Angels Minor Leaguers Lose to Rangers

The playoff bound Angels let everyone get a little work in and allowed the AAA team to wear the major league threads and add a few numbers to their Baseball Reference page.

John Lackey threw 40 pitches, 24 for strikes, gave up 2 ER, struck out 2 and most importantly perhaps, did not walk anyone in his 2 innings of work in what might be his final regular season start at Angels Stadium of Anaheim in an Angels uniform.

The highlight of the game was Kendry Morales belting his 34th HR of the season, a 2-Run blast that went far beyond the Left Centerfield fence. The Kubano Kowbell is now tied for 10th place all time single season in HRs in Angels franchise history. Don Baylor hit 34 HRs in 1978, Wally Joyner did it in 1987, and Tim Salmon did it twice: 1995 and 2000. Kendry has 3 games to tie Garret Anderson's 35 HRs in 2000 for 9th place on the list.

lmfao at the hazing!!

who was in the dress?!

Petit?

Palmer the Tela-Tubby. LOL

palmer was dressed like a baby

SOS was the tele-tubby..

I took some pictures. I'll try to get them online tomorrow morning.
Trevor Bell the obvious blame today. Here's his line:

T Bell
(L, 1-2) 2.1 6 6 3 1 2 0 63-37 9.74

Just plain awful. He should’ve been yanked the second he was hit by the bat.

At worst, Wood saw a whole lot of pitches today, and went 1 for 4, he just had shit-tacular base-running skills.

And a costly error
Is there a "Who Cares" option?

Because at this point the BOTG doesn’t matter to me.

BOTG = SOTH

For not letting Lackey rip Kinsler’s head off. We were sitting behind the dugout and I could see Kinsler talking shit to Lackey as he ran around the bases. I think Lackey was like a hair away from going after him.

Next thing we know, Rich Thompson is on the mound. Funny stuff.

I meant after the Chris Davis HR

But Kinsler was talking shit too.

Hahahaha

The camera zoomed in on Lackey’s face. You could read his lips as he said “Why don’t you hurry the f—- up!” I’m ready for Boston

We were sitting behind the Angels dugout and we saw Lackey talking to him

but we couldn’t figure out what he was saying. We guessed that he was telling Kinsler to run faster.

Chris Davis was playing on a bad hamstring and could not run fast

Lackey as usual was over reacting, Davis is not a hot dog type player and is a fellow texan like Lackey and will be at the Dallas Cowboy games this off season, Lackey and Ian Kinsler are both mouthy type players, no doubt, but Chris Davis is not, it was all just a miss understanding, mathis told lackey later about the hammy.

+1

absolutely correct. Lackey was telling Davis to “pick it up and run faster” and did not realize the guy was injured. Lackey does need to chill.

sorry disagree with a lot of who the blame is on

first i will say this game had no meaning as far as who won so i dont care. next please the blam is not on palmer, if u want to put some cause the fact is he didn’t pitch out of it ok how about 2% of it. the rest wasn’t just on wood but the whole defense. so many of them made mistakes that inning that allowed runs to score he could have been out of it with 1 run or less if it wasn’t fore the mistakes of evans, quinlan, and wood. so i put 97% on the defense and mainly those three players. guys at the same time remember that these were almost all AAA players who havent played in over a week in most cases so that was part of why they were not sharp when it came to defense and even hitting though that wasn’t as bad at least they were for the most part still god at bats.

agree the bat hitting bell did effect his pitching i think but who cares all that matters is boston and taking them out!!!
Palmer? Are you talking about the same game? Palmer didn't pitch tonight.

Bell walked in a run tonight.

So I was at this painful game, and even more painful rally afterwards...

Was anyone else there?

Was Clyde Wright drunk?

i had to turn the teevee off

what a minor league pep rally. our players and fans deserve so much more.

The skydiving part I enjoyed, but...

….after that it was an absolute trainwreck. Physioc had to keep repeating the same
paid sponsors as he was saying what a great team that was. I felt bad for him, it was
pretty comical.

“This is our season, we will finally take down Boston, and these thoughts are brought to you by Budweiser, Samsung, and Summer’s Eve”…

Last year's rally after the ALDS was much better.
We were there. It started off pretty good but just fizzled out. Phyzzled out.

Someone needs to talk to Figgy about what he was wearing; Michael Jordan will be wanting his jacket returned. No really, Figgy, if the tailor says the sleeves are a bit too long trust him.

Everyone came out of the dugout wearing a suit, and when Butcher looked real purty in his. So did Sosh. I don’t know if got a photo of them because by then it was pretty dark on the field, and the woman in front of me kept standing up whenever I tried to point the camera that direction. I did get some shots of the big scoreboard, but I haven’t checked them yet to see what I got.

Clyde Wright is a hoot!

The Japanese didn’t dub him “crazy Wright-o” for nothing.

We can't really blame our minor leaguers

They’re minor leaguers after all. We got what we expected out of them.

Angels World View

Repost

At one point in Thursdays game the Angels lineup had players representing six different countries in the lineup.

USA – Mathis, Wood, Willits and Evans
Australia – Thompson
Cuba – Morales
Mexico – Sandoval
Venezuela – Izzy and Rivera
Dominican Republic – Guerrero

Anybody know the MLB record for this?
