 2009
Damn that is pretty overwhelming
JoseGuillenSux - October 13, 2009
either way we take that game though….
FirstTwoThird - October 11, 2009
Tix in hand for game#3 and ready to roll.
I love the 3.4 and 5 game sequence at the Big A.
HALO N BRIMSTONE - October 11, 2009
Me too. Tix in 404 for Game 3.
red floyd - October 11, 2009
We're not going, and we didn't manage to snag tickets to the WS today. :-(
opiejeanne - October 13, 2009
I tried with no luck too.
But a Monday day game, didn’t think they’d do that in Anaheim. Oh well.
AlanFalcon - October 13, 2009
I'm going to see what I can find on StubHub, maybe something out in the bleachers.
opiejeanne - October 13, 2009
Ditto that.
I’d prefer to grab two tickets — but if I find a good price on a single, well, my wife said she’d understand.
AlanFalcon - October 13, 2009
I don't think my husband would be too happy if I went and he didn't. Or vice versa.
opiejeanne - October 13, 2009
I tried for a single ticket today and got nothing.
angelsfan777 - October 13, 2009
got ticket for game 4 - hoping for a sweep
I can hope…
No luck with WS tickets. The ones I could afford were gone in 30 minutes and it took 15 being on hold as it processed the tickets.
angelsfan777 - October 13, 2009
Rumor has it
that the Dodger game will be the early one Friday
Angels_48 - October 11, 2009
Gotta love the random off day between Games 4 and 5
It doesn’t really serve a purpose.
gilbert - October 11, 2009
to help the yanks go with a 3 man rotation
Fred Fredrix - October 12, 2009
It's because they all know....
Angels in 4.
So it doesn’t matter.
AlanFalcon - October 13, 2009
Wooooooooooo
Pumped for Game 3. Will see them from 429
blast21dave - October 11, 2009
I'll wave to you from the other foul pole

7:30et
Just saw an advertisement on Foxsports.com for the ALCS, it says it will start at 7:30pm et. We get the night game. Sorry Dodgers
SMUangelFan - October 11, 2009
Ummmm
I would think that if the Angels start at 7:30 ET, the Dodgers would start at 10:30 ET, considering it’s on the west coast. There’s no way they start a west coast game at 1 pm when there’s an east coast game on the same day. Not even Fox is that dumb.
Gorbachav5 - October 12, 2009
There are many games
which one was it advertising?
Rev Halofan - October 12, 2009
It said on the MLB link
of foxsports.com, that the ALCS was 7:30pm et. on Fox. Check it out, hopefully it will work on your computer.
SMUangelFan - October 12, 2009
Pregame 7:30
No gurantee the first pitch is within an hour of that.
Rev Halofan - October 12, 2009
My sincere apologies
Apparently Fox is that stupid. I should have known.
Gorbachav5 - October 13, 2009

SMUangelFan - October 12, 2009
That is when the Yankee stroke-a-thon begins
but at what time is the first pitch? An hour later perhaps?
Rev Halofan - October 12, 2009
We better wrap this up
Before game 7, I’ll be on an airplane coming home from Hawaii on Sunday the 25th & missing that came will not be cool!
Sidenote: anyone know of any good places to watch these games in or around Waikiki?
lightupthehalo - October 12, 2009 via mobile
*game
lightupthehalo - October 12, 2009 via mobile
Actually yes
There is a good sports bar just to the west of Waikiki over by the Yard House. I can’t remember street names, but it’s hard to miss. Basically go to the waterfront, turn right, and start walking.
GMan83201 - October 12, 2009
Cool thanks!!
lightupthehalo - October 12, 2009 via mobile
Thanks for the rec...
Have been hanging out at this place, Giovanni Pastramis, for the games … Good cheap food & some angel fans, heavy on the NY fans too though
lightupthehalo - October 22, 2009
I'll be at game 5
hauldog - October 12, 2009
not if we sweep!
Rev Halofan - October 13, 2009
None cares if you will be at the game, because you will be leaving with your heads down. So have fun watching your team get shut down by our pitching and your pitching will be giving up a few homers to us. So again i say, have fun being on the losing side.
BradlyB - October 13, 2009
Lame
Go troll on your own board.
Seik1177 - October 13, 2009
Over / under on how many more comments this clown gets in before he's banned?
