While the Rev is trying to pick up swag, the Halos got their hundreth' win, finally, of the season. Congratulations to the fellas and congratulations to Arte Moreno for being the best owner in MLB.

and the Colonel toooooooooooooooo
norcaliangelsfan - September 28, 2008
NIPPLES!!!!!!!
Kickin ass before the post season!
acuda27 - September 28, 2008
Got it straight up
Naps for POTG, with runner up to Hokie Joe!
red floyd - September 28, 2008
I'd say CoPanthers.
I mean, the Colonel went 6 innings and shutout a lineup that beat the snot out of Lackey and Santana.
TheOptimist - September 28, 2008
I think that's the best way to go about it
The both of them were phenomenal tonight
halofan4life - September 28, 2008
I might still go with Saunders.
The Colonel put the boot down after Santana and Lackey got lit up on back to back nights.
Zu Long - September 28, 2008
Ker-NINJA'D.
TheOptimist - September 28, 2008
MIKE NAPOLI PANTHER
44FAN - September 28, 2008
Gotta go with Joe
9 strikeouts in 6 innings. He was throwing kidney stones out there!
Chone's Chonies - September 28, 2008
Good point.
He was coming off his Kidney stone thing too.
Zu Long - September 28, 2008
Stones...........hot
norcaliangelsfan - September 28, 2008
We've Up!
cupie - September 28, 2008
i still hate you.
jerk.
:P
howiestheman - September 28, 2008
what did he do?
acuda27 - September 28, 2008
read the game thread
“we’ve up” was a typo of mine.
howiestheman - September 28, 2008
Maybe you thought Weaver was up in the 'pen?
But, no, it was Jon Garland throwing a BP session.
Downing Rules - September 29, 2008
we've up indeed
red floyd - September 28, 2008
first 5 RBIs from Napoli
= panther.
Neo8234 - September 28, 2008
NAPPY DOOOO!!!!
great game for BOTH Napoli and Hokie Joe.
Saunders won the most game for us in 2008. Who would’ve thought?!
howiestheman - September 28, 2008
man who throw ball in left hand win many game for luminous members of team Angel.
Downing Rules - September 29, 2008
More impressive...
…than 100 wins is that 50 of them were on the road. That’s impressive.
What a great season! Let’s keep it going.
Riverrun - September 28, 2008
= Equal Home & Road Records
How often can a playoff team say that?
TheTypingFiend - September 28, 2008
Holy shit, did anyone else just see that commercial preceeding Baseball Tonight on ESPN?
That was awesome!
Zu Long - September 28, 2008
No but I will now.....TIME TO REWIND lol
acuda27 - September 28, 2008
what did it say?
norcaliangelsfan - September 28, 2008
It was an 'Only one October commercial'.
Basically Torii Hunter was narrating as he went through the way the Angels play games. It was AWESOME.
TheOptimist - September 28, 2008
scottnak - September 28, 2008
Oh man!
I can’t wait for the final standings!
TheTypingFiend - September 28, 2008
all i could think about at the end of the game was
What must have Teix been thinking? I mean, If he hadnt been traded to the braves in the first place, then he would likely be sitting in the Texas dugout right now and his season over. I bet that Teix just said to himself, “I am never playing on a terrible team ever again” which would be awesome because that would mean that the Yanks wouldnt be that high up on his list considering the AL East. The angels are virtually guaranteed to win the AL west the next few yaers (knock on wood)
AND CONGRATS ON THE 100! BRING ON THE SUX!
anaheim angels - September 28, 2008
Hard to not go with Napoli for POTG.
But I don’t see how the Colonel can be passed over. He held a high powered offense, the same offense our 1 and 2 starters couldn’t contain, scoreless for six innings. Pitched a helluva game and had career high in K’s. So there it is, my final Panther vote of the 08 season, Hokie Joe Saunders.
halofolife - September 28, 2008
I have a better win pic...
100 Wins.
shiftyeyedgoat - September 28, 2008
my favorite section
princeton11loveshalos - September 28, 2008
I'm so jealous at shifty
I could stab something with a spork
teopeht - September 28, 2008
Nipples are so hott right now!
I’m glad he helped get the Colonel through what some expected to be a tough start.
Makes me wonder if Unbuttons wasn’t there helping Papa Joe through the stone passing ordeal.
TheTypingFiend - September 28, 2008
Napoli's last 30 days
.407/.469/.759 with 5HRs
The Limey - September 28, 2008
Nice stat
Even better than Tex
highlandhalo - September 28, 2008
Does anybody else find that stat line as sexy as I find it???
halofan4life - September 29, 2008
????Is there more than one of these guys we call "Nipples"?
sothball - September 28, 2008
people that dont read this site often
would be freaked out by your title
anaheim angels - September 28, 2008
Whatta day!
100 wins and the Skins beat the Cowgirls. This is bliss.
ReggieBullits - September 28, 2008
Thank god (and Mike Napoli) for #100, I was getting worried there
deer - September 28, 2008
Lot's of Milestones & Records This Season....
Congrats to the Halos. Now TRADE THEM IN FOR A WORLD SERIES WIN ! ! !
Dono Romantico - September 28, 2008
Or give them NOTHING
And take from them EVERYTHING!
TheTypingFiend - September 28, 2008
Not Really...Great Things Still To Come
But you and I have heard it a thousand times from the players. “I Would Rather Trade (Fill In The Blank From The Numerous Accomplishments This Season)…..For a World Series Ring”.
Words No Halos Fan Wants To Hear.
My Only Point.
Dono Romantico - September 28, 2008
I am so happy right now
GREAT JOB BOYS! WELL DONE! 100, shit.
highlandhalo - September 28, 2008
I vote Naps.
snowhor - September 28, 2008
I'm new here
Sorry for the n00b question but how did the name “Panther” come about in describing the player of the game?
Anyways, I think Napoli and Saunders deserve Co-Panther honors. Napoli was great no doubt but Saunders deserves credit for coming back from a Kidney stone and pitching 6 lights out innings, especially after the final tune-up starts for Lackey and Santana went awry. Saunders stepped up.
Chzburger Jones - September 28, 2008
Welcome aboard and you're probably right about Hokie Joe
But your screen name is going to make me want a Cheeseburger every time I see it. As for the lore of the panther, go to the sidebar on the website and read down.
GO HALOS!
highlandhalo - September 28, 2008
Oh grasshopper...
Go back to main page, left column…scroll down to “Why Panther?”. Read the rules, then click on the hyperllink at the end of the rules for “The lore of the panther”…and you shall have your answer.
There will never be co-panthers. THAT will be explained in lesson #2.
sothball - September 28, 2008
lol
I have a lot to learn.
Chzburger Jones - September 28, 2008
like the reply button, and how it works.
that’ll be covered in lesson 4.
howiestheman - September 28, 2008
lol
AnaheimHalos61 - October 8, 2008
Just an observation
The rotation has 5 of the top 6 PoTG rankings. Torii is the other one.
red floyd - September 28, 2008
To be fair, Vlad, GA and Naps all have 5, same as Weaver and Judy.
TheOptimist - September 28, 2008
Counting today, Napoli has six Panthers. More than any other positional player on the team.
44FAN - September 29, 2008
What do you call Torii, then?
According to the sidebar, he’s got 9.
red floyd - September 29, 2008
But otherwise,
My original observation no longer stands, as Napoli has passed Garland and Weaver.
So the rotation is all in the top 9. Other five are Torii (9), Naps(6), GA(5), Vlad(5).
red floyd - September 29, 2008
Oops, I goofed.
