I watched Don Larsen's Perfect Game twice already.
Other than that, I’ve not seen anything I would tune in to watch unless I had a lot of extra time and was bored. Lots of re-runs……….similar to watching “Before the Bigs…..” over and over.
I haven’t seen or heard anything I didn’t already know yet (other than watching the Perfect Game).
Maybe things will get spicier as Spring Training approaches.
Anyone with DirecTV gets the program on Channel 213.
Not the least bit shocked at this but, on new years day when it started we were subject to: 2004 redsox post season highlights, then immediately after that…… all time greatest redox moments……. gag me with a spoon already. Being that I’m a huge baseball fan, all the historical trivia I’ve learned about has been pretty cool even if it is about the team i hate the most. Yesterday they did an awesome little thing on nolan ryan’s no hitters. All in all its rad, and it seems to be getting better day by day.
You just have to get over the Red Sox/Yankees crap before you even tune in. It wasn’t terribly difficult to predict that those two teams would take up a huge chunk of the programming content. I’m just thankful that we finally have a 24-hour baseball channel. How sweet is that?
For Dish Network subscribers, go to the http://mlb.mlb.com/network MLB Network website, enter your zip code in the channel locator box, and click on the channel locator button. It takes you to a page where you can send a MLB sponsored message to Dish to urge them to carry the MLB Network. If everybody does this, it may make a difference.
I think ESPN and FOX are probably keeping Dish from carrying the new network somehow. Why don’t these websites have it set up where you can watch on line? After all it is 2009 and the technology is there. If you can listen to AM830 on line what is the problem with this new state of the art sports network? Really.
Just checked the perfect game out. Good history of media if nothing else. 50+ yr old shaving cream commercials. Ads were hysterically funny and just as annoying back then! Vin broadcasting the last half. Amazing.
I don't get it
because of those bastards at AT&T.
Chzburger Jones - January 4, 2009
Ditto...
but it sounds like I’m not missing much at this point.
thrill000 - January 4, 2009
Double ditto
I hate AT & T.
ArkAngel - January 4, 2009
i hate dish :P
AnaheimHalos61 - January 5, 2009
Where's the option
that says I got screwed cause they aren’t on Dish??
pattimelt - January 4, 2009
... or because Time Warner can't pull their heads out of their colons?
scareduck - January 4, 2009
It looks like all 3 of us got screwed lol.
Please, feel free to chime in on my bitch and moan about not getting MLB Network fan post.
Chzburger Jones - January 4, 2009
I have time warner and I have it.
It is channel 276.
angelskid2210 - January 4, 2009
I have Time Warner, and wasn't even aware of this channel...
Good stuff. Is this like MLB’s version of the NFL network? (Which I don’t get, because of stupid Time Warner)
bc56274 - January 4, 2009
yes
Sethy - January 4, 2009
I feel like it would be even better
If they could somehow sub out Joe Buck’s voice for, well, silence would do..

the hot stove show is great
barry larkin, al leiter, john heyman > anything with steve phillips
ihearhowie2.0 - January 4, 2009
you mean
without?
AnaheimHalos61 - January 5, 2009
no
anything with steve phillips on it (ie ESPN) sucks. Therefore, MLB Hot Stove > Steve Phillips
ihearhowie2.0 - January 5, 2009
Most of it is really cool

Oh yeah, and the Nolan Ryan thing was killer.

I've tried that for U-Verse
and it’s not even listed. How depressing.
Chzburger Jones - January 4, 2009
Could be a lot worse

haven't had a chance to really sit down and watch it yet
i really need to get on that
howiestheman - January 4, 2009
Finally!
Finally got something other than a black screen! Had to reboot my box for some other reason, and when it rebooted, MLBN was there.
All I had a chance to catch was Hot Stove and Prime 9 (CF and Home Runs).
red floyd - January 6, 2009
i caught the Prime 9 CF
some interesting choices, huh?
howiestheman - January 6, 2009
I agreed with most of them...
Just had some quibbles about the order (I’d have rated Mantle #2).
The only one I had any sort of problem with was Edmonds, and even that’s a defendable choice.
red floyd - January 6, 2009
Darn, that was a reply to howiestheman
red floyd - January 6, 2009
yeah Edmonds caught me by surprise
i was glad to see Junior in there though.. he’s one of those “what if?” guys
howiestheman - January 6, 2009
And the scary part about that
he still has 600 dingers and has an outside shot at 3000 hits.
Chzburger Jones - January 6, 2009
amazing, isn't it?
i wish he and Bonds would’ve switched spots… only, you know, without the ’roids
howiestheman - January 6, 2009
I was watching MLBN
and was diggin’ it for a few days. Then I get the news that we switched to Dishnetwork.
That Sucks! Dish Sucks. Directv is much better.
Dono Romantico - January 6, 2009
F MLB Network
just watched a 30 min World Series montage with segments like “Comebacks” and “Winning it All” and blah blah blah.
Guess who they left out of every single part?
F the media.