+/- 2.5…
The Limey - October 13, 2009
Hit and run. We call them seagulls on another forum, because they dump their shit and fly off.
opiejeanne - October 13, 2009
LOL that's great
angelsfan777 - October 13, 2009
hahah!
That was a good one!
Downing Rules - October 13, 2009
That was fucking weak dude
hauldog - October 13, 2009
I thought we beat the Sox on Sunday?
Oooooh, that’s a Yankees fan. They’ve done jack shit in the playoffs for so long, I forgot that they were too daft to let go of their misplaced sense of superiority.
Gorbachav5 - October 13, 2009
the dude literally signed up
on his mom’s email account. She just emailed me asking why she got a no-trolling email.
Rev Halofan - October 13, 2009
that's funny.
44FAN - October 13, 2009
Cute. I imagine she gave him an earful.
opiejeanne - October 13, 2009
Did you ask her why she gave birth to a troll?
clover_black - October 13, 2009
That's hilarious
I hope you told his mom off for parental neglect. How dare she raise her son to be a Yankee fan!
Gorbachav5 - October 13, 2009
Best thing I've read today.
AlanFalcon - October 13, 2009
Lol.
I went over to pinstripealley earlier and man are we the only blog that actually has members. Everything else is like a damn ghost town! I love being an Angels fan!!
angelskid2210 - October 13, 2009
AthleticsNation is real damned busy. But then, misery loves company.
Stirrups - October 13, 2009
They are the founding fathers of SB Nation after all
turs12 - October 13, 2009
Damn
What an awful time for game 3
ryanfea - October 13, 2009
I think it's great!
Would get to watch the game without having to take a day off the next day :)
Matt UK - October 13, 2009
I'm (obviously) with you on this one...
…those 7pm starts Pacific time are a disaster.
Games 4&5 are the only difficult ones. Game 7 is tricky too, but if we can get to 7, then sod it, I’ll be there.
The Limey - October 13, 2009
The Reason I think it sucks
Is pretty selfish. I will in all likelihood miss the end of that game for an exam. It starts at 4:15 here Eastern Time (I’m in Ohio) and my exam is at 6:00 Eastern.
ryanfea - October 13, 2009
This is like the third set of starting times I have seen on different "reliable" websites.
44FAN - October 13, 2009
Those times
were sent out by the Angels to seatholders today, I think they are correct.
raskul - October 13, 2009
Then Fox who is broadcasting the games must be mistaken with their own program scheduling.
And Yahoo does’nt have a clue.
44FAN - October 13, 2009
ESPN
agrees with the times posted here then again, ESPN sucks.
ryanfea - October 13, 2009
wel...
Fox wants you to tune into the pregame COMMERCIALS and Yahoo uses and aggregate feed with placeholder times because it cannot accept a TBA.
Rev Halofan - October 13, 2009
That's what the Angels website says
red floyd - October 13, 2009
Well crap.
Based on those start times I’m going to miss at least the first two hours of most of the games. :-(
Zu Long - October 13, 2009
DVR dude
It will change your life
Higz - October 13, 2009
Dude like 50% of the draw for watching Angels games for me has become being on this site when it all goes down.
I’m DVR-ing the games, but you can’t DVR being in what amounts to the local sports bar with 30 of your buddies while watching your team kick ass.
Zu Long - October 13, 2009
Remember, we're also playing to keep Joey G out of our house for next year's ASG
Not a huge deal in the scheme of things, but a little something extra to play for. Always thought it would amazing to have Soth at home for next year’s ASG.
AlanFalcon - October 13, 2009
Very good point
The Limey - October 13, 2009
Worst comes to worst, having a Torre v Girardi matchup in the ASG
would be kind of amusing. That is if I am still alive to see it if the yanks and dodgers both win (shudder)
anaheim angels - October 13, 2009
Anybody know of any places in the San Pedro or Torrance area
where they will be wtching and rooting for the angels?
angelskid2210 - October 13, 2009
I live in Redondo, right at the border of Torrance
but I havent found any sports bars to my liking as of yet.
Let me know if you find a good one, I just have 20 people at my house and BBQ.
PhiSlamma - October 13, 2009
It's been a while but I remember a sports bar in the old town main street area in Torrance.
Then there is always Hooters in Long beach.
44FAN - October 13, 2009
Doesn't Nationals in Torrance have a nice set up?
It has been a few years since I watched games there but they used to at least devote a big screen to Angels games.
SalmonStream - October 13, 2009
Is Weaver a lock for GM2?
NY Post seems to think he will be going against Burnett…
3rd Echelon - October 13, 2009
I think he is
I believe that Weaver is our second best pitcher so I see no reason to change despite how good his home record has been.
ryanfea - October 13, 2009
nope
saunders for game 2, weaver most likely game 3 at home..
b0rd3rline - October 13, 2009
Scioscia has already said a lefty will be going in game 1 or 2...
so that rules out Weaver.
I figure they’ll put Kazmir in game 2 and Weaver in game 3.
Nashdiesel - October 13, 2009
Weav will probably give up about 15 home runs in Yankee Stadium...
but Kaz’s pitch location in Fenway scares me, also.
clover_black - October 13, 2009
I think
Saundo in game 2, Weaver should pitch at home since he is a fly ball pitcher. The new Skankee stadium does not fit his pitching style. Weaver at home!
P237 - October 13, 2009
It's Saunders in game 2.
http://anaheim.angels.mlb.com/news/probable_pitchers.jsp?c_id=ana
44FAN - October 13, 2009
This is a good call, IMO
Saunders – groundball pitcher, lefty, been pitching well since he got back
Weaver’s a fly ball pitcher and Kazmir is either tired or hurt again, his velocity was down against Boston and he was leaving his breaking ball up (his fastball should have been hitting 95-96 on that TBS gun, instead it was at 91-92).
This has the added bonus of putting Kazmir in the pen if Scioscia goes with the 3-man rotation. Kaz can probably still dial it up for an inning or two if needed and has a lot better chance of getting a key strikeout with guys on base.
Gorbachav5 - October 13, 2009
Even though that's from the official site,
it’s still just speculation.
“Saunders, who allowed two or fewer earned runs in seven of his last eight outings, wasn’t needed for Game 4 against the Red Sox in Boston and will be well rested if he draws the assignment at Yankee Stadium. He hasn’t pitched since Oct. 4 when he went five innings in Oakland.”
Notice the IF. I guess they’re just like us. Sitting around on an off-day thinking of things to write about.
hittheg - October 13, 2009
I hate that game 3 starts at 1pm.
Luckily I have a cool enough boss to let me out of it so I can go to the game.
chairmanofthebar - October 13, 2009
im at school :(
but i get out at 1:55 so i guess its ok
Angels_48 - October 13, 2009
WTF is MLB thinking?
Why couldn’t they have ALCS game 2 a 4ET and NLCS game 3 at 4ET.
Instead, both LAA and LAD have a day game…. ON A WORKING DAY. If they had done what I suggested, the games would be near the end of the day on the east coast.
red floyd - October 13, 2009
Angels + Dodgers World Series=
nightmare for ESPN! hahaha
Angels_48 - October 13, 2009
But imagine all the "funny" traffic stories you could listen to!
I listened to the Yankees broadcast when we were playing them last and they just went on and on about how Tex hated the “LA” traffic and he had to take the “HOV” lane to get the stadium on time. It made me switch back over to Phyzz it was so bad.
AlanFalcon - October 13, 2009
What the hell is a "HOV" lane?
I’m guessing High Occupancy Vehicle, but this is based off of nothing.
linkbruin - October 13, 2009
Haha...
Here in CA we call it the “damn another Prius just flew by me” lane.
BruinHalo - October 13, 2009
You got it right, but hell if I knew while listening to them yammah.
AlanFalcon - October 14, 2009
So, he was a carpool lane cheater?
opiejeanne - October 14, 2009
That would pretty much be it. Yep.
But, hey, it’s Tex. So zooming up the 55 from Newport Beach to the stadium is an entitlement, no?
Stirrups - October 14, 2009
It shouldn't be
They should be happy that two teams from the second biggest media market in the country both would be i the WS. They are so illogical.
turs12 - October 13, 2009
But it's a redundant market...
and not attractive to the rest of the US.
BruinHalo - October 13, 2009
Didn't stop them
from splooging over the Subway Series back in 2000.
turs12 - October 14, 2009
mouth-breathers?
proletariat - October 14, 2009
Whoa, you're back - where the hell have you been for the last 2 years?
Higz - October 14, 2009
I think our starting picthing will outdo theirs and our hitters will be clutch- watch out for Aybar and Izturis- Figgy will step to the plate this series- Angels in 7- Go Angels!!!
